Low-Cost Skewed Redundant Imu Configuration For State-Space Recovery In A Saturated Environment, Levi S. Hubbard

Low-cost sensors for state space determination can be used successfully for ground vehicles, robots, unmanned aerial vehicles, and Internet-of-Things applications. When a high fidelity Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) cannot be obtained for state space determination, low-cost sensors can be used to satisfactory standards, despite their limitations in capabilities, by using various implementation techniques. The research group was experimentally investigating state space information of an unstable flying vehicle for motion simulation validation. The high fidelity motion capture system would intermittently lose track of the flight vehicle which lost critical flight data.

When English Literary Renaissance launched in 1971, early modern sexuality studies did not exist. Then again, neither did the feminist, new historicist, post-colonialist, or other “political” approaches that have significantly reshaped early modern literary studies (and the humanities) over the last forty years. Yet whereas feminist and new historicist essays began thickly to populate the pages of Renaissance journals in the early 1980s, studies of sexuality—and of lesbian, gay, or queer sexualities in particular—were slow to arrive. Memory Bread, constituting a daily performance ritual and the post-action objects, seeks to address the generational decline of mother language use in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, a post-colonized province of China. I chose to eat sliced white bread in the performance and later casted concrete sculptures as the extension of the action for both substances’ capitalistic nature. Being an invasive material that took over the traditional architectural lifestyle, the use of concrete mirrors the pervasive cultural and ethnic assimilation in China. Building a more inclusive audience is not a far-fetched idea; system diversification by its very nature is a performance strategy, not a performance goal. Changing audience demographics requires well laid out plans, achievable goals, effective processes, and a total organizational commitment to diversification. This report was created to provide perspectives that inform executive leaders in arts organizations who plan to attract diverse audiences. COVID-19 disrupted educational instruction which transitioned into remote learning and testing modes. Faculty adopted various platforms of remote learning, however, the students' perception of efficacy and adequacy remains unclear. Curriculum delivery transformation should be based on student feedback to align it with their needs and expectations. As remote learning evolves, it is important to identify perceptions from faculty and students. Our project might help improve and potentially enhance remote teaching and learning techniques.

The United States Supreme Court’s 2010 opinion in the crush-video case of United States v. Stevens made it extremely difficult to declare new varieties of low-value speech unprotected by the First Amendment. Five years later, the Court’s sign-ordinance ruling in Reed v. Town of Gilbert made it exceedingly tough for facially content-based regulations imposed on presumptively protected speech to be analyzed by any standard of judicial review less rigorous than the demanding strict scrutiny test. My work embraces a maximalist aesthetic that incorporates, archival research, personal secrets, and pubescent gay boy glamour. I seek to create a stimulating yet jarring experience, while building a world that is both familiar and inherently strange to the viewer. Thrift store cast-offs, hobbyist craft supplies, and saturated drawings are reassembled into a cast of characters and costumes that balance on the line between ghosts, creatures, and friends. I begin with my suburban upbringing; applying notions of separate and sub-divided to the construction of one’s aspirations, gender expression(s), and one’s ideological alignment. Material bodies, human and non-human, exist in a constant state of doing and undoing. As bodies change over time, so too do the objects they wear. In this way, a jewelry object is never finished and is constantly being made. In contemporary art practice, this is described as relational ontology by Amelia Jones, who reaches this terminology through the eco-political writings of Jane Bennett and Karen Barad. This body of work, [P]lace: Reinterpreting the Feminine, explores the ideas of gender and the the common associations materials, colors, values, etc. have in relationship to the accepted feminine and masculine. Armed with knowledge of these assumptions, my lace sculpture and installation work aims to draw attention to the complications surrounding what we understand as feminine through material transformation. By changing select qualities of the material, I create analogies for assumptions commonly made about women. This thesis analyzes the thematic links between three of J. D. Salinger’s short stories published in Nine Stories (“A Perfect Day for Bananafish,” “Down at the Dinghy,” and “Teddy”), ultimately arguing that it is a short-story cycle rooted in the quandary posed by the suicide of Seymour Glass. This conclusion is reached by assessing the influence of T. S. Eliot’s poem “The Waste Land” on these stories, something that is understood through the Marxist frame of Guy Debord’s The Society of the Spectacle.

Nalini Malani's Medea Project: Gender And Nationhood In Postcolonial India, Maya Varma

Art and Art History Honors Projects

In 1996, renowned contemporary Indian artist Nalini Malani embarked on what would become a decades-long project exploring the Greek myth of Medea as an embodiment of postcolonialism. Considering Medea’s historical interpretations as a mistreated wife and a villainous mother, this thesis examines how Malani transforms Medea into a metaphor of resistance to British colonialism and anticolonial nationalism in post-Partition India. Against the backdrop of the 1947 Partition and subsequent political events relating nationhood with the female body, Malani negotiates Medea as an emancipatory figure who shifts essentialized notions of womanhood into more complex narratives of violence, subjectivity, and liberation.

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ศึกษาความไม่สมบูรณ์ในกระบวนการคัดเลือกศิลปินระดับชาติทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์และนำข้อมูลมาสร้างสรรค์ผลงานนาฏยศิลป์ ซึ่งมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อค้นหารูปแบบและแนวคิดที่ได้หลังจากการสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์ โดยใช้รูปแบบงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพและงานวิจัยเชิงสร้างสรรค์ที่มีการศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสารทางวิชาการ การสัมภาษณ์ การสังเกตการณ์ การสัมมนา สื่อสารสนเทศ เกณฑ์การสร้างมาตรฐานการยกย่องบุคคลต้นแบบทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์ และประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวของผู้วิจัย ซึ่งนำข้อมูลมาตรวจสอบ วิเคราะห์ สังเคราะห์ และสร้างสรรค์ผลงานนาฏยศิลป์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า รูปแบบของนาฏยศิลป์สร้างสรรค์ในครั้งนี้สามารถจำแนกตามองค์ประกอบของนาฏยศิลป์ 8 องค์ประกอบได้แก่ 1) บทการแสดง โดยแบ่งเป็น 7 องก์การแสดงตามเกณฑ์มาตรฐานยกย่องศิลปิน ฯ มาจัดหมวดหมู่ใหม่ 2) นักแสดง มีทักษะด้านนาฏยศิลป์ไทย นาฏยศิลป์ตะวันตก บัลเลต์คลาสสิค และทักษะศิลปะละคร จำนวน 12 คน 3) ลีลานาฏยศิลป์ ใช้ลีลาการเคลื่อนไหวในชีวิตประจำวัน นาฏยศิลป์สมัยใหม่ การเคลื่อนไหวบัลเลต์คลาสสิค การใช้ศิลปะการละครรูปแบบนาฏยศิลป์การแสดง 4) การออกแบบอุปกรณ์ประกอบการแสดง การใช้อุปกรณ์ชีวิตประจำวัน ได้แก่ ถ้วยรางวัล แฟ้มสีดำ ผ้าสีขาว พู่กัน ไฟฉาย และถุงมือ 5) การออกแบบเสียงและเครื่องดนตรี ใช้เครื่องดนตรีที่หลากหลายในการบรรเลงดนตรี ได้แก่ โทน กู่เจิง จะเข้ ซออู้ โปงลาง และรำมะนาลำตัด 6) การออกแบบเครื่องแต่งกาย ใช้เครื่องแต่งกายแบบสากลนิยม การใช้ผ้าที่บางเพื่อสะท้อนถึงความโปร่งใสของกระบวนการ 7) การออกแบบพื้นที่การแสดง ใช้โรงละคร แบล็ค บ๊อกซ์ เธียเตอร์ (Black Box Theatre) ที่มีลักษณะสี่เหลี่ยม 8) การออกแบบแสง ใช้แสงสื่อถึงบรรยากาศ เช่น แสงสีแดงแสดงถึงความวิกฤตของศิลปิน นอกจากนี้มีแนวคิดที่ได้หลังจากการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน โดยคำนึงถึงแนวคิดที่สำคัญ 7 ประการ ได้แก่ 1) การคำนึงถึงความไม่สมบูรณ์ในกระบวนการคัดเลือกศิลปิน 2) การคำนึงถึงการสะท้อนสภาพของสังคม 3) การคำนึงถึงการสื่อสารกับผู้ชมและคนในสังคม 4) การคำนึงถึงความคิดสร้างสรรค์ในงานนาฏยศิลป์ 5) การคำนึงถึงการใช้สัญลักษณ์ในการสร้างสรรค์นาฏยศิลป์ 6) การคำนึงถึงความหลากหลายของรูปแบบการแสดง 7) การคำนึงถึงทฤษฎีนาฏยศิลป์ ดุริยางคศิลป์และทัศนศิลป์ ซึ่งผลการวิจัยทั้งหมดนี้สอดคล้องกับวัตถุประสงค์ทุกประการทั้งนี้การวิจัยในครั้งนี้เป็นการรวบรวมองค์ความรู้ทางด้านนาฏยศิลป์เชื่อมโยงประสบการณ์และพัฒนากระบวนการสร้างสรรค์ให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อวงการวิชาการและวงการนาฏยศิลป์ ตลอดจนเป็นแนวทางในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงานของผู้สร้างสรรค์ผลงานในอนาคต
