Ultra wideband (UWB) technology remains a viable choice for very high speed data communication in future applications involving large bandwidth. For boosting the data communication efficiency and to mitigate the multipath fading issue faced by UWB system with existing narrowband systems, Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna system is used along with UWB. Mutual coupling which must be smaller in value plays a vital role in deciding the efficiency of MIMO antenna and hence it becomes as important aspect. The mutual coupling reduction techniques of various UWB MIMO antennas are surveyed in this bibliometric paper. The bibliometric survey aims to …

Two Approaches To Measure Trace Metals Fluxes At The Sediment–Water Interface: Sediment Porewater Profile And Benthic Incubation, Harmesa, Wahyudi Johan
ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development
The biogeochemical cycle of trace metals is very likely affected by the global change in the ocean, especially due to the increasing of sea surface temperature and acidity. Thus, assessing biogeochemical cycle of trace metals will beneficial in elucidating the potential impact of climate change as well as ocean acidification. The assessment of the biogeochemical cycle of trace metals can be performed by measuring trace metals fluxes crossing the sediment–water interface. The main challenge in this measurement is the difficulty of measuring metal concentrations at trace levels due to either physical factors or biological factors that can affect the total …

Sea Level Rise In Indonesia: The Drivers And The Combined Impacts From Land Subsidence, Triana Karlina, Wahyudi A'An Johan
ASEAN Journal on Science and Technology for Development
Sea level changes play an important role as an indicator of climate change. However, without climate change, the sea level itself shows strong regional patterns, both in space and time, that could deviate significantly from global averages. The spatial variability of sea level changes in Indonesia can be divided based on its drivers, i.e., climatic and seasonal weather-driven and non-climatic and geological-driven. Seasonally, the sea level in Indonesia is generally high in northwest monsoon and low in southeast monsoon. Nevertheless, there is a possibility of extreme natural phenomenon influences that generate anomalies and a thermosteric process that also affects the …

The emission of greenhouse gases, including high CO2 and other materials, initiates global warming and climate change. Atmospheric CO2 that affects the carbonate system of seawater causes ocean acidification (OA). OA affects marine organisms directly, as well as humans economically and ecologically. Considering the high impact of OA and following the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, systematic research and monitoring of OA is necessary in Indonesia, whose seas play an important role in this emerging phenomenon. This review discusses the urgency of OA monitoring systems and suggests carbonate system monitoring, as well as carbon biogeochemistry. OA significantly affects marine production …

Application Of Ultrafast And Co2 Lasers For Cutting Waveguides, Moez Haque, Saeid Rezaei, Victor Isbrucker
Defensive Publications Series
Techniques for the cutting of waveguides from patterned glass wafers are described. Translation of an ultrafast laser beam across a wafer is performed to mark the wafer by forming a filament curtain that is aligned to the waveguide edge profile. Chucks are used to secure the wafer during marking and subsequent separation of the waveguides. The chucks include vacuum ports placed at selected locations for debris control around the cut edges. After marking, thermal shock is induced by CO2 laser absorption for breakage along the filament curtain and waveguide separation (singulation). An optical imaging system is used to calibrate the …

Impurity-Impurity Interaction In Silicon Doped With Manganese And Nickel, Sh. Utamuradova, Sh. Yusupova, K. Fayzullaev
Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
Using the radioactive technique and capacitive spectroscopy, it was found that the doping of Si with manganese from the layer on the surface leads to a decrease in both the total concentration of Ni and the concentration of electroactive Ni atoms. The Mn layer deposited on the Si surface acts as a getter for the Ni impurity. It is shown that with successive doping of Ni and then Mn, and simultaneous doping of silicon with Mn and Ni, only the levels characteristic of Mn are observed.

Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
The current flow and the appearance of thermoelectric power on uniformly heated p-n structures containing films heavily doped with titanium on the Si-Ge surface were detected under the conditions of a “thermal bath”. The results are discussed from the standpoint of the manifestation of the thermovoltaic effect, that is, the generation of charge carriers due to the absorption of subband photons with the participation of deep energy levels due to both defects in Si-Ge films and an admixture of titanium.

Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
The recombination rate of non-equilibrium carriers is calculated for a semiconductor model with a pair recombination complex, the activity of which decreases during excitation. It is shown that the dependence of the electron capture coefficient on the first level on the filling of the second level leads to a decrease in the recombination rate.

Tenzostimulated Current Relaxation In Surface-Barrier Diode Structures, O. Mamatkarimov, O. Khimmatkulov, I. Tursunov
Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
The effect of pulsed external all-round pressure on the I–V characteristics of surface-barrier diode structures is investigated. It is shown that under the adiabatic regime of exposure to HCV, the generated heat leads to short-term heating of the diode, as a result of which current relaxation is observed, which correlates with a change in temperature. The contribution of temperature to the change in current decreases with increasing applied forward voltage.

New Thermoelectric Materials, G. Abdurakhmanov, K Mukimov, A Esbergenova, S. Mamatqulova
Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
Recent achievements in developing of thermoelectric materials of higher efficiency are reviewed. It is shown that these achievements are based on decreasing of thermal conductivity down to values typical for materials having disordered or nanoscale structure. On the other hand these achievements demonstrate that there is no any principal limit for efficiency of thermoelectric devices beyond the Carnot formula.

Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
The morphological features and exact dimensional characteristics of fullerene-containing nanoaggregates and thin films by electron and atomic force microscopy are established. In the process of cooling the C70 solution from ~30°C to ~20°C, fractal spherical C70 nanoaggregates with diameters of ~150÷200 nm are formed on the surface of the cover glass in the solution. It was found that a fullerene-containing film obtained in the process of solvent evaporation from the volume of a drop of C70 solution on a horizontally located substrate (heated to ~33°C) is completely crystalline and nanostructured.

Euroasian Journal of Semiconductors Science and Engineering
The lifetime of non-equilibrium photo generated charge carriers in the thin-film copper indium gallium selenide CIGS-based solar cell was determined under illumination with monochromatic radiation of different wavelengths (λ ≈ 395 nm, 460 nm, 630 nm, 900 nm). It was found that the lifetime of nonequilibrum charge carriers generated charge carriers depends on the absorption coefficient and radiation intensity.
