The Love Power Synergy Of Effective Leadership, Phillip A. Giordano
The Love Power Synergy Of Effective Leadership, Phillip A. Giordano
Thinking Matters Symposium
Employee engagement, according to Gallup Inc., still hovers at approximately 15% globally and hit a recent high of only 34% in the United States (Harter J. , 2018). Employee engagement, as measured from a team aggregate of leaders' direct reports, represents a leading indicator in the perceived crisis of leadership. Employee Engagement has not changed in decades (Harter, Schmidt, Agrawl, Plowman, & Blue, 2016). Leaders who incorporate both power and love into their behaviors and communications create followers that view leaders as effective and remain loyal to the leader’s organizations (Dahm & Greenbaum, 2019). Studies on the concepts of love …
Women In Ministerial Leadership Roles, Sherith Carline Gutzmer
Women In Ministerial Leadership Roles, Sherith Carline Gutzmer
Masters Theses
The literature shows that women in positions of leadership are more accepted in the realms of business and politics than in the church. There is an increase of women entering seminary programs and theological training centers in the pursuit of ministerial leadership roles yet, upon completion, job placement is challenging. There is still a polarized view of women in ministerial leadership that has led to inconsistencies, confusion, and the need for clarity. The purpose of this study is to identify the views of graduate students in Liberty University Rawlings School of Divinity on women in ministerial leadership roles. The most …

Fundamentalism, Marginalization, And Eschatology: Historical, Socio-Economic, And Theological Factors Influencing Early Pentecostal Theological Education, Daniel Topf
Spiritus: ORU Journal of Theology
Pentecostalism is recognized and appreciated, for instance, for its fervent evangelism and vibrant worship but generally not well-known for its contributions to scholarship and formal theological education. Why is that the case? Rather than simply pointing to an anti-intellectual attitude within Pentecostalism, this article emphasizes there are complex historical, socioeconomic, and theological factors to be considered when describing the development of early Pentecostal theological education in the United States. From a historical perspective, early Pentecostalism had to come to terms with its nineteenth-century roots, which included the fundamentalist movement. Regarding socio-economic factors, many early Pentecostal leaders came from the margins …

Universal Leadership Model, Derwin Lamont Hickman Sr
Universal Leadership Model, Derwin Lamont Hickman Sr
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The Great Commission is the call of Jesus to his people to go out into the world and make disciples. The universal leadership model presents an opportunity for disciples/leaders to step up and fulfill the Great Commission. The church should be involved in discipleship training, outreaches and supporting the issues that are aligned with Christian ideology and important to people in the communities they serve. An effective universal leadership model should include diversity, training, desired change, accountability and effectiveness of change. In so doing, the church can then find parishioners within the church who may be transformed into disciples/leaders and …

Combating Pediatric Obesity With A Community-Based, Family-Centered Pediatric Obesity Prevention Program, Hillary Mayers, Msn, Fnp-C
Doctor of Nursing Practice Projects
Background: Overweight and obesity among children contributes to significant adverse health outcomes that reduce quality of life. Because children are influenced by the behaviors of their parents, there is a need for multicomponent family-based interventions within the community to help overcome these issues.
Objectives: This quality improvement project provided parents and children aged four to six years old with an interactive nutrition and physical activity educational program to increase their knowledge related to healthy lifestyle patterns and alter BMI status.
Methods: A 10-week pre/posttest design was implemented to evaluate outcome measures including BMI percentile, physical activity and nutritional habits, and …
