The pervasive proliferation of rumors, through #MeToo and #BalanceTonPorc, communicates meaningful and meaningless-making processes on misconducts both in the French and U.S. con-texts. Such rumors have transformed the online practices by culti-vating both verbal and non-verbal hate speech free and/or free speech. This cacophony of speech, law, and persona has led to a debate relayed on social media platforms, exposing people to a dan-ger zone mostly based as shame, hate, fear, or even destruction, as anonymity and due process no longer prevail.

This article investigates the phenomena of electoral politics and culture of social media in the context of Indonesian law and society through a case study of Jakarta Gubernatorial Election in 2017. The main argument of this article is that the connection between electoral politics and culture of social media shows a fallacious logical thinking in the form of bias and ad populum reasoning. Those two forms of fallacy refer to sectarian politics and ideological polarization. This article deals with the representation of critical nationalism discourse in Banyuwangian music in the New Order era. By juxtaposing representation and hegemony theory which emphasizes textual-contextual reading, we will analyze the constructions of local metaphors we assume supporting the establishment of nationalism. Such constructions intertwined with the mobilization of the uniqueness of local cultures that contributed to establishing the national culture through which nationalism got its “nutrition”. The removal of natural organic matter (NOM) and fluoride from Maji ya Chai River water (MCRW) using bone char (BC) and coagulants was investigated. Fine BC particles ranging from 0.045 to 0.2 mm were used in a 1 litre half-filled container, stirred at 300 rpm for 60 min followed by addition of a commercial coagulant and allowed to settle for 24 hours to remove NOM. MCRW practicable and affordable defluoridation method for removal of NOM through defluoridation with BC pre-treated with 0.3 N HCl followed by coagulation with Poly-aluminium chloride (PACl) is proposed. Cocaine is a highly addictive recreational drug that is a well-known cause of a variety of disease processes such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and even sudden cardiac death. In current literature, venous thrombosis secondary to cocaine abuse remains under-examined, while the harmful effects of the drug within the arterial vasculature are well-studied and understood. Our case presents a patient who was found to have a large pulmonary embolism and pulmonary infarction after several days of cocaine abuse. This paper considers The Time Machine in Alphabetical Order (2010) by Thomson and Craighead as an exploration of contemporary media technologies and their problematisation of time. After a brief hermeneutic reading of the work’s narrative, aesthetic and semiotic registers, the paper undertakes an analysis at the level of materiality and processuality. This approach concludes by drawing out some connections between hermeneutic and material/processual characteristics of the work as an exploration of mediality. Understanding Indonesia's City-Level Consumer Price Formation: Implications For Price Stability, Paresh Kumar Narayan

Using the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data of 82 Indonesian cities, we propose the hypothesis of heterogeneity in the cities’ contribution to the aggregate Indonesian CPI. Using a price discovery model fitted to monthly data, we discover that (1) of the 23 cities in the province of Sumatera, five contribute 44% and nine contribute 66.7% to price changes, and (2) of the 26 cities in Java, four alone contribute 41.6% to price changes. Even in smaller provinces, such as Bali and Nusa Tenggara, one city alone dominates the change in aggregate CPI. From these results, we draw implications for maintaining …

The flavonoids derived from Eugenia polyantha leaves were characterized by rapid and low cost approach. The aim of this research is to characterize secondary metabolite profile of flavonoids in the n-butanol fraction of E. polyantha using thin layer chromatography and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry. The n-butanol fraction was separated by using silica gel 60 GF254 as the stationary phase; chloroform: ethanol: glacial acetic acid (9.4: 0.5: 0.1) as the mobile phase; and visualized by using UV light 366 nm. Five isolates were obtained from the separation, but there were only three isolates (Rf 0.26; 0.44; 0.77) respectively identified as flavonoid compounds. The …

National standard agency of Indonesia has set the quality standard of shark liver oil through the Indonesian national standard which consists of sensory test, moisture content, free fatty acid as well as squalene concentration. The purpose of this study is to evaluate quality of shark liver oil capsule on market. As many as 6 samples were tested for the quality in accordance to SNI through organoleptic test (< 7), moisture content (max 0.3%), free fatty acid content (max 1.5%) and squalene concentration (min 70%). The results showed that the level of squalene in all samples do not meet the standard requirement, however all samples meet the free fatty acid content requirements. One sample does not fit the standard criteria in the term of organoleptic test and moisture content.

The rats were divided into 5 groups: XOS 2 gr/kg, XOS 1 gr/kg, XOS 0.5 gr/kg, diabetic control, and non-diabetic control. Acid fast bacilli (AFB) sputum microscopy is used to diagnose tuberculosis (TB) and to evaluate the effectiveness of anti-tuberculosis drugs in TB eradication program. The aim of this study was to evaluate the sputum conversion rate of AFB in pulmonary TB patients who received category I of antituberculosis (anti-TB) drugs. Monographs of the Western North American Naturalist

Over 80% of the Mid-Continent Sandhill Crane (Antigone canadensis) Population (MCP), estimated at over 660,000 individuals, stops in the Central Platte River Valley (CPRV) during spring migration from mid-February through mid-April. Research suggests that the MCP may be shifting its distribution spatially and temporally within the CPRV. From 2002 to 2017, we conducted weekly aerial surveys of Sandhill Cranes staging in the CPRV to examine temporal and spatial trends in their abundance and distribution.
