The large amount of heat loss at low temperatures (up to 250 °C), more than 70% of the total waste heat, motivates the market to develop new materials for low-temperature thermoelectric applications. To this end, organic materials can be excellent potential candidates with the additional advantages of light weight, ease of synthesis and processing, eco-friendly and being sustainable materials. Herein, we demonstrate the synthesis of polyaniline (PANI) in its conductive emeraldine form via a facile chemical oxidative polymerization process. This paper provides an overview of ferroelectret materials for energy harvesting applications. These materials take the form of a cellular compliant polymer with polarised pores that provide a piezoelectric response to generate electrical energy as a result of an applied strain or surrounding vibration. The manufacturing processes used to create ferroelectret polymer structures for energy harvesting are discussed, along with the range of microstructural features and pore sizes that are formed. Their important mechanical, electrical and harvesting performance are then described and compared. Background: Increasing accreditation requirements as well as transformations in medical school curricula necessitate administrative staff who are not only invested in the clerkship coordinator role but also view what they do as a career. To date, there has been a lack of professional development opportunities for clerkship administrators.

Methods: In 2003, the Central Group on Educational Affairs of the Association of American Medical Colleges recognized a need for professional development for clerkship administrators. Background: Systemic sclerosis is a multi-systemic disease characterized by excessive fibrosis, inflammation, and vasculopathy. Common clinical features include skin thickening, telangiectasias, salt and pepper skin, beak-shaped nose, and microstomy. We report a case of ANA-negative systemic sclerosis in a male patient.

Case illustration: Our patient presented with a 10-month history of diffuse hyperpigmentation, skin tightening and decreased mouth aperture, accompanied by digital ulcers, hypopigmented macules and violaceous discoloration of the digits upon exposure to cold temperature. Vegetation along roadsides is important to prevent soil erosion, provide habitat, and filter water running off the road. Vegetation close to the pavement along highways in Nebraska does not readily establish and persist. It is thought that the sodium and bulk density are the driving factors behind the lack of vegetation.
