Background

Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is currently complementing techniques to age-grade mosquitoes. NIRS classifies lab-reared and semi-field raised mosquitoes into < or ≥ 7 days old with an average accuracy of 80%, achieved by training a regression model using partial least squares (PLS) and interpreted as a binary classifier.

Methods and findings

We explore whether using an artificial neural network (ANN) analysis instead of PLS regression improves the current accuracy of NIRS models for age-grading malaria transmitting mosquitoes. We also explore if directly training a binary classifier instead of training a regression model and interpreting it as a binary classifier improves the accuracy. The separation of palladium (Pd (II)) from wastewater containing copper (Cu (II)) and nickel (Ni (II)) is investigated via hollow fiber supported liquid membrane (HFSLM). The viability to separate Pd (II) was established by controlling the influence of operating conditions viz. aqueous feed acidity, carrier concentration, types of stripping solution as well as flows rate of feed and stripping solutions. This study evaluated the influence of a curved root canal on the retreatment efficacy of root canals sealed with bioceramic sealer. 60 mandibular molars were divided into 4 subgroups of severely curved canal filled with AH Plus, slightly curved canal filled with AH Plus, severely curved canal filled with BioRoot RCS and slightly curved canal filled with BioRoot. Cordycepin, an adenosine analogue, has displayed numerous pharmacological and therapeutic implications including enhanced apoptosis and inhibition of proliferation of cancer cells, antioxidant property and improving sexual activity. However, oral administration of cordycepin has limited practical use due to its poor bioavailability in the intestine. Here, we developed a novel hybrid nanoparticle system for effective delivery of cordycepin in the gastrointestinal tract by using the bile salt-based liposome/niosome hybrid system (designated as biloniosome). Mcl-1 targeted therapy is promising strategy for lung cancer treatment since it is contributed to aggressive lung cancer and chemotherapeutic resistance. At present, many compounds targeting on Mcl-1 are currently under different clinical stages of development for cancer treatment. Herein, we report the Mcl-1 targeting activity of renieramycin T (RT), an alkaloid isolated from the blue sponge Xestospongia sp. RT was shown to target on Mcl-1 through ubiquitin-proteasomal degradation in lung cancer cells including chemotherapeutic resistant primary lung cancer cells. Additionally, RT also affects the activation of p53 and decrease of Bcl-2 which can lead to apoptosis of cancer cells. …

วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาการทำงานของ Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) ในการตรวจหาและวินิจฉัยโรคจากภาพอัลตร้าซาวด์ของก้อนในตับในเวชปฏิบัติ โดยผ่านตัวชี้วัดได้แก่ ความไว (sensitivity), ความจำเพาะ (specificity) และ ความถูกต้อง (accuracy) วิธีการศึกษา: เก็บภาพอัลตร้าซาวด์ตับในผู้ป่วยที่มีความเสี่ยงต่อการเกิดมะเร็งตับปฐมภูมิที่มารับการตรวจรักษาคลินิกโรคตับ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ ในช่วง 8 เดือน โดยใช้เครื่องอัลตร้าซาวด์ 4 เครื่อง บันทึกข้อมูลก้อนในตับและพื้นหลังที่เป็นเนื้อตับ จากนั้นทำการลงผลการวินิจฉัยสุดท้ายของก้อนที่ตับ อ้างอิงจากผลเอกซเรย์คอมพิวเตอร์ เอกซเรย์คลื่นแม่เหล็กไฟฟ้า หรือ การเจาะ/ตัดก้อนที่ตับมาตรวจทางพยาธิวิทยา หลังจากนั้นนำภาพก้อนในตับที่รวบรวมได้ไปทดสอบการทำงานของ CNN ผลการศึกษา: ผู้ป่วยที่ตรวจพบก้อนในตับทั้งหมด 156 คน เป็นผู้ป่วยตับแข็ง 79 คน และไม่เป็นตับแข็ง 77 คน ภาพก้อนในตับทั้งหมด 569 lesions แบ่งเป็น HCC 138 lesions, cyst 177 lesions, hemangioma 113 lesions, focal fat infiltration (FFI) 47 lesions และ focal fat sparing (FFS) 94 lesions อัตราการตรวจพบก้อนในตับของ CNN เท่ากับร้อยละ 52 โดยอัตราการตรวจพบก้อนในตับในกลุ่มที่เป็นตับแข็งสูงกว่าในกลุ่มที่ไม่เป็นตับแข็งอย่างมีนัยสำคัญ คือร้อยละ 61 เทียบกับร้อยละ 45 (p= 0.0002) การวินิจฉัยชนิดของก้อนในตับพบว่า CNN มีความไวร้อยละ 87, ความจำเพาะร้อยละ 97 และ ความถูกต้องร้อยละ 95 สรุปผล: CNN สามารถวินิจฉัยชนิดของก้อนในตับที่พบบ่อยได้เป็นอย่างดี โดยพื้นหลังของเนื้อตับไม่ส่งผลต่อการวินิจฉัยชนิดของก้อนในตับ

This policy advocacy document argues for a fair and equitable retention and promotion policy for English language learners (ELLs) in elementary grades of a large urban school district. Increasing access and instructional opportunities within bilingual/ESL services combined with more accurate measures of English proficiency would help mitigate random or unfair promotion and retention practices. Research addressing the micro-foundational theoretical entity of customer engagement (CE) has proliferated in recent years. In parallel, the macro-foundational theory of service-dominant (S-D) logic is thriving. While the fit of CE/S-D logic has been recognized, insight into this theoretical interface remains tenuous, as explored in this paper. We develop an integrative, S-D logic–informed framework of CE comprising three CE foundational processes, which are required (for customer resource integration), or conducive (for customer knowledge sharing/learning) CE antecedents. In this article, we use high frequency data and an identification via changes in volatility approach to assess the volatility spillovers among oil and the US and Saudi Arabian stock markets. We document the existence of asymmetry in contemporaneous spillover effects. Particularly, during the times when oil’s trading hours overlap with the US and Saudi Arabian stock markets, the volatility spillover from oil to the stock markets is higher than the other way around. Consumers often imagine what it would be like to own a new product. Does engaging in such thoughts on desired future impact consumers’ purchase intentions, and if so, what is the underlying process? This study sets out to investigate the posed questions by assessing self-regulatory strategies consumers employ upon pondering on a desired future. Based on Oettingen’s fantasy realization model, the authors take a comparative approach of two modes on desired future—mental contrasting and indulging—en route to purchase intentions. The phytochemical investigation from the dichloromethane extract of the twigs and branches of Garcinia schomburgkiana led to the isolation of fourteen known compounds, including 2'-hydroxydihydrochalcone (1), 1-(2'-6'-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-phenyl-1-propanone (2), cudratricusxanthone K (3), pancixanthone A (4), euxanthone (5), 1,4,5-trihydroxyxanthone (6), osajaxanthone (7), 1,2,7-trihydroxyxanthone (8), 1,3,7-trihydroxy-2,4-diprenylxanthone (9), 1,5-dihydroxyxanthone (10), 7-epiclusianone (11), oblongifolin C (12), clusiacitran B (13), and aucuparin (14). Among all isolated compounds, 2'-hydroxydihydrochalcone, 1-(2'-6'-dihydroxyphenyl)-3-phenyl-1-propanone, and cudratricusxanthone K were isolated from genus Garcinia for the first time. Moreover, 7-epiclusianone, pancixanthone A, 1,4,5-trihydroxyxanthone, osajaxanthone, 1,2,7-trihydroxyxanthone, and 1,3,7-trihydroxy-2,4-diprenylxanthone discovered in G. schomburgkiana for the first time. Aim This prospective clinical study compared postoperative pain following single visit root canal treatment in patients with asymptomatic mandibular molar teeth with necrotic pulps using two different instrumentation techniques: multi-file rotary (ProTaper Universal), and reciprocating single-file (WaveOne) techniques.

Aim: To evaluate the effect of pre-heating temperatures of a dual-cured adhesive and a dualcured resin composite as well as tubule orientation on micro-shear bond strength (µSBS) to dentin. The degree of conversion (DC%) of the adhesive and the composite was also evaluated at the different temperatures. ในอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตยางรถยนต์ที่มีการแข่งขันทางด้านคุณภาพและราคาของยางล้อนั้น ข้อมูลของโรงงานได้บ่งชี้ว่าคอมพาวนด์แก้มยางเป็นส่วนที่ถูกผลิตมากที่สุด โดยผงเขม่าดำ (Carbon black) ถูกใช้สารตัวเติมนั้นมีราคาที่สูง ดังนั้นงานวิจัยนี้มีแนวคิดที่จะใช้สารตัวเติมซิลิกา (Silica) ที่มีราคาถูกกว่ามาศึกษาผลการทบของสารตัวเติมซิลิกาที่มีต่อคอมพาวนด์แก้มยางโดยศึกษาปริมาณการใช้สารตัวเติมซิลิกาที่เหมาะสมเพื่อทดแทนการเติมผงเขม่าดำในการผลิตคอมพาวนด์แก้มยาง โดยศึกษาอัตราส่วนระหว่างซิลิกาต่อผงเขม่าดำที่ปริมาณการเติมสารตัวเติมคงที่ที่ 51 phr โดยมีสัดส่วนซิลิกาต่อผงเขม่าดำดังนี้ 51:0, 48.5:2.5, 46:5, 43.5:7.5 phr และศึกษาผลของปริมาณการใส่สารคู่ควบไซเลนในสัดส่วนร้อยละของปริมาณซิลิกาที่ 0% 2% และ 10% โดยน้ำหนัก ทำการศึกษาค่าความหนืดมูนนี่ พฤติกรรมการคงรูป ค่าความหนาแน่นของพันธะเชื่อมขวาง ค่าการกระเด้งกระดอน ค่าความแข็ง สมบัติแรงดึง และสมบัติการต้านทานความร้อน ซึ่งผลจากการวิจัยแสดงให้เห็นว่าค่าความหนืดมูนนี่และกระจายตัวของสารตัวเติมไม่เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงที่เห็นได้ชัดซึ่งเป็นผลจากการที่ใส่สารตัวเติมซิลิกาในปริมาณที่น้อยแต่จะเห็นได้ว่าเมื่อปริมาณซิลิกาเพิ่มขึ้นจะส่งผลให้พฤติกรรมการคงรูปและระยะยืด ณ จุดขาดของคอมพาวนด์มีค่าเพิ่มสูงขึ้น โดยสัดส่วนการใส่ซิลิกา 7.5 phr และไม่มีการใส่สารคู่ควบไซเลน พบว่าระยะเวลาสกอร์ช และระยะเวลาในการคงรูป มีค่าสูงสุดเท่ากับ 7.24 นาทีและ 16.14 นาที ตามลำดับ อย่างไรก็ตามการเพิ่มปริมาณของซิลิกาส่งผลให้ค่าความหนาแน่นของพันธะเชื่อมขวาง ค่าการกระเด้งกระดอน ค่าความแข็ง และค่าความต้านแรงดึงมีค่าลดลงเมื่อเทียบกับคอมพาวนด์แก้มยางที่ใส่เพียงผงเขม่าดำเนื่องจากการถูกดูดซับของสารเร่งจากหมู่ไซลานอลบนพื้นผิวของซิลิกา

This work aims to study the effects of alkyl-substituted aromatic amines of polybenzoxazine resins used as binders of non-asbestos friction composite materials. Effects of thermosetting resins (BA-ot, BA-mt, BA-pt, BA-a, and BA-35x) used as a binder of friction composite materials on thermal stability, dynamic mechanical properties, mechanical properties, and tribological performances are investigated. The different chemical networks of polybenzoxazine resulting in differences in the crosslink density and glass transition temperature (Tg) of friction composite materials. The enhancement of crosslink density values of polybenzoxazine composites (F-BA-ot < F-BA-pt < F-BA-a < F-BA-mt < F-BA-35x) resulting to bind other ingredients stronger and more tightly. From the experiment, it can be concluded that the higher crosslink density will result in higher thermal and mechanical properties, lower friction coefficient, and lesser specific wear rate.

หลายทศวรรษที่โรงงานผู้ผลิตได้ประยุกต์ใช้คลังสินค้าสัญญาซึ่งเป็นคลังสินค้าเฉพาะบริหารจัดการโดยผู้ให้บริการด้านโลจิสติกส์ด้วยสัญญาระยะปานกลาง วิธีการเอาท์ซอสช่วยให้โรงงานมีความยืดหยุ่นในการให้บริการโลจิสติกส์ อาทิเช่น การรวมเที่ยวขนส่ง การเปลี่ยนหีบห่อสินค้า และ การรวมสินค้า เนื่องจากค่าใช้จ่ายในการจัดการคลังสินค้าขึ้นกับ จำนวนพาเลทที่จัดเก็บ และ ความถี่ที่พาเลทถูกเคลื่อนย้าย ดังนั้นการจัดเก็บที่ไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพและการขนถ่ายซ้ำซ้อนจะนำไปสู่ค่าใช้จ่ายค่าใช้จ่ายในการจัดการคลังสินค้าที่สูงขึ้น ดังเช่นคลังสินค้าสัญญากรณีศึกษา คลังสินค้ากรณีศึกษาประสบกับปัญหาสัดส่วนของพาเลทที่มีการจัดเรียงไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพหรือเรียกว่า พาเลทเศษ มีปริมาณสูงขึ้น ประกอบกับปัญหาสัดส่วนของการจัดเก็บพาเลทสูงขึ้นทำให้มีพื้นที่ว่างในคลังไม่เพียงพอ จากการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลและการระดมความคิดของกลุ่มทำงานพบหนึ่งในต้นเหตุมาจากกลุ่มสินค้านำเข้า สาเหตุของปัญหาเกิดจากขนาดพาเลทไม้มาตรฐานที่ใช้ในกลุ่มประเทศอียูมีขนาดเล็กกว่าขนาดพาเลทไม้มาตรฐานที่ใช้ประเทศไทย ดังนั้นจึงมีการเปลี่ยนรูปแบบการวางกล่องสินค้าพบพาเลทไม้ใหม่โดยมิให้เกินขอบพาเลท หลังจากการปรับรูปแบบการเรียงกล่องสินค้าใหม่แล้วจะช่วยลดจำนวนพาเลทที่เรียงไม่ได้ประสิทธิภาพและสามารถช่วยลดค่าใช้จ่ายด้านค่าเช่าพาเลทกับค่าเคลื่อนย้ายพาเลทของคลังสินค้าได้เท่ากับ 24.29% ของปี Y0 และ 21.65% ของปี Y1 โดยไม่ส่งผลกระทบต่อค่าใช้จ่ายด้านแรงงาน

Infectious ulcerative keratitis is one of the significant ocular diseases in dogs leading to aggressive damage of the cornea and possibly loss of vision. Canine amniotic membrane (CAM) transplant revealed satisfactory result in canine complicated ulcers. However, antimicrobial activity of CAM has not yet been elucidated. This study is to assess antimicrobial activities of fresh CAM on bacteria associated with ulcerative keratitis and to investigate antimicrobial peptide genes expression. งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาเว็บไซต์สำหรับเขียนแผนธุรกิจที่สนับสนุนนวัตกรรมสำหรับนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี การเขียนแผนธุรกิจถือได้ว่าเป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมที่สำคัญของการเป็นผู้ประกอบการและมีความเกี่ยวข้องกับกิจกรรมหลักของการศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษามากขึ้นเรื่อย ๆ ในการศึกษานี้ได้เสนอ Collaborative Website ชื่อ BRAINY Business Model การศึกษาข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณจากแบบสอบถามของนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี 432 คน (นักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 และปีที่ 4 จาก 11 มหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทย) ในแง่ของเนื้อหาต่างๆ และการเข้าใช้ระบบ ผู้ใช้ต้องการจะสามารถเข้าใช้งานเว็บไซต์ได้โดยไม่ต้องจ่ายเงินในระดับสูงสุด (Mean = 4.375, S.D. = 1.003) และข้อมูลเชิงคุณภาพจากการสัมภาษณ์กลุ่มเป้าหมาย (นักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรี 11 คน ซึ่งมีประสบการณ์ในการแข่งขันแผนธุรกิจ) พบว่า มีความสนใจใช้เว็บไซต์นี้ ผลการวิจัยยังชี้ให้เห็นถึงความต้องการในการเข้าถึงเว็บไซต์โดยมีระบบความปลอดภัย และต้องการดูวิดีโอสั้นๆ จุดเด่นของระบบนี้คือการเพิ่มเครื่องมือที่ช่วยให้นักเรียนมีความคิดสร้างสรรค์ในการค้นหานวัตกรรมซึ่งก็คือ TRIZ ที่ให้แนวทางเชิงตรรกะในการพัฒนาความคิดสร้างสรรค์สำหรับนวัตกรรมและการแก้ปัญหา ในส่วนของการทดลองใช้เว็บไซต์นี้ ผู้วิจัยใช้รูปแบบกึ่งทดลอง แบ่งผู้เรียนเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ กลุ่มทดลองที่ได้ใช้เว็บไซต์นี้ และกลุ่มควบคุมที่ใช้เว็บไซต์อื่น ผลการทดสอบสมมติฐาน พบว่า กลุ่มทดลองมีคะแนนในด้านต่างๆ สูงกว่ากลุ่มควบคุมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ ได้แก่ ด้านระดับความใหม่ของผลิตภัณฑ์ ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ ความเกี่ยวข้องสอดคล้องกับ Theme งาน คือ เรื่องเกี่ยวกับผลิตภัณฑ์ใหม่ที่จะตอบสนองแนวโน้มที่เกิดในสังคมได้ และความถูกต้องทางวิชาการ ส่วนด้านเชิงพาณิชย์ ไม่มีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ และจากการศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ทางการเงินของการลงทุนผลิตระบบนวัตกรรมนี้มีค่า NPV เท่ากับ 1,990,434.49 บาท IRR เท่ากับ 47.86% และระยะเวลาคืนทุน 2 ปี 4 เดือน

There is a growing interest on novel energetic materials called Nanoenergetic Gas- Generators (NGGs) which are potential alternatives to traditional energetic materials including pyrotechnics, propellants, primers and solid rocket fuels. One unanswered question about the binary neutron star coalescence GW170817 is the nature of its post-merger remnant. A previous search for post-merger gravitational waves targeted high-frequency signals from a possible neutron star remnant with a maximum signal duration of 500 s. Here, we revisit the neutron star remnant scenario and focus on longer signal durations, up until the end of the second Advanced LIGO-Virgo observing run, which was 8.5 days after the coalescence of GW170817. The main physical scenario for this emission is the power-law spindown of a massive magnetar-like remnant. We use four independent search algorithms with varying degrees …

We present the results of a search for short- and intermediate-duration gravitational-wave signals from four magnetar bursts in Advanced LIGO’s second observing run. We find no evidence of a signal and set upper bounds on the root sum squared of the total dimensionless strain (hrss) from incoming intermediate-duration gravitational waves ranging from 1.1 × 10−22 at 150 Hz to 4.4 × 10−22 at 1550 Hz at 50% detection efficiency. From the known distance to the magnetar SGR 1806–20 (8.7 kpc), we can place upper bounds on the isotropic gravitational-wave energy of 3.4 × 10^-44 erg at 150 Hz assuming optimal …

Social anxiety is common among adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). An ongoing challenge for both research and clinical practice in ASD is the assessment of anxious symptomatology. Despite its widespread use in samples of youth with ASD, the Social Anxiety Scale for Adolescents (SAS-A) has not received psychometric evaluation within this population; thus, the validity of its use in research and clinical practice for ASD remains unclear. The present study conducted a psychometric analysis of caregiver and adolescent SAS-A forms in a sample of adolescents with ASD (N = 197).
