In order to ensure the safe running of the special railway for Guozhuang coal mine, the law of surface movement and deformation in goaf of the coal mine was studied on the basis of the analysis of the actual observation data, the monitoring scheme and control measures of railway under dynamic coal mining conditions were put forward in accordance with that. For conquering limitation that the traditional Nishihara model cannot describe the accelerated creep characteristics of coal body, according to the visco-elastic-plastic flow characteristics of coal in the accelerated creep stage, a nonlinear visco-elastic-plastic model was used to replace the ideal viscoelastic-plastic body in Nishihara model to establish the improved Nishihara acceleration model. And creep equation of the improved model under equal confining pressure triaxial condition was also deduced. Afterwards, the improved accelerated creep model was analyzed by the creep test data of coal specimens in the triaxial creep tests using the method of model identification. Objectives: To evaluate the effects of adding dried guava waste and dried olive cake as substitution of alfalfa in diet on rabbit farm profits. Design: Randomized controlled experimental study. The rock occurrence environment and structural characteristics determine its strength criteria, and affects the mechanical and deformation characteristics of surrounding rock. This paper analyzes the accuracy of the recently developed one-equation k-kL turbulence model with Quadratic Constitutive Relation (QCR) compared to the linear Boussinesq relation and Algebraic Reynolds Stress Model (ARSM). The computational results in several benchmark cases from NASA TMR are compared to other widely used one equation turbulence models with QCR, such as Spalart-Allmaras model (SA), Wray-Agarwal model (WA) and SST k-ω model. In particular, one-equation k-kL-QCR model shows good accuracy with experimental data for supersonic flow in a square duct where the effect of QCR is clearly visible in capturing the secondary flow vortices which is not feasible …

Objective: To evaluate the effects of different light colour temperatures on egg production parameters and heat shock protein gene expression (HSP 27) in Fayoumi chicken layers. Animals: 165 Fayoumi healthy pullets (17 weeks). Design: Randomized-controlled experimental study. Fiber-reinforced composites have been widely employed in structural applications due to their high stiffness-to-weight ratio and easily-tailored mechanical properties. However, manufacturing of these lightweight materials involves an infusion and curing process, and flow-induced defects and residual stresses can easily occur, which can compromise the mechanical performance of the composite structures. Although white clover (Trifolium repens) is the most widely used legume in grazed pastures of temperate and sub-tropical regions, it is severely restricted in genetic diversity for adaptive traits to low soil fertility and other stress environments, including drought. The objective of this research was to transfer traits for wider adaptation from other clover species by hybridisation. Eight Trifolium species with contrasting adaptations were shown by DNA sequence phylogenetics to be closely related to white clover. Interspecific hybridisation was undertaken among these species using embryo rescue, and an array of partially fertile F1 hybrids was obtained. Population development …

Through a comparative and multi-sited ethnography in Cusco (Peru) and Bolivia, the article shows how, by mobilizing Andean textiles, local actors are weaving social change(s) while also changing the way of weaving. These two ideas are interwoven: 1) Andean textiles contribute to local population to weave social change(s) by bringing alternative economic opportunities; 2) weaving practices are changing, since new fashionable, industrial, and “hybrid” production has been created and adapted to an urban-oriented/tourist-oriented market which provides money to make the social change(s) possible.

Illness As Political Metaphor In Modernist Arts In Iran, Katrin Nahidi

This article explores a political reading of Iranian modernism and analyses art works through the lens of illness as metaphor. This metaphor first emerged in the discourse of gharbzadegi (westoxification) in the 1960s, when the intellectual Jalal al-e Ahmad likened Iran's adaptation of Western modernity to being infected with a highly contagious disease. This article investigates the visual traces of illness as political metaphor in the works of Jalil Ziapour, Bahman Mohassess, Forough Farrokhzad, and Vincenzo Bianchini, while highlighting how these artists reflected one of the most substantial political discourses of their time.

The notion of modernity as a tabula rasa phenomenon that destroys the present in order to build the future is particularly complicated in the case of non-Western settings, where modernization was often understood as erasing local culture in favor of a template borrowed from the West. Historiographies of non-Western arts have mostly followed such a model, viewing fine arts, associated with modernity, as opposed to “traditional” arts, often commodified in the production of nostalgia or marketed for tourists. This article discusses the complexity of art production in non-Western contexts, beyond such reductive classifications.

This article discusses the phenomenon of floating art exhibitions based on the examples of the Argentinian exposición flotante and the Australian Pacific Loan Exhibition (both 1956). They manifested themselves at the same time as the “second wave of biennials” and can be interpreted as floating national pavilions. Through a spatial analysis of the routes taken across the open ocean, it is shown how the ships’ movements form what can be understood as a ‘negative map’ of canonical art history, oriented around the North Atlantic. From Enemy Asset To National Showcase: France’S Seizure And Circulation Of The Matsukata Collection (1944-1958), Léa Saint-Raymond, Maxime Georges Métraux

Sequestered by the French State as an "enemy asset" in 1944, Kojiro Matsukata’s collection was used as a national showcase through exhibitions until 1958. Few catalogues were transparent as to the works’ provenance from the collection. When we map and visualize this historical information, a significant contrast appears between the “real” circulation of artworks, as recorded in governmental archives, and the "official" circulation listed in catalogues. This discrepancy points to a propaganda effort in such a way as to bolster an artistic narrative that was key to French national pride, and studying it can further explain why the French decided …
