Degraded Land Analyses Of Brantas River Basin To Support Land Rehabilitation, Nining Wahyuningrum, Pamungkas Buana Putra
Jurnal Penelitian Kehutanan Wallacea
Land degradation in the Brantas River Basin occurs very massively as reflected by high erosion and sedimentation. Information related to soil erosion is important since it is one of the basic information in determining the degraded land in a watershed. The purpose of this study was to analyze and identify the distribution of degraded land in the Brantas river basin as an effort to mitigate land degradation through forests and land rehabilitation in suitable locations. Erosion analysis was carried out spatially on a watershed scale using the USLE (Universal Soil Lost Equation) method. Analyses showed that weighted soil erosion values …

Analysis Of Post-Translational Modifications And Expression Of Stat3 Under Desferrioxamine Induced Hypoxia In Human Neuroblastoma Cells, Veronica Harrison
Seton Hall University Dissertations and Theses (ETDs)
ABSTRACT:
Oxygen homeostasis is critical for optimal energy production in eukaryotic organisms. The signal transduction pathways involved with detection and mitigation of hypoxia have been carefully scrutinized in an effort to elucidate how metabolism and survival is maintained. Characterization of these pathways and their involvement in physiological processes such as blood cell production in the bone marrow and microvessel formation in developing embryos provides a model of how these functions are executed. Less well-characterized mechanisms in disease states such as solid tumors still confound researchers whose efforts to find effective treatments are falling short. Cancer cells exploit the activities …

Floral Preformation In The Warming Boreal Forest: The Effects Of Temperature On The Development Of Vaccinium Vitis-Idaea, Eileen Schaub
Master's Theses
The boreal forest is experiencing climate change at twice the rate of other regions. Although changes in flowering phenology are a known consequence of warming temperatures, much is unknown about the effects of temperature anomalies on floral development. Boreal angiosperms preform flowers a year or more in advance and are consequently subject to varied environmental conditions across that time. My thesis examines the effects of temperature on floral development in order to understand how boreal taxa will respond to climate change.
Collection of Vaccinium vitis-idaeafrom natural populations in Fairbanks, Alaska was carried out over the growing seasons of 2017 …

Absorption Capability Of A 645-Nm Diode Laser On Swine Soft Tissue Samples: A Preliminary Study In An Ex-Vivo Model, Giulia Ghidini, Paolo Vescovi, Marco Meleti, Setti Giacomo, Sala Alessandro, Sala Roberto
Journal of Dentistry Indonesia
Most published articles have highlighted several positive effects of low-level laser therapy on tissues; however, to our knowledge, no studies have investigated the depth to which a light beam penetrates cell layers of an irradiated tissue. To date, it is unclear if the laser reaches cells and how many of the cells can be reached in the tissues underlying the oral mucosa. This is of paramount importance as the effect of a laser at a particular depth (e.g., the periosteum and/or bone) should be measurable and predictable to some extent Objectives: The present preliminary ex vivo study aimed to assess …
