Positive language is a crucial communication tool, both within the family environment and in external circumstances. Previous research endeavors have evidenced that the inculcation of positive language by parents is effective in building positive character in their children. Thus, language is not merely a communication tool; it is also a means of personality development. However, this application cannot be realized if parents are unaware. Therefore, the community service activity proposed in this paper aims to broaden and strengthen mindful parenting, and to enhance the discernment of positive language in parents to help them build positive character in their children. Department of Mathematics: Faculty Publications

One quarter of veterans returning from the 1990–1991 Persian Gulf War have developed Gulf War Illness (GWI) with chronic pain, fatigue, cognitive and gastrointestinal dysfunction. Exertion leads to characteristic, delayed onset exacerbations that are not relieved by sleep. We have modeled exertional exhaustion by comparing magnetic resonance images from before and after submaximal exercise. One third of the 27 GWI participants had brain stem atrophy and developed postural tachycardia after exercise (START: Stress Test Activated Reversible Tachycardia). The remainder activated basal ganglia and anterior insulae during a cognitive task (STOPP: Stress Test Originated Phantom Perception). Here, the role of attention …

Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis: Diagnosis And Management, Lusiana Lusiana, Hikari Ambara Sjakti, Githa Rahmayunita, Tjut Nurul Alam Jacoeb, Inge Ade Krisanti

Journal of General - Procedural Dermatology and Venereology Indonesia

Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare disorder characterized by abnormal clonal proliferation of Langerhans dendritic cells. The incidence of LCH is 1 to 3 cases per 1 million children worldwide, and occurs most frequently in children of 1–4 years of age. The etiopathogenesis of LCH, whether it is neoplastic or reactive, is still controversial. Langerhans cell histiocytosis has a wide spectrum of clinical features, and dermatological abnormalities usually occur early. The most frequent lesions are elevated yellowish-red translucent papules about 1–2 mm in diameter and generally located in seborrheic areas. The most recent classification (the Histiocyte Society study 2017) …

Reintroduction Of The Kihansi Spray Toad Nectophrynoides Asperginis Back To Its Natural Habitat By Using Acclimatizing Cages, Charles A. Msuya, Nassoro Mohamed

Tanzania Journal of Science

The Kihansi Spray Toad (Nectophrynoides asperginis) is considered to be extinct in the wild. Captive breeding populations exist in Bronx and Toledo zoos in USA and in two captive breeding facilities in Tanzania. Efforts to reintroduce the species back to its natural habitat at Kihansi Gorge wetlands have become a long process. Both ex-situ and in-situ experiments have revealed promising outcomes but when the toads are freely (hard) released in the wetlands they disperse widely and detection becomes difficult.  Cages for acclimatising the toads before hard release have been constructed in two of the Kihansi Gorge spray wetlands. Factors such …

Behind The Trash: A Qualitative Research On How Trash Pickers In Cirendeu Area Contribute To Recycling, Mana Kakinuma

Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development

Trash is one of the most serious environmental issues. People strive to solve the problem with reducing the use of plastic and figuring out the method to recycle efficiently; however, the story of trash pickers is barely on the topic. The problems are the ignorance and underestimation of the society. People should consider the integrated solution for both the environment and those trash pickers. The ideal solution would be formalizing waste disposal system, officially hire trash pickers for their stable life, and let their children access to education for brighter future. This discussion will examine the importance of understanding the …

Living In A “Broken World”: Destructive Desire, Disconnected Disciplinarity, And Disruptive Deschooling, M. Nadarajah

Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development

This paper is trying to show that our current situation on Earth is going to collapse phase and broken. Sustainable Development Program (SDG) can’t give real action to resolve environmental, social, and economic problems such as poverty, biodiversity extinction, health, war and genocide, climate change, etc. On the other hand, the author describes that SDG only focuses on the technical solution and randomly decided criteria and standards for defining knowledge. Therefore, the author is seeking to encourage SDGs to see the problem from a wider point of view on this paper.
