Introduction Presbycusis or age-related sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) is a complex disorder that results in a slow deterioration in auditory function. A considerably high number of these patients with presbycusis or age-related SNHL also experience dizziness and related vestibular symptoms. Although auditory and vestibular systems are distinct, they work just alike. So, there is a great relation among their functions. Once one is stimulated, the other experiences changes as well. Improvement Of Diastolic Dysfunction After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention In Patients With Ischemic Cardiomyopathy, Amir S. M. Melika

Introduction Impaired systolic cardiac function in patients with ischemic cardiac disease is well known. Diastolic cardiac dysfunction is also found in these patients, so we aimed to show whether percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) could improve diastolic function. Patients and methods Twenty patients with chronic ischemic cardiomyopathy (with cardiac ejection fraction <45%) were examined at baseline and at 2 weeks after PCI diastolic function was evaluated by transmitral pulsed wave Doppler. Results Before PCI 60% of patients (12 patients) showed nonrestrictive filling pattern and 40% of patients (eight patients) showed restrictive filling pattern. Following PCI, diastolic function showed an improvement in most patients with only two patients still having an restrictive filling pattern. This article discusses the framework of selective distribution agreements within EU competition law following the Coty Germany case and the EU Commission’s 2017 E-commerce report. It argues that the judgment removed, in essence, the limitation of sales via online platforms from the ‘by object box’. In respect of luxury goods, the ban is considered not to infringe competition law at all. In this context, the article addresses one of the judgment’s key points: what constitutes a ‘luxury good’ and evaluates to what an extent this definition can be practically applied. In this paper, we develop a method for the simultaneous estimation of spectral density functions (SDFs) for a collection of stationary time series that share some common features. Due to the similarities among the SDFs, the log‐SDF can be represented using a common set of basis functions. The basis shared by the collection of the log‐SDFs is estimated as a low‐dimensional manifold of a large space spanned by a prespecified rich basis. A collective estimation approach pools information and borrows strength across the SDFs to achieve better estimation efficiency. Background Auditory brainstem response (ABR) using click stimuli enables global objective estimation of hearing threshold. The application of chirp stimuli aims to produce synchronized response from large portion of hair cells in the basilar membrane. The chirp was designed to produce simultaneous displacement maxima along the cochlear partition by compensating for frequency-dependent traveling-time differences. Background It is well known that alloimmunization to red blood cell antigens resulting from the genetic disparities between the donor and the recipient is one of the risks of blood transfusion. Alloimmunization can result in clinical hemolysis and difficulty in cross-matching blood. To maximize the use of tobacco extract on topical use as an antibacterial, it could be formulated into a pharmaceutical preparation. This study aimed to formulate tobacco extract in gel preparation by using Hidroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) as a gelling agent and to test its activity on S. mutans. Karas (Aquilaria malaccensis Lamk.) leaves contain secondary metabolite such as alkaloid, flavonoid, phenol, antraquinone, and triterpenoid. Flavonoid compound has anti inflammatory activity. This research was conducted to investigate the effective anti inflammatory dose from the reduction of rat paw edema using plethismometer. Karas leaves was macerated with 96% ethanol and then evaporated until crude extract was obtained. يهدف البحث الحالي الى قياس واختبار دور ممارسات الموارد البشرية الدولية التي تمتلكها العينة المبحوثة لمعالجة مشاكل الاغتراب الوظيفي الذي يعانيه العاملين المتمثل بـ (ضعف القدرة على التأثير, وضياع المعنى, ونقص المعايير, وضعف العلاقات مع الاخرين, وغربة الذات), واعتمد البحث على الاستبانة كأداة رئيسة لجمع البيانات الضرورية واللازمة لتحقيق هدفها. اذ تم توزيع (60) استمارة لتحديد مستوى توافر ادارة الموارد البشرية الدولية والاغتراب الوظيفي, وتم استرجاع (53) استمارة، فضلا عن استعمال مجموعة من الاساليب الاحصائية متمثل بالوسط الحسابي الموزون، والانحراف المعياري، ومعامل الارتباط البسيط سبيرمان، ومعامل الانحدار البسيط والمتعدد. وأظهرت نتائج البحث وجود علاقة ارتباط موجبة ذات دلالة إحصائية بين …
