We present a detailed analysis of new Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) observations of the disk around the T-Tauri star HD 143006, which at 46 mas (7.6 au) resolution reveals new substructures in the 1.25 mm continuum emission. The disk resolves into a series of concentric rings and gaps, together with a bright arc exterior to the rings that resembles hydrodynamical simulations of a vortex and a bridge-like feature connecting the two innermost rings. Although our 12CO observations at similar spatial resolution do not show obvious substructure, they reveal an inner disk depleted of CO emission. From the continuum emission …

Phenotypic And Transcriptomic Characterization Of Colonial Phase Variation In The Cholera Pathogen Reveals A Novel Smooth Biofilm-Defective Form, Bliss Nicole Lambert
LSU Doctoral Dissertations
Biofilm formation, through the production of Vibrio polysaccharide (VPS), greatly enhances the environmental fitness and pathogenic success of Vibrio cholerae. As a result of phase variation, V. cholerae can switch from a smooth form to rugose, whose cells produce excess VPS, resulting in highly structured biofilms and greater resistance to stress. To further characterize the reversible process of phase variation, we isolated three colonial lineages. Each lineage began with a smooth parent, N16961, and contained a rugose variant derived from the parent, N16961R, as well as a smooth revertant of the rugose, N16961SD. We found clear phenotypic and transcriptomic …

We performed a kinematically complete experiment on double ionization accompanied by single capture in 30 keV/amu He2+ + Ar collisions. The data were systematically analyzed using three different techniques, namely, fully differential cross sections as a function of the electron emission angle of each electron, the correlation function, and four-particle Dalitz plots. The data can to a large extent be explained within the independent electron model. However, the correlation function reveals small but significant effects from correlations in the initial target state. These correlations strongly depend on the interaction between the nuclei of the collision partners. Furthermore, a surprisingly …

Chemical Technology, Control and Management
There have been determined the composition of liquid complex fertilizers based on low concentrated wet-processing phosphoric acid from washed and calcinated phosphoconcentrated of Kyzylkum. The density and viscosity of the liquid fertilizers were studied at wide temperatures (30-80оС). It was given the list of chemical compounds generated at ammonization of wet-processing phosphoric acid with various impurities. In order to reduce precipitation of residues during the neutralization 26% aqua suspension of bentonite was used as suspendered agent in amount of 1 to 3%. Rheological properties of the nitrogen-phosphate solution show that they are in liquid condition.

Estimation Of The Covariation Matrix Of Disturbances At The Entrance Of The Controlled Object On The Basis Of Iterative Algorithms ., O.O Zaripov, O.P Shukurova
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The problems of formation and construction of stable algorithms for estimating the covariance matrices of input disturbances of the control object based on the methods of successive approximations are considered. Algorithms for the stable estimation of covariance matrices of perturbations at the input of an object are presented based on the concepts of iterative algorithms. The regular algorithms given above make it possible to produce a stable estimation of the covariance matrix of the object noise based on the concepts of the synthesis of adaptive filters and thereby increase the accuracy of the adaptive estimation procedure.

Two-Level Fuzzy Adaptive Regulation Of Dynamic Objects ., I.Kh Sidikov, B.U Shomirzaev
Chemical Technology, Control and Management
The questions of constructing and tuning adaptive fuzzy PID-controllers that are widely used in automatic control systems of technological processes in various industries are considered. The method of fuzzy adaption of regulator settings, taking into account the nonlinear properties of the object, is proposed. The optimal values of the PID controller parameters and fuzzy adaptation factor coefficients are determined, which ensure the required quality of the transient process in a closed system with a fuzzy adaptive regulator

To assess risks in fuzzy conditions, it is proposed to supplement the system of constraints of a standard decision-making task with a set of restrictions on possible losses, namely, for selected scenarios, to build a model of their consequences (damages) as functions of control parameters and impose expert limitations on an acceptable level of relative damage for each scenario.

In order to optimize the delay time of information flows in the nodes, multiservice networks propose the application of the theory of fuzzy sets, with the help of which models are developed for calculating the delay time, taking into account the inaccuracy of time, simple, correct operation and aging of information. A fuzzy model for calculating the average message delay time through communication nodes in multiservice networks is given, with each channel of switching nodes being modeled as a queuing network. A single-criterion problem of the optimal distribution of information flows over the channels of switching nodes with ill-defined data …

The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array observations of protoplanetary disks acquired by the Disk Substructure at High Angular Resolution Project resolve the dust and gas emission on angular scales as small as 3 astronomical units, offering an unprecedented detailed view of the environment where planets form. In this Letter, we present and discuss observations of the HD 163296 protoplanetary disk that imaged the 1.25 mm dust continuum and 12CO J = 2–1 rotational line emission at a spatial resolution of 4 and 10 au, respectively. The continuum observations resolve and allow us to characterize the previously discovered dust rings at radii …

Quantifying Bee Assemblages And Attractiveness Of Flowering Woody Landscape Plants For Urban Pollinator Conservation, Bernadette M. Mach, Daniel A. Potter
Entomology Faculty Publications
Urban and suburban landscapes can be refuges for biodiversity of bees and other pollinators. Public awareness of declining pollinator populations has increased interest in growing plants that provide floral resources for bees. Various publications and websites list “bee-friendly” plants, but such lists are rarely based on empirical data, nor do they emphasize flowering trees and shrubs, which are a major component of urban landscapes. We quantified bee visitation to 72 species of flowering woody landscape plants across 373 urban and suburban sites in Kentucky and southern Ohio, USA, sampling and identifying the bee assemblages associated with 45 of the most …

The results of the study have shown that moral differences existed in the chemical characteristics in all study stations. It also shows that the concentrations of water pollutants rise above the levels and exceeded health determinants permitted by the World Health Organization. The existence of a variation has also exhibited plainly and most concentrations of chemical characteristics rise during July as well.

The modern critical methods sought to generalize their procedural tools to be valid for reading texts that belong to different walks of life. Perhaps the critical mechanisms that proved their presence in the modern critical arena were presented by the theoreticians of the semantic approach to provide effective tools to enable critics of comprehension. It seems that this study reflects the availability of two requirements required by a successful study i.e. the division and tabulation of the subject (Metn) together with the procedural tools, the Metn is a movie space for a short film in which the director takes the …

After the grammarians had explored the utterance of the Arabs and put its regulations and rules, they realized that there are many “irregular” texts in the Qur`an and in the poetry and prose of the Arabs which go “out” of the general arrangement and the uniform meter. They tried to trace back these texts to the circle of "ruling" by different ways; till Ibn Jinni said, "that you find in too many cases of poetry and prose both [word] parsing and meaning struggling; this is calling you for something, and that is preventing you from it. Whenever they quarrel for …

Through the history of the Zionist-Arab conflict, the Zionist aggression has established a controversy issue, due to the impact on the Arab and regional security. Clearly, such aggression has affected most of the Arab lands, not only in the Palestinian territories. Accordingly, Arab attitudes have demonstrated a great importance to give a clear perception about the nature of the evolution of the Zionist-Arab conflict.
