This article presents the research results of the rotation frequency influence of a pneumatic spinning machine’s drum on the quality indicators of the yarn produced with a linear density of 29 tex. With the rotation frequency increase of the sampling drums, the specific breaking load of the yarn increases to 11.1 cN / tex, elongation to 6.3%, while reducing the coefficient of variation of the breaking load to 9.2%.

The low temperature (Т=2К) spectra of specular reflection of light from CdS crystals covered with Langmuir-Blodgett films containing the different number of organic monolayers have been studied. The influence of the film thickness on resonant exсitonic spectra was analysed for the case of oblique incidence of light. The effect of a strong near-surface localization of the exciton polarization is found to occur in the vicinity of the frequency 2548.2 meV, which is indicative of direct impact of the film upon the exciton wave function structure near the interface

Objective The main objective of the article is to determine the relative direct financial cost and benefit of an advanced practice provider (APP), optometrist, and faculty ophthalmologist compared with an ophthalmology resident.

Design Single center cost–benefit financial analysis.

Methods The direct total expenses, including mean salary and benefits; the cost/week, based upon calculated hours worked; and net revenue, based upon technical collections subtracted from total expenses were collected for all APPs, optometrists, faculty ophthalmologists, and ophthalmology residents at the University of Kentucky for the 2016 to 2017 academic year. Transient transmission oscillations in X-cut and Z-cut congruent, iron-doped, and magnesium-doped lithium niobate samples were measured using 50 fs, 800 nm, 0.5 nJ pulses from a self-mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser in an optical pump–probe system. Several Raman-active oscillation modes excited by these pulses were observed as changes in the transmitted probe intensity versus time delay between the pump and probe pulses. The samples were rotated to determine how the incident polarization of the pump pulses affects the mode excitations. The observed Raman-active oscillations correspond to previously reported symmetry modes measured with traditional, continuous-wave, Raman spectroscopy using the same scattering …

The aim of this study was to investigate the growth characteristics of microalgae strains isolated from Kendari Bay and the Wanggu River estuary, Indonesia. The growth of the isolates, denoted as Kb1-2, Kb1-3, Kb1-5, and Kb2-6, were evaluated under controlled conditions. A batch culture experiment of these strains except Kb2-6 was conducted for 15 days under salinity levels of 20, 25, 30 and 35 gL-1. Tetraselmis chui, Tisochrysis lutea and Chaetocero sneogracile were also culture and used as the growth references.
