Porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) is a recently identified swine virus with currently unknown pathogenesis. To date, PCV3 has been found in many countries, indicating the wide spread of the virus. Therefore, there is an urgent need to clarify the detrimental role of PCV3. To better understand how PCV3 might influence the pig industry, various perspectives in swine production cycle should be considered. Multicentric lymphoma is the most common hematopoietic tumors in dogs. Both B- or T-lymphocyte clones can originate to lymphoma. A gold standard method to differentiate each lymphocyte lineage is immunohistochemistry (IHC) by detecting specific proteins of B and T cell. A protein marker for T and B cells is CD3 and CD79a, respectively. However, another pan pre B-cell marker is Pax5 or B-cell specific activator protein. It is more specific and sensitive than CD79a because it expresses only in B-cell lymphoma cases. Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) is an economically significant swine disease having a negative impact to the swine industry worldwide. Appropriate management strategies and diagnostic tests are crucial to successfully control PRRS virus (PRRSV). However, the application for oral fluid-based diagnosis has not been evaluated in the Thai farms previously. In this study, pre-extraction methods of oral fluids were evaluated to improve the PCR product yielded. Moreover, the oral fluids utilization for PRRSV monitoring during the gilt acclimatization and farrowing to nursery period was investigated. This study aimed at determine prevalence and concentration of Streptococcus suis contamination in pork production chains as well as evaluate the health risk attributable to S. suis serotype 2 from pork consumption in Thailand. In total, 492 pig-to-pork and 480 environmental samples were collected from 4 pork production chains in Bangkok. Besides, total 1,036 pork samples were also collected from traditional and modern trades in Chiangmai, Phayao, Nan, Khonkaen, Mukdahan, Saraburi, Nakhonpathom, and Phang-nga provinces. Risk estimates are evaluated by using quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) which is a scientific tool. The methodology can be applied to model of human adverse health effect associated with K. pneumoniae and ciprofloxacin-resistant K. pneumoniae (CRKP) from pork consumption in Bangkok. The effects of dexmedetomidine combined with pethidine on the minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of isoflurane and cardiorespiratory variables in dogs were evaluated in thirty client-owned, healthy adult male dogs scheduled for castration at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University. The study investigated the relationship of degree of patellar luxation of dogs with joint radiography, intra-articular degenerative change of the stifle with medial patellar luxation (MPL), histopathologic change, and biomarker index. Thirty-eight stifles were divided into four groups: normal stifle joints (4), grades 2 (13), 3 (12), and 4 (9) MPL. Demographic data, lameness score, and degree of patellar luxation of all dogs were assessed and recorded. Radiographs were taken to assess osteophyte formation. Brachycephalic airway obstruction syndrome (BAOS) is life threatening condition in brachycephalic dogs. Surgical correction of primary disorders including elongated soft palate and stenotic nares is indicated in all cases. Aim of this study was to compare the use of the ultrasonic scalpel with the conventional incision technique for staphylectomy. Twenty dogs with BAOS enrolled in this study were randomly assigned into conventional (N=10) or ultrasonic group (N=10). Respiratory score was evaluated and recorded prior to surgery. This research aims to assess the quality and potential of Google Translate when used as an English-to-Thai Machine Interpreting (MI) tool. The paper explores MI’s distinct definitions and terminology as well as its relationship to other relevant technologies, i.e. Machine Translation (MT), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), and Text-to-Speech (TTS). Four five-minute English-language recordings from the European Commission's Directorate General for Interpretation Speech Repository were selected as samples for the MI to interpret. สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการทำบทบรรยายใต้ภาพสองภาษาเพื่อการสอนภาษาอังกฤษผ่านทางเว็บไซต์ Youtube และเพื่อวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยอื่น ๆ ที่อาจมีผลต่อการจัดทำบทบรรยายใต้ภาพในรายการต่าง ๆ ต้นฉบับที่นำมาศึกษาคือรายการ ภายใต้ช่องรายการ Sacross Peachii รายการ Loukgolf’s English Room (ผ่านทางช่อง GMM25) และรายการ Hello English (ผ่านทางช่อง NJ Digital) จำนวน 30 ตอนซึ่งออกอากาศในพ.ศ. 2560 การวิจัยฉบับนี้ได้นำบทบรรยายใต้ภาพของทั้งสามรายการมาเปรียบเทียบและวิเคราะห์รูปแบบบทบรรยายใต้ภาพซึ่งทำโดยมือสมัครเล่น การใช้บทบรรยายใต้ภาพในการช่วยสอนภาษา และการทำหน้าที่สื่อพลเมืองของรายการ นอกจากนี้ ยังมีการศึกษาวิเคราะห์ปัจจัยที่อาจมีผลต่อการจัดทำบทบรรยายใต้ภาพ อันได้แก่ ทัศนคติของผู้ผลิต กลุ่มผู้ชม แนวโน้มและกระแสของสังคม และ ผลตอบรับและข้อเสนอแนะของผู้รับชมรายการ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ทั้งสามรายการนั้นมีการจัดทำบทบรรยายใต้ภาพในรูปแบบที่ไม่เป็นทางการ โดยทั้งสามรายการมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงรูปแบบของบทบรรยายใต้ภาพ สี ขนาด การเพิ่มข้อมูลและการใช้เครื่องหมายต่าง ๆ ภายในบทบรรยายใต้ภาพ โดยมีเป้าหมายหลักในการเพิ่มบทบาทและหน้าที่ของบทบรรยายใต้ภาพให้เป็นเครื่องมือในการสอนภาษาเพิ่มเติมโดยไม่ยึดตามหลักเกณฑ์มาตรฐาน สำหรับปัจจัยอื่นที่มีผลต่ออการจัดทำบทบรรยายใต้ภาพนั้น จากการศึกษาพบว่า ทั้งสามรายการต่างมีเป้าหมายเพื่อเปลี่ยนทัศนคติของคนทั่วไปในเรื่องการเรียนภาษา รวมทั้งทำให้ภาษาอังกฤษนั้นเข้าถึงได้ง่ายขึ้น โดยมีกลุ่มผู้ชมเป้าหมายเหมือนกัน คือการเข้าถึงคนหมู่มากให้ได้มากที่สุดและหยิบยกประแสสังคมในขณะนั้นขึ้นมาใช้ อีกทั้งยังมีการเปิดรับผลตอบรับและความคิดเห็นของผู้ชมผ่านทางช่องทางต่าง ๆ การศึกษายังค้นพบอีกว่า ทั้งสามรายการมีรายละเอียดของรูปแบบรายการที่แตกต่างกันออกไปตามเงื่อนไขและเจ้าของลิขสิทธิ์ตามกฎหมาย

สารนิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาทฤษฎีและกระบวนการทางศัพทวิทยา ตลอดจนระเบียบวิธีการประมวลศัพท์ และนำความรู้ที่ได้รับมาจัดทำประมวลศัพท์เรื่องระบบส่งกำลังรถยนต์ ประมวลศัพท์อันเป็นผลจากการวิจัยนี้มุ่งให้เกิดประโยชน์ในฐานะเครื่องมือสำหรับนักแปลในแวดวงยานยนต์ รวมทั้งเป็นแหล่งอ้างอิงสำหรับผู้ที่สนใจและบุคคลทั่วไป ในการประมวลศัพท์ครั้งนี้ ผู้จัดทำได้นำเอาทฤษฎีและแนวทางในการจัดทำประมวลศัพท์ที่นักศัพทวิทยาได้เสนอไว้มาประยุกต์ใช้ โดยแบ่งการดำเนินงานเป็น 6 ขั้นตอน คือ (1) กำหนดหัวข้อ วัตถุประสงค์ และขอบเขตในการจัดทำประมวลศัพท์ (2) ศึกษาทฤษฎี และระเบียบวิธีการทำประมวลศัพท์ (3) สร้างคลังข้อมูลภาษา ดึงและคัดเลือกศัพท์จากคลังข้อมูลภาษา (4) กำหนดมโนทัศน์สัมพันธ์ของศัพท์ทั้งหมด (5) จัดทำบันทึกข้อมูลศัพท์เบื้องต้น (6) จัดทำบันทึกข้อมูลศัพท์ ประมวลศัพท์เรื่องระบบส่งกำลังรถยนต์นี้ ประกอบด้วยศัพท์จำนวน 31 คำ โดยนำเสนอศัพท์ตามกลุ่มมโนทัศน์สัมพันธ์ ประกอบด้วยคำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ ศัพท์เทียบเคียงภาษาไทย ประเภททางไวยากรณ์ หมวดเรื่อง คำนิยาม บริบท หมายเหตุ รูปศัพท์อื่น ๆ และข้อมูลอ้างอิง

สารนิพนธ์เล่มนี้จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อศึกษาหากลวิธีการแปลนิยายภาพเรื่องซากา (Saga) ของ ไบรอัน เค วอว์น (Brian K. Vaughan) และฟิโอนา สเตเปิลส์ (Fiona Staples) เนื่องจากนิยายภาพ แตกต่างจากการแปลหนังสือทั่วไปตรงที่นอกจากการถ่ายทอดความหมายโดยคำนึงถึงความแตกต่างด้านสำนวนภาษาหรือวัฒนธรรมแล้ว ภาพก็เป็นองค์ประกอบสำคัญอีกประการหนึ่งซึ่งนักแปล ต้องพิจารณาด้วย จึงจำเป็นต้องปรับเปลี่ยนคำในบทแปลให้สอดคล้องกับภาพที่ปรากฎเพื่อให้ฟังดูเป็นธรรมชาติในภาษาปลายทาง ไม่ขัดกับสิ่งที่เห็นในภาพหรือสีหน้าของตัวละคร ความท้าทายอีกประการหนึ่งคือการจัดวางจำนวนคำในบทแปลให้พอดีกับกรอบคำพูดซึ่งมีขนาดจำกัดในต้นฉบับ ด้วยเหตุนี้ ผู้แปลจึงสนใจศึกษาประเด็นดังกล่าวโดยอาศัยทฤษฏีการแปลที่เกี่ยวข้องคือกรอบการวิเคราะห์และแปลนิยายภาพของเคลาส์ ไคน์เดิล (Klaus Kaindl) และใช้ทฤษฏีการวิเคราะห์หลากรูปแบบ (Multimodal Theory) ตามหลักการและแนวทางของมิคัล โบโรโด (Michal Borodo) ปรับเปลี่ยนวัจนภาษาจากต้นฉบับให้ได้บทแปลซึ่งเหมาะสมกับอวัจนภาษาที่ปรากฎเพื่อให้ได้บทแปลที่เหมาะสมกับภาพที่ปรากฎ ผลการวิจัยคือเมื่อปรับเปลี่ยนคำที่เป็นประเด็นในภาษาปลายทางตามประเภทการปรับเปลี่ยนที่โบโรโดได้แบ่งไว้ก็ทำให้ได้บทแปลที่เข้ากับทั้งภาพและบริบทในหน้านั้น อีกทั้งได้รับการปรับให้เหมาะสมกับพื้นฐานความรู้และวัฒนธรรมของผู้อ่านชาวไทย

สารนิพนธ์ฉบับนี้มุ่งศึกษาปัญหาการแปลคำซ้ำ ที่พบในวรรณกรรมเยาวชนเรื่อง เมื่อคุณตาคุณยายยังเด็ก เล่ม 1 ประพันธ์โดย ทิพย์วาณี สนิทวงศ์ ณ อยุธยา จากภาษาไทยเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ โดยใช้ต้นฉบับ 10 บทเป็นกรณีศึกษา ปัญหาการแปลคำซ้ำยังไม่ได้มีการศึกษาอย่างจริงจังเมื่อเทียบกับปัญหาการแปลจากภาษาไทยเป็นภาษาอังกฤษด้านอื่น ๆ ทั้ง ๆ ที่ไม้ยมกเป็นเครื่องหมายกำกับคำซ้ำที่มีการใช้อย่างแพร่หลายในภาษาไทยมาอย่างช้านาน นอกจากนี้กระบวนการซ้ำคำเพื่อสร้างคำใหม่ก็เป็นปรากฏการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นในหลาย ๆ ภาษา และทั้งภาษาไทยและภาษาอังกฤษก็มีการซ้ำคำเช่นกัน สารนิพนธ์นี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาขั้นตอนในการแปล วิเคราะห์ปัญหาในการแปล ตลอดจนนำเสนอแนวทางการแก้ปัญหานั้นเพื่อให้ได้บทแปลที่มีความสละสลวยทางภาษาและได้อรรถรสทัดเทียมกับต้นฉบับ ผู้วิจัยศึกษาทฤษฎีการแปลและแนวคิดต่าง ๆ อันได้แก่ แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับคำซ้ำภาษาไทย แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับคำซ้ำภาษาอังกฤษ ประเภทของความหมายของคำซ้ำภาษาไทย ประเภทของความหมายของคำซ้ำภาษาอังกฤษ แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับการแปลคำซ้ำ ทฤษฎีการแปลแบบยึดความหมาย ทฤษฎีสโคพอส และการวิเคราะห์วาทกรรม เพื่อช่วยในการวิเคราะห์ปัญหาที่พบในการแปล และค้นหาแนวการทางแก้ไขการแปลคำซำ หลังจากที่ได้ศึกษาทฤษฎีและแนวคิดข้างต้น ตลอดจนลงมือแปลบทที่เลือกมาศึกษาโดยยึดทฤษฎีการแปลแบบยึดความหมายเป็นสำคัญ ผู้วิจัยพบว่า แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับความหมายของคำซ้ำและแนวทางการแปลคำซ้ำของอาจารย์และผู้รู้หลาย ๆ ท่าน มีประโยชน์อย่างยิ่งในการพิจารณาคำซ้ำในแง่มุมทางโครงสร้างและการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางความหมายต่าง ๆ จนสามารถนำไปสู่การแปลคำซ้ำได้จริง

การประชุมในบริบทของประชาคมอาเซียนทวีจำนวนตามการพัฒนาและกรอบความร่วมมือที่เพิ่มขึ้นในภูมิภาคนี้ แต่อุปสรรคในการสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษยังคงเป็นประเด็นสำคัญที่ลดประสิทธิภาพการประชุม งานวิจัยนี้ได้เก็บข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์ผู้เกี่ยวข้องในการประชุมในบริบทอาเซียน พบว่าการกำหนดให้ใช้เฉพาะภาษาอังกฤษในที่ประชุม บ่อยครั้งกระทบต่อความเข้าใจเนื้อหาการประชุมและการมีส่วนร่วมของผู้เข้าร่วมจากแต่ละประเทศ โดยเฉพาะการประชุมในระดับปฏิบัติการมักได้รับผลกระทบมากที่สุดเพราะต้องเผชิญปัจจัยที่ทำให้การสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษเป็นอุปสรรค เช่น ปัจจัยด้านงบประมาณจ้างล่ามที่มีจำกัด ความสามารถใช้ภาษาอังกฤษของผู้เข้าร่วมประชุมที่หลากหลาย เป็นต้น ผลการวิเคราะห์บทสัมภาษณ์ยังชี้ว่าการจัดจ้างล่ามเพื่อลดอุปสรรคด้านการสื่อสารในที่ประชุมที่เหมาะสมที่สุดสำหรับประชาคมอาเซียนคือใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษากลางในการล่ามสู่ภาษาอื่นๆ ถึงกระนั้นก็ยังติดประเด็นเรื่องนโยบายของประชาคมอาเซียนเองที่กำหนดให้ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นภาษาทางการภาษาเดียว ไม่สนับสนุนให้มีการจ้างล่าม ซึ่งแตกต่างโดยสิ้นเชิงจากสหภาพยุโรปที่สนับสนุนหลักพหุภาษานิยมหรือนโยบายภาษาทางการและภาษาปฏิบัติการที่หลากหลาย ปัญหาดังกล่าวทำให้ผู้เกี่ยวข้องในการประชุมในบริบทอาเซียนต้องหาทางออกให้การสื่อสารในที่ประชุมเกิดขึ้นได้ด้วยวิธีต่างๆ ตามอัตภาพ นอกจากนี้ยังมีความเป็นไปได้น้อยมากที่ประชาคมอาเซียนจะจัดตั้งหน่วยงานอำนวยการล่ามในที่ประชุมเหมือนที่สหภาพยุโรปมี

This article proposes that Nini Towong, a Javanese game involving a possessed doll, is an involution of fifth-century Chinese spirit-basket divination. The investigation is less concerned with originist theories than it is a discussion of the Chinese in Indonesia. The Chinese have been in Southeast Asia from at least as early as the Ming era, yet Chinese contributions to Indonesian culture is an understudied area. The problem begins with the asymmetrical privileging of Indic over Sinic influences in early European scholarship, a situation which in turn reveals the prejudices that the Europeans brought to bear in their dealings with the …

This article tells the story of a contested provincial election for sheriff which took place in Norwich during 1627. In light of recent scholarly critiques of studies that frame the early-modern period in terms of binary opposites, this article demonstrates that 1620s political culture is hard to define in such stark terms. Through a close reading of the events, characters, and outcomes of the election, this article also shows the importance of embedding local peculiarities into wider historiographical narratives of change, or continuity, and reveals the essential role of the urban middling sorts in shaping the political narratives of the …

In many Asian cities, particularly those that confront increasing land scarcity, the conversion from burial to cremation has been encouraged by state agencies in the last several decades. From Hong Kong to Seoul to Singapore, planning agencies have sought to reduce the use of space for the dead, in order to release land for the use of the living. In The Making of Tocqueville’s Democracy: Law and Association in the Early United States, Kevin Butterfield, assistant professor of classics and letters at the University of Oklahoma, focuses on the proliferation of associations in the formative years of the American republic. Butterfield’s concern, however, is slightly different from Tocqueville’s, in that Butterfield is less intrigued by the question of why associations proliferated and how they preserve freedom in a democratic age, and more focused upon how these associations were constituted and functioned in the early American context.

The China that Chairman Mao Zedong ruled was primarily agrarian. Mao’s party, consistent with the ideas of Lenin on which it was partially based, pursued planned industrialization by promoting state-owned manufacturing. This endeavor involved all sectors of society in the push to catch up with the West – even to the point of imploring rural residents to smelt steel in backyard furnaces. These efforts showed some success – by 1978 manufacturing’s share of GDP had risen from the 28 percent it held in 1949. As rural governments have become hollowed out and detached from rural society, can they still effectively implement policies that lack popular support? This article examines a county in Hunan Province, where local governments had strong incentives to implement a national policy of increasing double cropping in rice farming. Small farmers rejected double cropping as unprofitable. Local governments’ limited capacity prevented them from either reshaping small farmers’ economic calculus or coercing compliance. They strategically selected a policy tool acceptable to most small farmers (paid land transfers) and gave new private large-scale producers incentives to double crop by providing subsidies and access …

Theorising of negative ties has focused on simplex negative tie networks or multiplex signed tie networks. We examine the fundamental differences between positive and negative tie networks measured on the same set of actors. We test six mechanisms of tie formation on face-to-face positive (affect/esteem) and negative (dislike/disesteem) networks of 282 university students. While popularity, activity, and entrainment are present in both networks, closure, reciprocity, and homophily are largely absent from negative tie networks. We argue this arises because avoidance is inherent to negative sentiments. Avoidance reduces information transfer through negative ties and short-circuits cumulative causation. การยึดอยู่ของสะพานฟันรูปแบบใหม่ที่กรอฟันน้อย ภายหลังได้รับแรงกระทำแบบเป็นวัฏจักร, รุจิรา ภัทรทิวานนท์

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อออกแบบสะพานฟันที่ยึดด้วยวัสดุเรซินชนิดกรอฟันน้อยในฟันหลังรูปแบบใหม่ โดยเปรียบเทียบการยึดอยู่ระหว่าง 3 รูปแบบที่แตกต่างกันภายหลังได้รับแรงกระทำแบบเป็นวัฏจักร โดยใช้ฟันมนุษย์ที่ได้รับการถอนจำนวน 60 ซี่ เป็นฟันกรามน้อย 30 ซี่ และฟันกรามแท้ 30 ซี่ นำฟันกรามน้อยและฟันกรามแท้อย่างละซี่ยึดเข้ากับอะคริลิกเรซินชนิดบ่มตัวด้วยตัวเองที่ระยะห่าง 11 มิลลิเมตรเพื่อจำลองการสูญเสียฟันกรามแท้ซี่ที่หนึ่ง แบ่งบล็อกฟันออกเป็น 3 กลุ่มๆ ละ 10 บล็อก ตามรูปแบบการออกแบบชิ้นงาน โดยกลุ่มที่ 1 ชิ้นงานเป็นส่วนพักนอกตัวฟันด้านบดเคี้ยวที่มีลักษณะเช่นเดียวกับออนเลย์ กลุ่มที่ 2 ชิ้นงานเป็นส่วนพักในตัวฟันด้านประชิดร่วมกับข้อต่อขยับได้ และกลุ่มที่ 3 ชิ้นงานเป็นส่วนพักในตัวฟันด้านประชิดร่วมกับข้อต่อขยับไม่ได้ ชิ้นงานทำด้วยโลหะผสมไร้สกุล ปรับสภาพพื้นผิวด้านในด้วยอะลูมินาขนาด 50 ไมโครเมตร และยึดด้วยเรซินซีเมนต์ชนิดซุปเปอร์บอนด์ซีแอนด์บี ทดสอบชิ้นตัวอย่างด้วยแรงกดในแนวตรงลงบนฟันหลักทั้ง 2 ซี่และฟันแขวน ด้วยแรงขนาด 50 – 800 นิวตัน ที่ความถี่ 4 รอบต่อวินาที จำนวน 2,500,000 รอบ ภายหลังทดสอบด้วยแรงกด ถ้าชิ้นงานไม่เกิดความล้มเหลวจะนำไปทดสอบด้วยแรงดึงขึ้นในแนวตรงจนกระทั่งเกิดความล้มเหลวของชิ้นงาน และประเมินความล้มเหลวที่เกิดขึ้นว่าเกิดที่ระดับใด ผลการทดสอบพบว่าชิ้นตัวอย่างของทุกกลุ่มอยู่รอดภายหลังทดสอบด้วยแรงกดแบบเป็นวัฏจักร เมื่อทดสอบด้วยแรงดึงพบว่าค่าเฉลี่ยแรงยึดของชิ้นงานทั้ง 3 กลุ่มมีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.05) โดยกลุ่มที่ 3 มีค่าแรงยึดสูงที่สุดโดยเฉลี่ย 529.9 ± 86.2 นิวตัน รองลงมาคือกลุ่มที่ 1 ที่มีค่า 396.7 ± 73.2 นิวตัน และกลุ่มที่ 2 มีค่าต่ำที่สุดโดยเฉลี่ย 228.3 ± 52.5 นิวตัน โดยรูปแบบความล้มเหลวของชิ้นงานจะเกิดการหลุดบริเวณรอยต่อระหว่างชิ้นงานและเรซินซีเมนต์และ/หรือภายในเรซินซีเมนต์เป็นส่วนใหญ่ ผลการศึกษานี้แสดงให้เห็นว่าสะพานฟันหลังชนิดกรอฟันน้อยที่ชิ้นงานมีส่วนพักในตัวฟันด้านประชิดร่วมกับการใช้ข้อต่อขยับไม่ได้อาจส่งผลให้มีอายุการใช้งานที่ยาวนานกว่าชิ้นงานที่มีลักษณะเป็นส่วนพักนอกตัวฟันด้านบดเคี้ยวที่ใช้อยู่ในปัจจุบัน

ปัจจุบันระบบเศรษฐกิจไทยเป็นระบบทุนนิยม ซึ่งมีผลดีต่อการสร้างงานสร้างรายได้ให้กับประชาชน รวมไปถึงการยกระดับฐานะทางเศรษฐกิจและสังคม แต่อีกนัยหนึ่งระบบเศรษฐกิจแบบนี้ได้สร้างปัญหาให้กับสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อมมากมาย เนื่องจากเศรษฐกิจแบบระบบทุนนิยม เน้นการสร้างผลกำไรและสร้างรายได้สูงสุด โดยไม่ได้คำนึงถึงสังคมและสภาพแวดล้อมในระยะยาว ดังนั้นจึงเกิดแนวคิดใหม่ทางเศรษฐกิจ คือ ระบบเศรษฐกิจที่เน้นให้ความสำคัญกับสังคม และสิ่งแวดล้อมควบคู่ไปกับการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ ที่เป็นแนวทางการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนกว่าระบบเศรษฐกิจเดิม โดยการดำเนินธุรกิจในลักษณะนี้เรียกว่ากิจการเพื่อสังคม โดยเน้นความสมดุลระหว่าง เศรษฐกิจ สังคม การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์และระยะของการศึกษา 3 ระยะ ได้แก่ ระยะที่ 1 ผู้วิจัยศึกษาปัจจัยและพัฒนาตัวชี้วัดที่ส่งผลต่อการเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนของกิจการเพื่อสังคมโดยทำการทบทวนวรรณกรรมและสัมภาษณ์ผู้เชี่ยวชาญ หลังจากนั้นผู้วิจัยได้ทำการทดสอบความเที่ยงตรงของตัวชี้วัดและเก็บข้อมูลจากกิจการเพื่อสังคมจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 401 กิจการ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า มีองค์ประกอบที่เป็นปัจจัยหลัก 7 ปัจจัย ได้แก่ 1. ความเป็นผู้นำ 2. การสร้างข้อผูกพันร่วมกับผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสีย 3. การสร้างคุณค่า 4. การจัดการนวัตกรรม 5. การจัดการทางการเงิน 6. การจัดการความรู้ 7. หลักปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียง ซึ่งทั้ง 7 ปัจจัยมีตัวชี้วัดย่อย 17 ตัวชี้วัด ที่ส่งผลถึงระดับศักยภาพและความยั่งยืนของกิจการเพื่อสังคม ในระยะที่ 2 ผู้วิจัยนำผลที่ได้มาสร้างแบบจำลองและพัฒนาเป็นเครื่องมือการประเมินศักยภาพและความยั่งยืนของกิจการเพื่อสังคม และได้นำเครื่องมือประเมินไปทำการทดสอบการยอมรับนวัตกรรมจากกลุ่มเป้าหมายจำนวน 30 ราย ผลการศึกษาพบว่ามีการยอมรับ การเห็นถึงประโยชน์และมีความสนใจนำระบบนวัตกรรมนี้ไปใช้งาน ในระยะที่ 3 ผู้วิจัยทำการศึกษาการใช้ประโยชน์ของเครื่องมือการประเมินในเชิงพาณิชย์ โดยศึกษาในมิติของการวิเคราะห์อุตสาหกรรม ความคุ้มค่าในการลงทุน และกลุ่มลูกค้าเป้าหมาย และสิ่งแวดล้อม แต่อย่างก็ดีการดำเนินงานของกิจการเพื่อสังคมยังประสบปัญหาหลักๆ คือ ปัญหาการบริหารจัดการธุรกิจให้มีประสิทธิและขยายตัวอย่างยั่งยืนได้ จึงนำไปสู่การศึกษาและพัฒนานวัตกรรมนวัตกรรมเครื่องมือประเมินความยั่งยืนของกิจการเพื่อสังคมในรูปแบบซอฟท์แวร์นี้ กิจการเพื่อสังคมสามารถนำไปใช้ในการประเมินศักยภาพในการดำเนินงานของตน หน่วยงานรัฐที่ดูแลสนับสนุนกิจการเพื่อสังคมสามารถนำซอฟท์แวร์นี้ไปใช้ในการประกอบการให้คำปรึกษา ส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนกิจการเพื่อสังคมเหล่านี้ได้ และเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถของกิจการเพื่อสังคม อันจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อเศรษฐกิจของประเทศ
