Creepy Kool-Aid Man, Kjeisten Secretan
Creepy Kool-Aid Man, Kjeisten Secretan
USU Student Folklore Fieldwork
the Kool-Aid man originally comes from the Kool-Aid commercials, which is a big picture of Kool-Aid and he’s filled with the red Kool-Aid usually and he has a big face, a big smiley face. So on our campout, for some reason we thought it would be so scary, that we were scared that the Kool-Aid Man would pop up out of nowhere. And you’d see his big shadow on the side of our tent and he’d say “oooh yeahhhh” and he’d break through the side of the tent like in the commercials he breaks through like a million different walls. …

Shooting The Stars, Kjeisten Secretan
USU Student Folklore Fieldwork
Typically, on a campout or something you have nothing better do. In the evening after the fire’s gone out it the dark, everybody kind of goes off into a field and there’s, just, you can’t see anything no lights at all, all you can see are the stars. And you have one person standing in the middle of a big group of kids and the kids will have a flashlight that they kind of hide, so there’s no light showing, and the kid in the middle just looks up at the stairs and just start spinning. So, they spin and …

Latina women in the United States (U.S.) are disproportionately affected by obesity and are more likely to begin pregnancy overweight and gain excessive weight during pregnancy. The prenatal care period represents a window of opportunity for women to access the healthcare system and receive preventive services, education, nutritional support, and other social services to improve pregnancy outcomes. Excessive gestational weight gain (GWG) has numerous negative short- and long-term consequences for both the mother and newborn. We explored nulliparous Latina women’s perceptions about their experiences communicating with their primary healthcare provider about GWG and physical activity (PA) to identify possible intervention …
The Ecclesiological Implications Of The Priesthood Of All Believers, Alan Parker
The Ecclesiological Implications Of The Priesthood Of All Believers, Alan Parker
Faculty Works
The Protestant Reformation encouraged the "priesthood of all believers" but how does that concept impact the local church in the Seventh-day Adventist denomination? The lack of a clear ecclesiology has hampered the growth and effectiveness of Adventism. Both Exodus 19:6 and 1 Peter 2:9 provide a theological hermeneutic for how to reframe our ecclesiology in a way consistent with the Protestant principle of every believer serving as a priest. Priests are teachers, holy representatives, and mediators. The practical implications of these three aspects are examined. Luther's struggle with papal power structures are examined in the light of his radical understanding …

Auditory Function In Patients Who Received Cranial Radiation Therapy For Childhood Cancer, Johnnie Kramer Bass
Electronic Theses and Dissertations Archive
Patients treated with cranial radiation therapy (RT) are at risk for developing sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). The two manuscripts included in the dissertation prospectively reported auditory outcomes in pediatric patients treated with cranial RT for a brain tumor. The first paper examined the incidence of SNHL in children treated with photon-RT, including the onset and progression of SNHL. The study found that SNHL was prevalent in 14% of patients with a median time from RT initiation to SNHL onset of 3.6 years. Among 29 patients with follow-up evaluations after onset, 65.5% experienced progressive SNHL in either ear and 34.5% had …
