The Impact Of Shale Gas On Gas Storage Performance, Arya Maher Sattari Jan 2017

The Impact Of Shale Gas On Gas Storage Performance, Arya Maher Sattari

Graduate Theses, Dissertations, and Problem Reports (ETD)

The advances in technology has resulted in significant gas production from the shale formations across the United States. Marcellus Shale which spans most of the Appalachian Basin is one the most prolific gas producers in the United States. Marcellus Shale gas has a distinctly different composition from the existing Northern Appalachian typical dry natural gas. As gas production from Marcellus shale has increased, so has the amount of the shale gas in the natural gas transportation system in the Appalachian Basin. The composition of the injected gas into a storage reservoir can the storage volumes, pressures, the withdrawal rate, and …

Comparing Fixed-Amount And Progressive-Amount Dro Schedules For Tic Suppression In Youth With Chronic Tic Disorders, Matthew R. Capriotti, Jennifer E. Turkel, Rachel A. Johnson, Flint M. Espil, Douglas W. Woods Jan 2017

Comparing Fixed-Amount And Progressive-Amount Dro Schedules For Tic Suppression In Youth With Chronic Tic Disorders, Matthew R. Capriotti, Jennifer E. Turkel, Rachel A. Johnson, Flint M. Espil, Douglas W. Woods

Psychology Faculty Research and Publications

Chronic tic disorders (CTDs) involve motor and/or vocal tics that often cause substantial distress and impairment. Differential reinforcement of other behavior (DRO) schedules of reinforcement produce robust, but incomplete, reductions in tic frequency in youth with CTDs; however, a more robust reduction may be needed to affect durable clinical change. Standard, fixed‐amount DRO schedules have not commonly yielded such reductions, so we evaluated a novel, progressive‐amount DRO schedule, based on its ability to facilitate sustained abstinence from functionally similar behaviors. Five youth with CTDs were exposed to periods of baseline, fixed‐amount DRO (DRO‐F), and progressive‐amount DRO (DRO‐P). Both DRO schedules …

The Effects Of An Intervention Program (Voyager) Through Response To Intervention Framework On 4th Grade Reading Achievement, Lisa Harris

Doctoral Dissertations and Projects

The ability to read fluently has been confirmed as an indicator of good comprehension and thus academic success. Studies have shown that most students in the U.S. are reading below their grade levels. The U.S. has demanded continuously that the education system increase the outcomes of education for all children. In order to improve children’s reading educational needs, effective screening, assessments, and intervention tools need to be implemented properly in U.S. school curriculum. The purpose of this nonequivalent control group study is to investigate the effectiveness of an intervention program in improving the oral reading fluency rates of fourth graders …

Collaborative Governance And Anticorruption In Postwar Monrovia, Tewroh-Wehtoe Sungbeh Jan 2017

Collaborative Governance And Anticorruption In Postwar Monrovia, Tewroh-Wehtoe Sungbeh

Walden Dissertations and Doctoral Studies

Public sector corruption is a major problem in Monrovia. Successive national

governments have instituted anticorruption measures in the 1970s and 2000s, and anticorruption agencies were established to eradicate corruption. However, there appears to be a significant lack of resources and political willpower to prosecute corrupt government officials. A failure to curb political corruption indicates that current policies are not working. Government works when there is a perception that it delivers results and that the needs and safety of the citizenry are protected. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenology study was to gain a deeper understanding of public sector corruption at …
