The 21st century workforce must be able to address dynamic situations, think critically, and solve problems by accessing and analyzing information (Wagner, 2011). In response to employer requirements for skilled students, administrators at 4-year colleges have designed nontraditional approaches to learning which included CBE and PL-based learning (Williams, Moser, Youngblood, & Singer, 2015). Colleges and universities continue to make adjustments in the curriculum to satisfy employer expectations. New graduates are expected to demonstrate mastery of general education competencies such as reading, writing, and critical thinking as well as industry-specific competencies and skills (Williams, Matt, & O’Reilly, 2014). The aim of this study was to analyze the factorial invariance and latent means differences of the Spanish version of the School Refusal Assessment Scale-Revised for Children (SRAS-R-C) in a sample of 1,078 students (50.8% boys) aged 8-11 years (M = 9.63, SD = 1.12). The results revealed that the proposed model in this study, with a structure of 18 items divided into four factors (Negative Affective, Social Aversion and/or Evaluation, To Pursue Attention and Tangible Reinforcements), was the best-fit model with a tetra-factorial structure, remaining invariant across gender and age. Fungal acquisition of resources is difficult to assess in the field. To determine whether fungi received carbon from recent plant photosynthate, litter or soil-derived organic (C:N bonded) nitrogen, we examined differences in δ13C among bulk tissue, structural carbon, and protein extracts of sporocarps of three fungal types: saprotrophic fungi, fungi with hydrophobic ectomycorrhizae, or fungi with hydrophilic ectomycorrhizae. Sporocarps were collected from experimental plots of the Duke Free-air CO2 enrichment experiment during and after CO2 enrichment. The differential 13C labeling of ecosystem pools in CO2 enrichment experiments was tracked into fungi and provided novel insights into organic nitrogen use. Specifically, …

Introduction. Diagnosing community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) in the elderly remains a clinical challenge for various reasons. The clinical manifestation in the elderly is not frank and atypical manifestations, e.g. falls, decrease of functional status and food intake or urinary incontinence, may be present. These reasons may be associated with under or over diagnosis, which consequently contribute to the higher observed mortality rate in the elderly population with CAP. Study about factors related to diagnosis of CAP in the elderly was ra rely performed.

This article elucidates the ethical and methodological intricacies of the semi-structured interviews when the author conducted is qualitative-based fieldwork in the Internally Displaced Camps (IDPs) in Nairobi and Rift Valley, Kenya. Research can be regarded as the production of knowledge, and the research process is the roadmap used in order to produce scientific knowledge about the objectivity of individual agency and its social reality, but there is a paucity of recent studies that reveal the complexity of conducting research in highly sensitive environments, especially in the IDP camps. Objective. To compare pharmacy, osteopathic medicine, dental medicine, and physician assistant (PA) students' perceptions of e-professionalism.

Methods. A 20-item questionnaire was developed and administered to four cohorts of health care professions students early in their first professional year. The questionnaire contained 16 scenarios in which a hypothetical health care student or professional shared information or content electronically and students were asked to indicate how much they agreed that the scenario represented professional behavior.

Results. Ninety-four percent of students completed the questionnaire. More female students were in the pharmacy and PA cohorts. There were statistical differences in students' perceptions of e-professionalism …

Background and Purpose: Knee pain affects a large number of adults, and as a result limits their functional mobility and may induce participation restrictions. A number of risk factors may contribute to knee pain, with osteoarthritis (OA) being the most prevalent cause. The rate of knee replacement surgery among individuals 65 and older has increased significantly over the years. Physical therapy (PT) is a non-surgical option that offers individuals relief of their knee pain.
