A family history of premature coronary artery disease is an independent and established risk factor for CAD. A total sample of 657 Iraqi patients with coronary artery disease who submitted to routine coronary angiography in our cardiology center, only 72 patients with a positive family history of premature coronary disease were enrolled in this study. Hypertension and left anterior descending artery occlusive disease were more prevalent in 64% of patients with a positive family history of premature CAD (64 %). Faculty Work

Recent discovery of a new class of materials, spin-gapless semiconductors (SGS), has attracted considerable attention in the last few years, primarily due to potential applications in the emerging field of spin-based electronics (spintronics). Here, we investigate structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of one potential SGS compound, MnCrVAl, using various experimental and theoretical techniques. Our calculations show that this material exhibits ≈ 0.5 eV band gap for the majority-spin states, while for the minority-spin it is nearly gapless. The calculated magnetic moment for the completely ordered structure is 2.9 µB/f.u., which is different from our experimentally measured value of …

Aerospace, Physics, and Space Science Faculty Publications

A search for dark matter particles directly produced in proton-proton collisions recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 18.8 fb−1, at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV. The event selection requires at least two jets and no isolated leptons. The razor variables are used to quantify the transverse momentum balance in the jet momenta. The study is performed separately for events with and without jets originating from b quarks. The observed yields are consistent with the expected backgrounds and, depending on the nature of the production mechanism, dark matter …

Dyshormonogenesis due to thyroglobulin (TG) gene mutations is a rare cause of congenital hypothyroidism with an estimated incidence of approximately 1 in 100,000 newborns. The TG gene is organized in 48 exons, spanning over 270 kb on human chromosome 8q24. The human TG mRNA is 8.5 Kb long and the preprotein monomer is composed of a 19 amino acids signal peptide followed by a 2749 residues polypeptide. The main goal of this study is to elaborate and evaluate the physicochemical properties of the synthetic biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP) powder: an associate compound of hydroxyapatite (HA): Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2 and beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP): Ca3(PO4)2. The new compound BCP has two advantages: high bioactivity (HA) and fast biodegradation (β-TCP). The obtained powder of BCP was prepared by the precipitate method. XRD analysis confirmed the synthetic material contained both HA and β-TCP crystalline phases. The paper devoted to results of the study on impact of the “SERHOSIL” and “REZOKOM-1” biological products on grows and yield of “Namangan-77” variety of cotton cultivated under condition of irrigated loamy soils. The study has shown that the biological products has positively impacted on vegetation, grows and provided higher biological yields from experimental fields that is up to 36% more than from control fields.

The study found, what create a database of land inventory information covering about 42,000 of the subjects of land use Kibray district of Tashkent region will promote a more rational management of information stream. The use of electronic programs for creating a cadastral database at the district level will improve the quality of the work of specialists , cost savings, time three times and on time delivery to consumers of information are reduced 5 times compared to traditional methods.
