Claims, Evidence And Reasoning: A Framework For Evidence-Based Writing On The Subject Of Evolution, Tami Lynn Limberg
Claims, Evidence And Reasoning: A Framework For Evidence-Based Writing On The Subject Of Evolution, Tami Lynn Limberg
School of Education and Leadership Student Capstone Theses and Dissertations
The aim of this qualitative research was to explore how students presented reasoned arguments supported by evidence and reasoning after receiving constructivist-based instruction. The author documents the details of the results and uses related research literature to construct meaning and validate constructivist pedagogy and the evidencebased writing instruction. The progress of twenty students’ ability to write a claim, give specific evidence and reasoning was followed throughout the investigation. Three themes emerged from this investigation: students showed a steady trend of intellectual growth over time, students benefitted when they constructed their own learning, and students struggled with written reasoning and connecting …
Industrial Ecology Analysis Of The Potential For An Eastern Nebraska Industrial Symbiosis Network (Enisn): A Comparative Study, Bradley A. Behne
Industrial Ecology Analysis Of The Potential For An Eastern Nebraska Industrial Symbiosis Network (Enisn): A Comparative Study, Bradley A. Behne
School of Natural Resources: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
The area of Eastern Nebraska north of Omaha, including the municipality of Blair is host to a collection of unique companies and industries. These industries, driven by the agricultural and urban economy of the area, as well as the geographic proximity to each other, make it an advantageous area to study the potential for a network where individual entities utilize the concept of industrial symbiosis. This potential network is referred to as the Eastern Nebraska Industrial Symbiosis Network (ENISN). Industrial symbiosis, a sub-set of industrial ecology, engages separate industries in a collaborative and collective approach, concerning itself with the flow …
The Rise Of Nuclear Energy In Arab States: Future Impacts, Brittany Broder
The Rise Of Nuclear Energy In Arab States: Future Impacts, Brittany Broder
Mahurin Honors College Capstone Experience/Thesis Projects
The signing of the Iranian nuclear deal during the Summer of 2015 highlighted the threat of nuclear proliferation from foreign powers, but largely overlooked the rise of nuclear energy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). With growing energy demands and heightened environmental regulations, countries in this region are turning to nuclear power to fuel their next generation. However, the rise of nuclear power in the MENA region holds serious implications for the future of the area’s energy, economic, and social reforms that have largely gone unexplored as a whole thus far. The purpose of this thesis is to …

Thou And It: Personhood Actualized Through Water Rights, Kierra M. Powell
Thou And It: Personhood Actualized Through Water Rights, Kierra M. Powell
Oglethorpe Journal of Undergraduate Research
While issues of racial and gendered discrimination are more visible and widely discussed, poverty and water based discrimination is often a silent fact of life for the many. As one of the most critical elemental resources required for the sustainability of human life, safe water has been designated a human right, but the current global distribution of water does not mirror this sentiment. The divide in quality water distribution provokes the question: whose life is intrinsically valued? This study seeks to determine the status of personhood as displayed by the movement of water in relation to the underprivileged. I first …
Science Maps Of Global And Indian Wildlife Forensics: A Comparative Analysis, John Jeyasekar Jesubright, Saravanan P
Science Maps Of Global And Indian Wildlife Forensics: A Comparative Analysis, John Jeyasekar Jesubright, Saravanan P
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
Science map is a useful tool to understand the structure of a discipline, research networks and collaborations. Wildlife forensics is an emerging field of Forensic Sciences, where science is applied to legal cases involving wildlife. This study is aimed at creating science maps of Wildlife Forensics, both at global level and regional (i.e. India) level using PubMed database. A total of 303 records pertaining to global and 29 records pertaining to India published between 2001 and 2015 are obtained from the PubMed. These bibliometric data are analysed and maps are constructed using MS-Excel spreadsheets, VOSviewer and Pajek software. The …
