Upstate New York Science Librarians Conference
This year Cornell University Library on Ithaca's campus launched a systematic review service in response to demand from non-medicine disciplines on campus. We have worked with various disciplines, including nutrition and the natural sciences, and soon realized that the definition of what is a "systematic review" is not universal. I will speak about the experience of setting up the systematic review service, challenges in communicating what a systematic review is, and what we have learned.

Early Childhood Community Intervention: Preventing Neighborhood Factors Of Crime And Delinquency., Ruddy Sirri-Akonwi Abam
Student Projects for Graduate Degrees
The social and political public health model established by States to separate and isolate criminals from society has for many decades given way to policies that support and have resulted in the large-scale use of incarceration as a means of punishment for major crimes as well as minor offenses. Most prevention strategies focus on adolescence and adulthood as cases of serious offenses continue to increase across the nation. Such approaches may be lacking additional significant mechanisms to interrupt and prevent the propensity for crime earlier in children’s lives; mechanisms which will determine if children will be future successes in society …

Québec, Canada - Loyalty In Québec Private Law, Caroline Le Breton-Prévost
Journal of Civil Law Studies
This paper provides an overview of the duty of loyalty in Québec private law. It dispels uncertainty regarding the duty’s nature and then analyzes the duty of loyalty in the Civil Code of Québec. In doing so, this paper takes into account the mixed origins of the duty by establishing certain parallels with the common law. Ultimately, this paper suggests that the duty of loyalty arises when a legal actor has the power to act within the legal sphere of another
Contextual Factors And The Syndemic Of Alcohol Use And Risky Sexual Behaviors Among Men Who Have Sex With Men, Humberto López Castillo
Contextual Factors And The Syndemic Of Alcohol Use And Risky Sexual Behaviors Among Men Who Have Sex With Men, Humberto López Castillo
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Since the early 1990s with the AIDS pandemic, there has been an increasing interest on the importance of risky sexual behaviors, especially among men who have sex with men (MSM). An important antecedent for these behaviors is alcohol use. Studies consistently show an increased frequency of both alcohol use and risky sexual behaviors in MSM populations. However, to date, there has not been a precise estimate of the effect size in these diverse populations and a consistent way to measure it. More so, the importance of context is often cited as a source of variability, but is rarely measured in …
