Streptococcus Pneumoniae Intracranial Abscess And Post-Infectious Vasculitis, Alexandra Lucas, Ko Ko Maung, Ryan Ratts

Intracranial abscesses are rare complications of Streptococcus pneumoniae infections, and to our knowledge, there have been no case reports of post-infectious vasculitis developing in such patients. Here we describe the case of a 48-year-old post-splenectomy male who developed post-infectious vasculitis following S. pneumoniae otitis media complicated by mastoiditis, osteomyelitis, meningitis, and intracranial abscess. Clinicians ought to be aware of the possible adverse outcomes of invasive S. pneumoniae and the limitations of current treatment options.

Cross-feeding, a relationship wherein one organism consumes metabolites excreted by another, is a ubiquitous feature of natural and clinically-relevant microbial communities and could be a key factor promoting diversity in extreme and/or nutrient-poor environments. However, it remains unclear how readily cross-feeding interactions form, and therefore our ability to predict their emergence is limited. In this paper we developed a mathematical model parameterized using data from the biochemistry and ecology of an E. coli cross-feeding laboratory system. Tourists increasingly rely on online data sources about the characteristics of the tourist offer in a given place and, more importantly, about the quality or characteristics of certain providers when making their decisions. The aim of the article is to investigate the characteristics of Ljubljana's tourist offer, especially the individual types (hotels, gastronomy, cultural offers, etc.), using content and sentiment analysis of text reviews from the largest online tourist portal. Exploring the causes of patient dissatisfaction can inform healthcare providers about the drawbacks of their services while providing a meaningful outcome to improve quality. In this article, using the qualitative method of netography, we identify the main causes of Slovenian patients' dissatisfaction with the non-medical components of healthcare services and, based on the results, identify those non-medical areas of healthcare services that can be improved in the future in terms of the quality of healthcare services from the perspective of patient satisfaction. Parent training is an effective intervention for parents of children with a variety of childhood disorders, including conduct problems, and parents often view behavioral parent training as acceptable. Explanations and rationales for parent training are commonly provided at the beginning of treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine whether changing the description of a behavioral parenting intervention influenced parents’ acceptability ratings and whether mothers and fathers differed in their ratings. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan jenis jenis dan takaran pupuk organik cair yang optimum dalam meningkatkan produksi kentang di dataran medium sehingga dari efektivitas itulah diharapkan pertumbuhan dan produktivitas kentang mampu optimal.
