The Burden On The Neighborhood And Its Effect On Grammatical Guidance In The Books Of Argument In The Seven Readings, Ammar Nehme Nghamish
The Burden On The Neighborhood And Its Effect On Grammatical Guidance In The Books Of Argument In The Seven Readings, Ammar Nehme Nghamish
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
This research examines the phenomenon of "interpretation based on context" in the books on the seven Quranic recitations. The researcher compared these books to identify this phenomenon, which he found present in their texts. He then attempted to link what these books stated with established grammatical rules. These books, in fact, adopted principles from the existing scholarly tradition and applied them to the Quranic recitations. The research also sought to highlight the views of the scholars who addressed this issue, particularly those of Abu Ali, who rejected the concept of "interpretation based on context." Abu Ali preferred to interpret the …

Population Growth And Housing Problem In Samawah City 2012-2025, Salah Hashem Zghair Al-Asadi, Maher Nasser Abdullah
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The study of population growth and its annual rates, as well as its spatial and temporal variations, is an important topic of interest for specialists in human geography. This is due to the fact that this phenomenon is linked to numerous problems, particularly in developing countries, such as unemployment, poverty, inadequate services, and shortages of food and housing. The residential function is a significant aspect of land use and represents one of the key functions of cities. It provides housing to residents in designs and styles that reflect the level of societal development, and given the large area it occupies, …
Slums In Afak City: Causes, Characteristics And Inter-Dimensions, Abdul Redha Matar Al-Hashemi
Slums In Afak City: Causes, Characteristics And Inter-Dimensions, Abdul Redha Matar Al-Hashemi
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The phenomenon of informal settlements has become an integral part of urbanization in most cities in developing and Arab countries, as these cities have been unable to provide adequate housing for their populations. This is due to the lack of clear housing policies in these countries. During the second half of the 20th century, the shift in the population distribution between rural and urban areas was clearly towards cities, with the urban population exceeding 50% in many countries. This has made it difficult for these countries to provide basic urban services, including adequate housing. As a result, informal settlements have …
The Reality Of Agricultural Production In Iraq And Future Prospects, Rashid Bani Al-Zalami
The Reality Of Agricultural Production In Iraq And Future Prospects, Rashid Bani Al-Zalami
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
Food is an essential daily need for human beings; with bread, people live and thrive, while hunger and poverty lead to suffering and death. From the very beginning, humans have strived to secure food resources and ensure their availability. As the population grew and urbanization expanded, the demand for food increased, especially after agricultural production became insufficient to meet human needs, leading to hunger and crises. Therefore, understanding the current state of agricultural production, both globally and specifically in Iraq, and determining the actual food requirements, is crucial. This knowledge forms the basis for developing and improving agricultural practices, ultimately …

Spatial Variation Of The Age Structure Of The Population Of Al-Qadisiyah Governorate For The Period (1987 - 2012), Yahya Abdul Hassan Fleih, Sabria Ali Hussein, Jawad Kazem Obaid
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The age structure is one of the demographic issues that are of particular importance in multiple studies and at all economic, social and political levels. By studying the age structure, it is possible to know the percentage of the dependent labor force category for the dependent categories represented by the young and the elderly, in addition to that, it shows the school-age groups and groups which needs special health care, and the age structure can give a clear picture of the young age groups capable of bearing arms and defending the homeland and the groups that can exercise their right …
Natural Features That Can Be Identified From Contour Maps, Rabab Abdul Majeed Hamid
Natural Features That Can Be Identified From Contour Maps, Rabab Abdul Majeed Hamid
Uruk Journal of Human Sciences
The contour line method is one of the most widely used methods for representing topography. In addition to being more accurate and clearer than other methods, it allows us to incorporate other geographical features on maps while maintaining clarity. This method is frequently used in topographic maps, and it is almost impossible to find a university thesis or dissertation on natural geography that does not include a contour map. This method not only allows us to visualize the three-dimensional shape of the Earth's surface, but also enables us to derive a great deal of useful information from the shape and …

Direct Foreign Investment And Corruption In Morocco: A Case Study Of Royal Air Maroc, Ismail Moufdi
Student Theses and Dissertations
The goal of this paper is to inspect to what extent there is a correlation between foreign investments and the increasing levels of corruption in Moroccan companies. To narrow the scope of my paper, I have chosen to use a case of corruption that involved Royal Air Maroc and Baysys in 2011. This paper will study the consequences of foreign investment of Baysys on Royal Air Maroc, the internal as well as the external factors that affected that relation between those two companies, the role of the political system in corruption, the role of the international agreements and laws against …
Single- And Dual-Porosity Calibration And Long-Term Modeling Of Highly Conductive Floodplain Soils In The Ozark Ecoregion, Ryan P. Freiberger
Single- And Dual-Porosity Calibration And Long-Term Modeling Of Highly Conductive Floodplain Soils In The Ozark Ecoregion, Ryan P. Freiberger
Department of Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research
Phosphorus (P) is a critical nutrient for agriculture, but is also responsible for surface water enrichment that leads to algal growth. While P loading to surface waters has traditionally been thought to occur from surface runoff, contributions from subsurface transport can also be significant. Subsurface transport through gravelly soils in the Ozark ecoregion can have a significant, yet poorly-documented effect on P movement to groundwater.
Long-term P modeling was performed in HYDRUS-1D and 2D using data collected from short-term plot experiments featuring gravelly soils. Seven model levels were developed to illustrate a wide variety of laboratory and field conditions. Calibration …

Blast-Off: Determining Glioblastoma Goi Sequence Conservation Across Model Organisms, Joseph K. Kaplan
Blast-Off: Determining Glioblastoma Goi Sequence Conservation Across Model Organisms, Joseph K. Kaplan
Theses
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) are aggressive brain tumors found in the nervous system of humans. Derived from glia such as astrocytes, oligodendrocytes and Schwannn cells, glioblastomas can develop throughout the nervous system, but are most commonly found in the brain. Prognosis following glioblastoma diagnosis is often very grim; only 3-5% of patients diagnosed with glioblastoma live beyond 36 months, therefore early detection and proper treatment are imperative. Scientists have studied the genetic factors linked to GBM development in humans and model organisms and determined a number of glioblastoma GOI. Many of the glioblastoma GOI have been previously identified as oncogenes such …

An Activity Aimed At Improving Student Explanations Of Biological Mechanisms, Caleb M. Trujillo, Trevor R. Anderson, Nancy J. Pelaez
PIBERG Instructional Innovation Materials
This document is intended for use by instructors and their students. The activity contains steps to introduce students to the MACH model involving analyzing and discussing explanations about biological mechanisms. Initially, students read modified articles about biological mechanisms during class, although instructors may prefer to assign readings outside of class before the activity. During the activity, students are required to analyze the readings for evidence of research methods, analogies, context, and mechanisms. In so doing, students learn how to integrate the information pertaining to each of the MACH model components into a coherent explanation about their biological mechanism. After performing …

A Tetrahedral Version Of The Mach Model For Explaining Biological Mechanisms, Caleb M. Trujillo, Trevor R. Anderson, Nancy J. Pelaez
PIBERG Instructional Innovation Materials
This document is intended for both instructors and students. Modified from the original MACH model this version, once cut and folded, creates a tetrahedral model that can conveniently be used as a teaching and learning tool to inform and guide students on how to write expert quality explanations of biological mechanisms. Each vertex of the tetrahedron represents a component of the model namely, Methods, Analogy, Context, and How. For a coherent and complete explanation about molecular mechanisms, it is important to integrate information pertaining to all four components of the model. The tetrahedral MACH model has been tested in both …
Disposición Final De Aguas Producidas Tratadas De Yacimientos Gasopetrolíferos Carbonatados En Acuíferos Cársicos Litorales Someros Salinizados Final Disposal Of Produced Water From Carbonate Oil & Gas Fields In Shallow Coastal Karst Salinized Aquifers, Leslie F. Molerio-Leon
KIP Articles

Department of Agronomy and Horticulture: Faculty Publications
Seed oils have proved recalcitrant to modification for the production of industrially useful lipids. Here, we demonstrate the successful metabolic engineering and subsequent field production of an oilseed crop with the highest accumulation of unusual oil achieved so far in transgenic plants. Previously, expression of the Euonymus alatus diacylglycerol acetyltransferase (EaDAcT) gene in wild-type Arabidopsis seeds resulted in the accumulation of 45 mol% of unusual 3-acetyl-1,2- diacyl-sn-glycerols (acetyl-TAGs) in the seed oil (Durrett et al., 2010 PNAS 107:9464). Expression of EaDAcT in dgat1 mutants compromised in their ability to synthesize regular triacylglycerols increased acetyl-TAGs to 65 mol%. Camelina and soybean …

Using Leaf-Off Lidar In Modeling Forest Canopy Structure And Assessing The Effect Of Spatial Resolution In Landscape Analyses, Jason R. Parent
Using Leaf-Off Lidar In Modeling Forest Canopy Structure And Assessing The Effect Of Spatial Resolution In Landscape Analyses, Jason R. Parent
Doctoral Dissertations
In recent years, the increasing availability of airborne Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) has allowed landscapes to be studied in unprecedented detail. These data are primarily acquired during leaf-off canopy conditions because it is optimal for modeling the bare earth terrain in deciduous forests. However, there has been limited research investigating the utility of leaf-off data for modeling forest canopy structure and land cover. Furthermore, given the far greater spatial and temporal abundance of moderate- and coarse-resolution remote sensing data, it would be advantageous to determine when coarser data can serve as a useful proxy for finer data in landscape …

Design Of Gan-Based Low-Loss Y-Branch Power Splitter, Retno Wigajatri Purnamaningsih, Irma Saraswati, Nji Raden Poespawati, Elhadj Dogheche
Makara Journal of Technology
We present a Y-branch power splitter design with a multimode section using GaN on Sapphire at telecommunication wavelength. The GaN sample optical properties were also investigated, resulting in a refractive index for the GaN layers nTE=2.289±0.001 and nTM=2.324±0.00. Optimization of the structure parameters for this structure was conducted accurately using BPM methods. The results demonstrated the possibility of realizing a GaN-based Y-branch power splitter for various applications.

Analysis Of Vibration Generated By The Rubbing Of Flat Surfaces, Zahrul Fuadi
Analysis Of Vibration Generated By The Rubbing Of Flat Surfaces, Zahrul Fuadi
Makara Journal of Technology
Among the phenomena that occur as a result of contact between two surfaces is friction sound, in which surface roughness is of great importance. In this study, the parameter of contact stiffness is used to explain the frequency characteristic of vibration generated by the rubbing of flat surfaces under a small load. A 3-disk configuration rubbing method was used, which provides a unique characteristic of the system's frequency response function containing specific information about the rubbing vibrations. It is shown that the peak frequency of the rubbing vibration can be explained by using a two-degrees-of-freedom model incorporating the parameter of …
