This collection seeks to assemble and make visible the historical and contemporary voices of bi-directional solidarity between Palestine and the Pan-African world. Shared struggles against colonialism, racism, apartheid, settler violence, historical erasure, patriarchy, class exploitation, and other forms of oppression link Pan-African and Palestinian communities throughout all periods of their often intertwined and overlapping histories. This is particularly true in the period of anti-colonial independence struggles, especially following the 1967 war, and in the global BDS movement today. But it is also continuous throughout the twentieth century, and especially since the Nakba in 1948. Because much of this history is …

The purpose of this study was to explore connections among perceived caring climate, empathy, and student social behaviors in high school bands. Nine high school band directors, along with their students, from Miami-Dade County Public Schools voluntarily participated in the study (N = 203 students, N = 9 schools). Participants completed an electronic questionnaire for variables of caring climate, cognitive empathy, affective empathy, positive social behaviors, negative social behaviors, and victimization. Demographic information for both students and teachers were also collected, along with school and band information. The dynamical processes governing the wind-driven Atlantic Meridional Overtuning Circulation (AMOC) variability are studied using observations and a variety of models, ranging from a simple forced Rossby wave model to an eddy-resolving Ocean General Circulation Model(OGCM). To better identify the mechansims for the AMOC variability at different time scales, the AMOC is decomposed into Ekman and geostrophic transport components. On seasonal time scale, the AMOC varability is determined by both components in the extratropics but dominated by the Ekman transport in the tropics. Length-dependent axonal degeneration, sometimes referred to as the "dying-back" of a nerve, results in axonal degeneration at the most distal extent of the axon. Degeneration of extended axons in the peripheral (PNS) and central nervous systems (CNS) is the pathological basis for a number of neurological disorders, including the axonal peripheral neuropathies known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2 (CMT2) and the axonal degeneration of the corticospinal tract in the CNS known as hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSP). CMT2 and HSP are inherited neurodegenerative disorders characterized by progressive axonal degeneration, which can cause severe disabilities and have no clinically available treatment options. …

Aggregation of proteins into amyloids has been related to several diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and Amyloidosis. Human insulin was chosen as a model protein to study fibrillation of the proteins. A uniform, global resource where anglers can participate and view their efforts in action will greatly contribute to the understanding, conservation, and management of these mysterious animals. It was this rationale that led The Billfish Foundation (TBF) to create the Online Tag and Release Database (TROD) as a companion to its existing Tag and Release Program. Atlantic bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) are the largest and most highly prized among the tuna (Scombridae) family. They are highly pelagic, undertaking transoceanic migrations throughout the Atlantic, but the main spawning grounds are the Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico (GOM). Given their mobility, management for this species is handled through international agreements under the auspices of the International Committee for the Conservation of Atlantic Tuna (ICCAT) and within the United States, through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Due to increases in the cultural and linguistic diversity among the early childhood professionals, especially Spanish-speaking teachers, measures are needed in teachers’ dominant language.
