Teachers who possess high levels of psychological capital and collective self-esteem are better able to cope with the spate of school violence, student/student bullying, and other current issues confronting the education system globally, regionally, and nationally. A teacher psychological capital high in hope, optimism, self-efficacy, resilience, and collective self-esteem translates into educators who possess a more positive outlook and can impart and influence how their students perceive themselves. No known research exists in the Trinidadian context linking both psychological capital and collective self-esteem. Teacher Revoicing In A Foreign Language Teaching Context: Social And Academic Functions, Banu Inan

The aim of this study is to investigate the occurrences of teacher revoicing as a discursive move in English Language Teaching (ELT) literature classes, and to identify its social and academic functions. Teacher revoicing refers to the restatement or incorporation of previous student comments into subsequent teacher statements and/or questions to build an extended discourse based on student contribution. The analysis of more than 25 hours of data of recorded classroom conversation in a university level literature class has demonstrated that teacher revoicing is a very common teacher move in the college EFL literature classroom. Investigating The Literacy, Numeracy And Ict Demands Of Primary Teacher Education, Helen De Silva Joyce, Susan Feez, Eveline Chan, Stephen Tobias

Australian Journal of Teacher Education

The pre-service programs delivered in Australian teacher education institutions are expected to graduate students who meet externally determined standards, including standards in literacy, numeracy and information and communication technology. These programs are also expected to educate future teachers in professional knowledge and practice, as well as prepare them to engage in professional learning continuously throughout their careers. This paper reports on the first phase of a project that investigated the literacy, numeracy and ICT demands of assessment tasks across the four years of the Bachelor of Education (Primary) program at a regional university.

Nitric Oxide Inhibitory Activity Of Herbal Extract Formulae For Anti-Inflammation, Intouch Sakpakdeejaroen, Sunita Makchuchit, Arunporn Itharat

Introduction: The objective of this research was to investigate anti-inflammatory activity of herbal extracts formulaefrom four plants, Zingiber cassumunar (ZC), Centella asiatica (CA), Zingiber officinale (ZO) and Piper nigrum(PN) by variable proportion of each plant. The active compound(s) contributing to its anti-inflammatoryactivity of best formula was verified using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method.

Method: Inhibitory activity against lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced nitric oxide production in RAW 264.7cell lines was used as assay for anti-inflammation. Each plant and five formulae (CF1-CF5) wereextracted by maceration in 95% ethanol.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to explore whether there was relationship between air quality index (AQI),particulate matter smaller than 10 microns (PM10) and respiratory diseases in Thailand.

Method: An analysis was made using data from respiratory disease sent to the National Health Security Office(NHSO) in the fiscal years 2010 and 2011. Patient admission counts of each day were combined withdaily air quality data obtained from website of the Department of Pollution Control. The joined data wasanalyzed using linear regression model.

Introduction: Road sweepers have ergonomic risk factors such as repetitive motion and prolonged duration that increasethe risk of musculoskeletal discomfort (MSD). The aim of this study was to find out the prevalence andrelated factors of MSD in road sweepers in Bangkok.

Method: The study design was a cross-sectional descriptive study. 273 road sweepers in Bangkok were includedin this study. Introduction: Polygonum odoratum L. (P. odoratum) extract has been shown to possess antioxidant effects and containsseveral antioxidant compounds. Occupational rhinitis is defined as that occurring secondary to exposure in the workplace to causal agents. Nasalitching, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and nasal congestion are the common presentations. Avoidance of exposure and an adequatepharmacotherapy are important measures for the treatment. However, occupational rhinitis is frequently under-diagnoseddue to lack of physician awareness. If exposure to the offending agent persists, occupational rhinitis may develop intooccupational asthma. Introduction: This research was conducted to study water temperature in the cooking-rice pot and in boiling machinefor killing total bacteria on eating utensils. Dipping duration, total bacteria numbers in hot water andbacterial contamination from water to eating utensils were also studied.

Method: The study was performed in Thammasat University, Rangsit campus and Thammasat hospital canteens.Swab method was used following with the pour-plate technique. In case of water contamination, waterwas withdrawn from the pot and the spread-plate technique was applied.
