We acquired near-infrared spectra of the Oort cloud comet C/2012 F6 (Lemmon) at three different heliocentric distances (R h) during the comet's 2013 perihelion passage, providing a comprehensive measure of the outgassing behavior of parent volatiles and cosmogonic indicators. Our observations were performed pre-perihelion at R h = 1.2 AU with CRIRES (on 2013 February 2 and 4), and post-perihelion at R h = 0.75 AU with CSHELL (on March 31 and April 1) and R h = 1.74 AU with NIRSPEC (on June 20). We detected 10 volatile species (H2O, OH* prompt emission, C2H6, CH3OH, H2CO, HCN, CO, CH4, …

Richard D. Dunphy: To Him, A War Goes On, Kevin P. Lavery
The Gettysburg Compiler: On the Front Lines of History
Although I have so far treated Richard Dunphy as a man who achieved heroism through valor and suffered greatly for it, there is another side to his character that I have not yet explored. In 1899, his wife, Catherine, accused Richard of being too irresponsible to handle his own pension money. Furthermore, she accused him of abusing his family and failing to pay his bills. To resolve this conflict, the Bureau of Pensions sent Special Examiner E. G. Hursh to Vallejo to investigate. He collected about a dozen depositions in order to evaluate the validity of these claims. Richard Dunphy …

Gardner-Webb Baseball Team Uses “No Shave November” To Raise Money For Childhood Cancer, Office Of University Communications
Gardner-Webb NewsCenter Archive
Gardner-Webb’s campus got quite a bit hairier last month as some members of the University family participated in the popular parade of manhood known as “No Shave November.” While men all over the country decided to leave their razors hanging in the balance just for fun, the men’s baseball team at GWU decided to grow their beards for a good cause. Almost all of the players and coaches who participated in “No Shave November” collected donations to raise money for childhood cancer patients and research.

A coupled heat and mass transfer model was developed to simulate the chilling of a beef carcass post slaughter. The methodology followed by Mallikarjunan, P., & Mittal, G. (1994) was adopted in this study. The beef carcass was represented by five two dimensional horizontal …

Cfx Analysis Of The Heat And Mass Transfer During The Chilling Of A Lamb Carcass Using A 3d Model, Joseph Hannon, Garrett Keane, Micheal O'Flaherty

Lamb meat is a popular red meat which must go through a complex refrigeration process before being served at the dinner table to reduce bacterial growth and retain meat quality. A major disadvantage of chilling is the drip losses which are losses in weight by evaporation of water contained within the meat. The aim of this work is to simulate the conventional chilling process of a lamb carcass using a three dimensional model.
