The Level Of Comfort Coaches Have For Dealing With Children With Behavioral Disabilities, Rebecca Campbell
The Level Of Comfort Coaches Have For Dealing With Children With Behavioral Disabilities, Rebecca Campbell
Sport Management Undergraduate
Studies have shown that children with behavioral disorders should be included in sports. This research looks at the comfort level coaches have with the idea of having children with behavioral disorders on their team. The research goes further into this question by looking at training as a possible option to increase the level of comfort. The study looks into the survey that was conducted and goes into further explanation as to how this affects youth sports. The discussion of the findings shows who is most affected by this research and what else can be examined.

"To justify property rights, two things must be shown. First, the kind of exclusive rights over goods or land that property rights involve must be justified. Second, it must be possible for such property rights to come into being. These are two separate issues. It is one thing to say that it is a good idea for there to be such rights, quite another to say that some person or procedure can bring them about."

The Osterix Reporter Mouse Identifies A Bone Marrow Skeletal Progenitor Cell Population, Sara E. Strecker
The Osterix Reporter Mouse Identifies A Bone Marrow Skeletal Progenitor Cell Population, Sara E. Strecker
Doctoral Dissertations
Multipotent skeletal progenitor cells that reside in the bone marrow and contribute to the maintenance and repair of bone tissue are difficult to identify and, as a result, remain poorly understood. Osterix is a zinc finger transcription factor, which functions as a key regulator of bone formation. Cells of the osteoblast lineage generate bone tissue by depositing a mineralized matrix [1, 2]. Osterix is selectively expressed in cells of the osteoblast lineage and has an essential function in osteoblast commitment and bone formation [1, 3]. While it is generally accepted that Osterix is expressed …
Continued Oversight Of U.S. Government Surveillance Authorities : Hearing Before The S. Committee On The Judiciary, 113th Cong., December 11, 2013 (Statement By Professor Carrie F. Cordero, Geo. U. L. Center), Carrie F. Cordero
Testimony Before Congress
My views are informed by this up-front perspective regarding how the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004, and later the FISA Amendments Act of 2008, vastly improved the Intelligence Community’s ability to protect the nation from another attack on the scale of September 11th. More recently, I have had the added benefit of having spent the past three years outside of government to reflect, and to engage with the academic community, and to some extent the public, regarding some of the issues this Committee is considering today.

Virtue Through Harmony: An Exploration Of The Ethical Role Of Music In Society, Sylvan Tovar
Virtue Through Harmony: An Exploration Of The Ethical Role Of Music In Society, Sylvan Tovar
Senior Theses
Music can profoundly affect individuals and societies. Individuals use music to express themselves, their opinions, their worldview, their emotions, all channeled through the medium of sound. Societies use music to help give identity to their culture. Music has inspired people to take up arms for their country, or to revolt. It has gathered people of different backgrounds together under the banner of peace and of war. It has inspired people to march, it has driven them to yell, to scream, to dance, to pray, to kiss and hold, to break down and cry. Music can help people sleep, can affect …

The Ciliary Protein Cystin Forms A Regulatory Complex With Necdin To Modulate Myc Expression, Maoqing Wu, Chaozhe Yang, Binli Tao, Su Bu, Lisa Guay-Woodford
Pediatrics Faculty Publications
Cystin is a novel cilia-associated protein that is disrupted in the cpk mouse, a well-characterized mouse model of autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD). Interestingly, overexpression of the Myc gene is evident in animal models of ARPKD and is thought to contribute to the renal cystic phenotype. Using a yeast two-hybrid approach, the growth suppressor protein necdin, known to modulate Myc expression, was found as an interacting partner of cystin. Deletion mapping demonstrated that the C-terminus of cystin and both termini of necdin are required for their mutual interaction. Speculating that these two proteins may function to regulate gene expression, …

It feels like winter, a time for thick socks, boots, warm coats, and… leggings?
Leggings are one of those articles of clothing we completely overdo... Or UNDER-do. From a practicality standpoint, they’re marvels of winter, but why rock the thin, sheer leggings in 0° weather when you could just wear shorts? [excerpt]
