Bounties, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

Braun, Richard C. Crepeau

On Sport and Society

From the time the story was leaked in early December, I had a feeling that Ryan Braun was going to be the first player to successfully appeal a positive drug test. I based this on two notions. First, someone sometime was going to be the victim of a false positive or some breach in the security of the urine sample. An Examination Of The Motivations, Needs, And Demographics Of Mountain Bicyclists In The West Cuesta Ridge Area Of The Los Padres National Forest, Christopher Devine

Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Administration

Despite its popularity, some land managers struggle to understand and keep up with the evolving and heavy use of mountain bikes on their trails. The purpose of this study was to examine the motivations, needs, and demographics of mountain bicyclists in the West Cuesta Ridge Area of the Los Padres National Forest in San Luis Obispo, CA. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires on site, at two different trailheads. From a sample of 36 subjects, findings included their demographics and preferred trail qualities. The key qualities …

Gardner-Webb NewsCenter Archive

Gardner-Webb University recently held its annual Miss Gardner-Webb pageant, awarding the crown to senior public relations major and former Miss Lincoln County Apple Queen 2008, Sara Jolley, of Lincolnton, N.C. Jolley was one of 20 applicants and 12 contestants to compete for the Miss Gardner-Webb 2012 title. Jolley’s poise and grace impressed the judges during the pageant’s fashion and interview portions, but it was her performance in the talent and platform portions that made her stand out.

An Exploratory Model Of The Antecedent Factors Contributing To Fan Support/Attendance At Hbcu Basketball Games, George W. Stone, Kathryn T. Cort, Japhet Nkonge

Atlantic Marketing Journal

Less is known, however, about what creates and promotes the desire to attend sporting events associated with historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s). HBCU’s, like their other small college athletic departments, are now facing financial difficulties because of dwindling …
