A Study In The Difference Of Warranty Failures Of Common Platform Different Brand Name Dishwashing Appliances, Nathan Baker
All-Inclusive List of Electronic Theses and Dissertations
There is a significant resource cost in the development of products. To minimize the resource cost and maximize the return on investment many companies develop several new products from one common platform. Common platforms spread across several separate brands. Different branding has different customers that have different perceptions of quality. Customers view quality as a mix of utility and reliability, and expect high reliability during the warranty period. It is often assumed by the developer the quality cost will be equal among each brand. Using the warranty data of a common platform dishwashing appliance the hypothesis was derived there is …

The Impact Of State Energy Programs And Other Contextual Factors On Us Buildings Energy Comsumption., Andrea N.Y.A Boadu
All-Inclusive List of Electronic Theses and Dissertations
High energy consumption in the United States has been influenced by populations, climates, income and other contextual factors. In the past decades, U.S. energy policies have pursued energy efficiency as a national strategy for reducing U.S. environmental degradation and dependence on foreign oils. The quest for improved energy efficiency has led to the development of energy efficient technologies and programs. The implementation of energy programs in the complex U.S. socio-technical environment is believed to promote the diffusion of energy efficiency technologies. However, opponents doubt the fact that these programs have the capacity to significantly reduce U.S. energy consumption. In order …
Middle School Special-Education Reading Teachers' Experiences Utilizing Study Island Technology To Enhance Male Students' Literacy: An Exploratory Case Study, Roddran Grimes

Concurrent Chains Schedules As A Method To Study Choice Between Alcohol Associated Conditioned Reinforcers, Corina Jimenez-Gomez, Timothy A. Shahan
Concurrent Chains Schedules As A Method To Study Choice Between Alcohol Associated Conditioned Reinforcers, Corina Jimenez-Gomez, Timothy A. Shahan
Psychology Faculty Publications
An extensive body of research using concurrent-chains schedules of reinforcement has shown that choice for one of two differentially valued food-associated stimuli is dependent upon the overall temporal context in which those stimuli are embedded. The present experiments examined whether the concurrent chains procedure was useful for the study of behavior maintained by alcohol and alcohol-associated stimuli. In Experiment 1, rats responded on concurrent-chains schedules with equal variable-interval (VI) 10-s schedules in the initial links. Across conditions, fixed-interval schedules in the terminal links were varied to yield 1:1, 9:1, and 1:9 ratios of alcohol delivery. Initial-link response rates reflected changes …

Bringing Underserved Staff Online @ Lmu, Jamie G. Hazlitt, Raymundo Andrade
Librarian Publications & Presentations
One tangible benefit of working at a university is the number of opportunities for continuing education. At LMU, these resources abound for white-‐collar, professional staff. But results from a 2010 survey initiated by the library and ITS indicated that the majority of respondents from LMU Facilities employees were unaware that library and technology workshops (which take place year-round) were offered at all. Through grassroots efforts, Raymundo Andrade and Jamie Hazlitt opened the lines of communication with facilities administration, offered basic technology and English language training opportunities for service staff, and tangibly improved the technology skills and enriched the lives of …

PURPOSE: The importance of involving subject matter experts (SMEs) in ERP implementations is well established. SMEs' knowledge of business and system processes are critical to conducting gap analyses and configuring enterprise systems. But what happens to SMEs on completion of the implementation phase? Prior qualitative research found that some organizations return SMEs to their old department, which can contribute to knowledge transfer; while other organizations retain the services of SMEs, to assist in ongoing efforts with support and enhancement of the systems. The purpose of this study is to understand post-implementation organizational choices - when SMEs are retained and returned. …
