Overweight and obesity prevalence is increasing throughout the United States, and these two health conditions seem to disproportionately affect certain segments of the adult population. To date little research has examined adult differences in normal weight, overweight, and obesity by metropolitan or nonmetropolitan residential status while controlling for important demographic, socioeconomic, behavioral, and health status characteristics. This research helps to fill this gap. We used data from the 2008 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) to empirically assess predictors of overweight and obesity risk for all adults and then by residential location. Suicide among male farmers is frequently discussed in the literature. While a wide range of factors are associated, a coherent theoretical framework that incorporates the various factors associated with male farmer suicide has not been developed. Moreover, the insights offered to date have not opened a more systemic approach to prevention. Drawing on substantive contributions from sociological theory, this paper proposes a framework for progressing understanding of the causes of this phenomenon and offers insights for prevention. Penelitian bertujuan menemukan konsepsi guru tentang pembelajaran kewirausahaan, kompetensi kewirausahaan yang dikembangkan pada unit produksi sekolah dalam bidang jasa boga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, ketua program studi, kepala unit produksi, dan siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dan dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif dari Miles dan Huberman yang terdiri dari reduksi data, data display, dan kesimpulan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh peranan orangtua, ketrampilan pengelolaan UJB, dan self-efficacy terhadap kesiapan berwirausaha. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan ex post facto. Populasi adalah siswa SMK Kompetensi Keahlian Jasa Boga di DIY. Sampel sebanyak 198 responden ditentukan menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan instrumen angket dan tes. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan regresi linier berganda. Penelitian menunjukkan kesiapan berwirausaha relatif sedang (30,8%). Uji hipotesis menemukan bahwa variabel peranan orangtua berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesiapan berwirausaha sebesar 0,374 (sig 0,000). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui (1) pandangan kepala sekolah dasar (SD) terhadap nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa, (2) nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa dalam perilaku oleh kepala SD, (3) implikasi kebijakan kepala sekolah dasar terhadap nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa, (4) implikasi teoritis nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa oleh kepala SD, (5) implikasi praktis nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa oleh kepala sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan historis, antropologis, dan hermeneutik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada persamaan dan perbedaan pandangan oleh empat kepala sekolah terhadap nilai-nilai kepemimpinan budaya Jawa. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh skala penilaian dengan pembobotan (SPPP), tanpa pembobotan (SPTP), penilai internal dan eksternal terhadap fungsi informasi tes performansi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan eksperimen pada tujuh SMK di Sumatera Barat; melibatkan sampel 864 subjek dan 46 performansi. Pengambilan sampel dengan metode random sampel sederhana, penempatan subjek dengan metode random matriks sampel. Data dikumpulkan dengan tes performansi dan dianalisis dengan metode Rasch. This paper examines the school neighborhood environments related to childhood obesity in a rural community in Texas, focusing on the assessment of three aspects: socioeconomic characteristics, food environment, and physical activity environment. Different methodological approaches were employed to characterize the aspects of the school neighborhood environments. Most public schools in the community were located in low-income neighborhoods. There were disproportionately high concentrations of fast food restaurants and convenience stores within the active travel-to-school zone. This project analyzed the effectiveness of using Story Testing frameworks to create an application directly from user specifications. It did this by taking an example business application with "traditional" specifications and rewriting those specifications in three different Story Testing Frameworks - Cucumber, FitNesse, and JBehave. Analysis of results drew the following conclusions: 1) Story Testing can help prove a project's completeness, 2) Specifications are still too technical, 3) Implementation is not overly complex, and 4) Story Testing is worth it. It proposed future research around evaluating natural languages and seeking more user-friendly ways of writing specifications in a natural language.

End-to-end delay is an important QoS metric in multihop wireless networks such as sensor networks and mesh networks. End-to-end delay is defined as the total time it takes for a single packet to reach the destination. This article addresses the meaning of the citizenship clauses of the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Fourteenth Amendment by augmenting the historical record relevant to those clauses. It argues that the key to understanding their meaning lies in the nineteenth century concept of allegiance, the central concept in the international law of citizenship and subjecthood in the nineteenth century. International law, diplomatic history, and international conflict centered around that concept, reveal complexities not fully explored in the previous scholarly literature on the citizenship clauses. Since the 1990s, many Hispanics have been relocating to the rural South and their permanency (although beneficial to the economy) poses new challenges at the institutional level. One area of major concern is the adequate provision of health care. Our article evaluates the socioeconomic, cultural, and geographic/transportation barriers that Hispanic residents face when seeking primary health care services in Toombs County, Georgia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi Permendiknas Nomor 2 Tahun 2002 tantang buku dan mendeskripsikan masalah-masalah yang ditimbulkannya. Pene-litian dilaksanakan dengan metode campuran kuantitatif dan kualitatif di Kota Depok, Kabupaten Cianjur, Kota Makassar, dan Kabupaten Maros dengan menggunakan angket, wawancara mendalam dan diskusi kelompok terfokus untuk mengumpul-kan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi Permendiknas yang bertujuan untuk menyediakan buku murah dan berkualitas bagi masyarakat belum sepenuhnya tercapai. Terdapat beragam masalah dalam pelaksanaannya antara lain minimnya sosialisasi, tidak memadainya infra-struktur teknologi informasi, ketidaksesuaian materi dengan kurikulum, rendahnya kualitas cetakan, dan Permendiknas dianggap sebagai kebijakan elitis yang mematikan iklim persaingan usaha.

Hybrid aspen (Populus tremula L. Populus tremuloides Michx.) plantations are expanding in Fennoscandia and the Baltic countries; however, the possible effects of plantations on the native European aspen (P. tremula) and the level of gene flow between European and hybrid aspen have not been investigated. We studied seed quantity and quality in intraspecific and interspecific crosses of the European and hybrid aspens over a two year period. In order to study whether elevated temperatures due to climate change would benefit the species differently, we performed the crosses in different temperatures. This study explores the factors correlated to the use of home-based rehabilitation services by stroke patients for whom care is provided according to the state policy pertaining to the 10-year long-term care plan.During July 2008–June 2010, data were collected from 759 stroke patients by using a long-term care management service evaluation form. These patients had initially applied for services at the long-term care centers of the Bureau of Public Health in Taichung County. Of these, 119(15.7%) eventually used home-based rehabilitation services.
