Forensic Readiness For Wireless Medical Systems, Brian Cusack, Ar Kar Kyaw
Forensic Readiness For Wireless Medical Systems, Brian Cusack, Ar Kar Kyaw
Australian Digital Forensics Conference
Wireless medical devices and related information systems are vulnerable to use and abuse by unauthorized users. Medical systems are designed for a range of end users in different professional skill groups and also people who carry the devices in and on their bodies. Open, accurate and efficient communication is the priority for medical systems and as a consequence strong protection costs are traded against the utility benefits for open systems. Flexible security provisions are required and strong forensic capabilities built into the systems to treat the risk. In this paper we elaborate the problem area and discuss potential solutions to …

Introduction & Background
Current Trends1
•Approximately 19.6% of Medicare patients are readmitted to the hospital within 30 days
•These readmissions accounted for $15 billion of Medicare spending in 2009
Changes Coming
•As part of the Affordable Care Act, Medicare will not be reimbursing hospitals for patients readmitted within 30 days of discharge
•Hospitals have already begun improving discharge protocols to provide a greater continuity of care and minimize the financial loss of future readmissions

Enabling Outcomes For Students With Developmental Disabilities Through Collaborative Consultation, Michelle Villeneuve, Nancy L. Hutchinson
Enabling Outcomes For Students With Developmental Disabilities Through Collaborative Consultation, Michelle Villeneuve, Nancy L. Hutchinson
The Qualitative Report
Collaborative consultation has been widely adopted in school-based occupational therapy practice; however, limited research has examined how collaboration between educators and occupational therapists contributes to students’ outcomes. The purpose of this study was to describe the nature of collaborative working in two cases of school-based occupational therapy service delivery. This paper reports a cross-case analysis, comparing findings about the nature of a joint effort in each case study to identify workplace practices that facilitated educator-occupational therapist collaboration. Ethnographic case study methods (Stake, 1995; Wolcott, 2008) and socio-cultural activity theory (SCAT; Engeström, 2001) were used to examine multiple perspectives concerning school-based …

The Dolor’S Traslacion Ritual As Conflict And Compromise, Ramon Felipe Sarmiento
Philippine Studies: Historical and Ethnographic Viewpoints
Thisarticle traces the history and meaning of the traslacion or ritualtransfer of the Marian image Dolor in Catanduanes province betweenthe origin village and the parish center. In the course of the twentiethcentury, the location of the image and the control of its devotion have been contested. The ritual first emerged as a compromise between advocates of popular and institutional devotional forms, which eventuated in the fullblown religious procession at present. However, the persistent struggle between the parish center and the village has made the traslacion into an arena for enacting power and the politics of place. Keywords: ritualization • religion • …

Baghdad Science Journal
Phenotypic And genotypic characteristics of Salmonella enterica serotype Typhi have been determined for 29 isolates, from Baghdad in 2007. Conventional typing methods were performed by biochemical tests, and antimicrobial susceptibility test. Molecular typing performed by analysis plasmid DNA beside using the Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD-PCR). For the latter, two universal primers that have selected for the high discriminatory power were used for RAPD analysis. All isolates were belong one biotype according to the differention by their ability to decarboxylat lysine, 29(100%) were lysine (+). All the isolates were susceptible to the Antibiotics used. However, all the strains free of …

Ecumenism: Catholicism And The Elca: The Possibility Of Ecumenism Between The Catholic Church And The Evangelical Lutheran Church Of America, Trevor De Rosch
Undergraduate University Honors Capstones
Despite the common knowledge of differences between the various Christian denominations of the world, many people are unaware of how these differences have impacted the ecumenical talks to unite, or at least improve communications between, different Christian denominations. These issues came to light in a personal way when my father, a Catholic, began studying to become a deacon while my mother remains an Evangelical Lutheran. An analysis of the denominations, including their teachings, leaders, and congregations, shows an easily recognizable similarity, but also a stark contrast in many teachings, including those related to the Eucharist, as well as leadership duties …
