An Analysis Of User-Centric Identity Technology Trends, Openid's First Act, Peter Motykowski

Regis University Student Publications (comprehensive collection)

Identity technologies within Internet applications have evolved at an aggressive pace over the past decade. As a result, a variety of user-centric identity management technologies are available on the Internet today. The user-centric identity technology realm has become a fragmented ecosystem of standards, techniques, and technical approaches to identity management. A symptom of this fragmentation is the sluggish adoption of user-centric identity technologies by Internet users. A study titled, An Analysis of User-Centric Identity Technology Trends, OpenID"â„¢s First Act, aims to reveal identity technology adoption patterns of users that engage in the use of Internet applications secured by an authentication …

Fines For Failure To Cooperate Within Antitrust Proceedings – The Ultimate Weapon For Antitrust Authorities?, Konrad Stolarski

Yearbook of Antitrust and Regulatory Studies

The aim of this article is to analyse a powerful competence available to antitrust authorities in Europe in the form of the imposition of fines for the failure to cooperate within antitrust proceedings. While fines of that type are imposed in practice very rarely, the article considers the existing decisional practice of the Polish antitrust authority as well as the European Commission, and presents the way in which their approach has evolved throughout the years. The article analyses also the question of the formal initiation of proceedings concerning procedural violations and the importance of the use of a uniform and …

A Critical Vision Of Organizational Culture, Łukasz Sułkowski Nov 2011

A Critical Vision Of Organizational Culture, Łukasz Sułkowski

European Management Studies

The analysis presented in this article focuses on the problems raised by representatives of the critical approach in human resource management and concerns the instrumental and oppressive role of organizational culture. Organizational culture has been the subject of controversy since the inception of the concept. Thus, critical reflection is of course not only conducted on the basis of Critical Management Studies (CMS). Nevertheless, representatives of CMS propose the most radical and reflexive approach that synthesizes a number of topics that appear in earlier criticism.

Inhibition Of Rho Kinase Regulates Specification Of Early Differentiation Events In P19 Embryonal Carcinoma Stem Cells, Roman J. Krawetz, Jaymi Taiani, Alexis Greene, Gregory M. Kelly, Derrick E. Rancourt

Paediatrics Publications

Background: The Rho kinase pathway plays a key role in many early cell/tissue determination events that take place in embryogenesis. Rho and its downstream effector Rho kinase (ROCK) play pivotal roles in cell migration, apoptosis (membrane blebbing), cell proliferation/cell cycle, cell-cell adhesion and gene regulation. We and others have previously demonstrated that inhibition of ROCK blocks endoderm differentiation in embryonal carcinoma stem cells, however, the effect of ROCK inhibition on mesoderm and ectoderm specification has not been fully examined. In this study, the role of ROCK within the specification and differentiation of all three germ layers was examined. Methodology/Principal Findings: …
