Non smoker exposure to second hand smoke is still of concern even though smoking free environments have been implemented in public places in Thailand. Thus, smokers have changed their behavior to smoke in their dwellings instead which could cause pollutant transfers from a smoking area to an adjacent non smoking area by air flows between zones. ผลของโปรแกรมการฝึกซ้อมแบบวงจรที่มีต่อการพัฒนาสมรรถภาพทางกลไกของนักกรีฑาบุคลากรมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่, กรัณย์ ปัญโญ

Journal of Education Studies

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบสมรรถภาพทางกลไกของนักกรีฑาบุคลากร มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ระหว่างก่อนและหลังเข้ารับการฝึกตามโปรแกรมการฝึกแบบวงจร โดยการเก็บ รวบรวมข้อมูลจากการทดสอบสมรรถภาพทางกลไกก่อนและหลังเข้ารับการฝึกตามโปรแกรมการฝึก ที่ผู้วิจัยพัฒนาขึ้น โดยมีนักกีฬากรีฑาบุคลากรมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่เข้ารับการทดสอบ จำนวน ๑๐ คน ผลการวิจัยจากการเปรียบเทียบสมรรถภาพทางกลไกก่อนและหลังการฝึก สรุปได้ดังนี้ ๑) การทดสอบ แรงบีบมือ พบว่า ความแข็งแรงของกล้ามเนื้อแขนเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๑.๕๕ กิโลกรัม ๒) การทดสอบแรงเหยียดขา พบว่า ความแข็งแรงของกล้ามเนื้อขาเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๕.๓๖ กิโลกรัม ๓) การทดสอบยืนกระโดดไกล พบว่า พลังระเบิดของกล้ามเนื้อขาเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๕.๙๐ เซนติเมตร ๔) การทดสอบยืนก้มตัว พบว่า ความอ่อนตัวเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๓.๑๐ เซนติเมตร ๕) การวัดปริมาตรความจุปอด พบว่า ความจุปอดเพิ่มขึ้น ได้ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๓๔๕ มิลลิลิตร ๖) การทดสอบวิ่งเก็บของ ๔๐ เมตร พบว่า ความคล่องแคล่วว่องไวเพิ่มขึ้น โดยได้ ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๐.๔๑ วินาที ๗) การทดสอบวิ่งเร็ว ๕๐ เมตร พบว่า ความเร็วเพิ่มขึ้น โดยได้ ค่าเฉลี่ยผลต่าง เท่ากับ ๐.๔๓ วินาที

The Knowledge Transfer (KT) Project as operated by the Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) and the Office of Service-Learning (OSL) of Lingnan University has successfully reached its third year of implementation. Over the past three years Knowledge Transfer has established a unique position in Lingnan’s teaching and research, as well as building of institutional capacity. As a liberal arts university, Lingnan takes pride in its humanistic approach to knowledge transfer on campus as well as off campus in building community capacity.

APIAS Research Report 研究報告

中國雲南山區服務研習計劃由德勤中國(香港)和嶺南大學服務研習處共同組織開展。該計劃的主要目的之一是研究山村少數民族和社區的可持續發展情況。其中包括保護本地獨特文化，在公共教育、衛生和經濟發展方面提供必要的輔助，環境保護，以及作為社區長壽基石的可持續發展。

該計劃於2007年啟動，為期三年，至2010年結束。該三年計劃旨在研究該社區在教育、衛生和經濟方面的需求，並提供必要幫助。在2008年至2009年(計劃第二年)，該計劃與嶺南大學亞太老年研究中心合作，在該村進行健康狀況研究，涵蓋該山村社區的衛生條件和初級衛生保健體系。研究通過了解雲南省格章村村民的健康狀況，深入研究中國農村的醫療衛生水平。村民健康狀況體現該村的社會人口統計特點、環境和個人風險因素、問題應對能力以及衛生保健體系的覆蓋情況。調查結果將用於評估村民的健康需求，協助政府提供更合理的醫療衛生服務，並監督健康改善的成果。

Health Impact Assessment Of Pesticide Use In Northern Thai Farmers, Ratana Sapbamrer, Arrak Damrongsat, Prajak Kongtan

The present study aims to assess health impacts on pesticide use in 136 farmers from Baan Mai Ras Bam Rung Village, San Kong Subdistrict, Dok Kham Tai District, Phayao. Questionnaire and laboratory examination were used as tools. Pesticide use in questionnaire consisted of objectives, type and reasons of pesticide use, prevention practices from exposure, etc. Health impacts questionnaire included physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. The results showed that most farmers planted rice crop and the major pesticide use was insecticides (79.4 %), followed by herbicides, fungicides, and acaricides, respectively (78.7, 40.4 and 33.1 %). An assay for determination of the methane potential of household waste (HHW) was developed. The assay was performed in batch vials with thermophilic inoculum from a biogas plant co-digesting swine manure with industrial waste. Methane potential of 500 mL g-1VS was achieved within 10 d. Blending of the HHW household waste was suitable method for homogenization of the material. Although blending altered the physical image of the sample, it did not alter the original composition of the material. Gasoline station is a common source of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emissions around its perimeter. In order to conduct a monitoring of the VOC's emission, measurements of biological markers of blood benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) in gasolinestation workers are recommended. The purposes of this study were to evaluate exposure risk ratio (110 gasoline station workers from 11 gasoline stations in Bangkok Metropolitan area compared to 10 office workers in the same station as control group) and to determine the relations between blood BTEX and biological parameters of the gasoline workers.
