Indubitably Uncertain: Philadelphia Newspapers And The Role Of Valuation Uncertainty In Attempted Cramdown Of All-Equity Plans, Anthony Sexton
Indubitably Uncertain: Philadelphia Newspapers And The Role Of Valuation Uncertainty In Attempted Cramdown Of All-Equity Plans, Anthony Sexton
Emory Bankruptcy Developments Journal
Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code allows a debtor to confirm a plan over the objection of impaired creditors. This power, commonly known as 'cramdown,' is constrained by the Fair and Equitable Rule. After enactment of the current Bankruptcy Code, one part of that rule has been a general prohibition against cramming down all-equity plans on prepetition secured creditors. But recent case law'specifically Philadelphia Newspapers'provides an opening to debtors who wish to strip away a secured creditor's lien. This Article demonstrates that such all-equity plans should not be confirmed because valuation uncertainty exposes junior and senior creditors alike to unjustifiable …
Infection With Chlamydia Pneumoniae In Neuronal Cells Alters The Expression Of Genes Involved In Apoptosis And Autophagy Pathways, Annette K. Slutter
Infection With Chlamydia Pneumoniae In Neuronal Cells Alters The Expression Of Genes Involved In Apoptosis And Autophagy Pathways, Annette K. Slutter
PCOM Biomedical Studies Student Scholarship
Dysfunctions in cellular mechanisms such as apoptosis and autophagy have been implicated in the neurodegeneration associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Autophagy in AD pathogenesis has been linked to the endosomal-lysosomal system, which has been shown to play a role in amyloid processing. Studies have suggested that apoptosis may contribute to the neuronal cell loss observed in AD; however, there is no evidence of the apoptotic process leading to terminal completion. Aβ1-42 has been shown to induce apoptosis in neurons and may be an initiating factor in AD. Our previous studies demonstrated that neurons infected with C. pneumoniae are resistant to …
The Relationship Of Personalized And Traditional Iats With Explicit Attitude And Behavioral Measures, Rebecca Rae Riffle
The Relationship Of Personalized And Traditional Iats With Explicit Attitude And Behavioral Measures, Rebecca Rae Riffle
Browse all Theses and Dissertations
Researchers suggest that the Implicit Association Test (IAT) is structurally flawed, allowing contamination of responses that are influenced by stereotypical associations. This research investigated the use of a personalized IAT (PIAT) to reduce extrapersonal associations. The IAT and the PIAT were adapted to measure unconscious gender bias in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. Explicit gender bias was measured by self-reports and a new measure, the Instant Uncontrollable Reactions (IUR) questionnaire. Partial support was found for the PIAT-explicit attitudes relationship reflecting less gender bias than the IAT-explicit attitudes relationship. It was expected that the PIAT-IUR relationship would show less …
