Employee Theft: Determinants Of Motive And Proactive Solutions, David Langner
Employee Theft: Determinants Of Motive And Proactive Solutions, David Langner
UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones
Theft in the workplace, specifically performed by the employees, is a daunting situation for American business - both corporate and small proprietorships. This paper calls upon available literature to provide an in-depth analysis that focuses on employee's motive to steal from their employer and the potential proactive solutions organizations can implement to deter theft by improving morale and trust in the workplace. The topic will be examined from a linear fashion that looks at the concept of employee theft and common motivational determinants such as employer resentment, animosity, and the perception of fairness. Next, numerous organizations have adopted theft detection …

Australian journalist Paul Sheehan's representation of the alleged and convicted immigrant Muslim/Arab rapists he demonises in 'Girls Like You', like his representation of the rape survivors in that text, has much to tell us about the law's production of rape law's speaking and signifying subjects, “real rape” victims and survivors, false accusers and perpetrators. This article uses a variety of texts, including 'Girls Like You', recent Australian rape law jurisprudence and legislative reform, texts involving two controversial recent US rape cases — one from Maryland and one from Nebraska — and a recent UK study on attrition in rape prosecutions, …

Rediscovery Of Limited-Purpose Policing In East Africa: The Case Of The National Parks And Wildlife Services, James S. E. Opolot
Rediscovery Of Limited-Purpose Policing In East Africa: The Case Of The National Parks And Wildlife Services, James S. E. Opolot
African Social Science Review
The rediscovery of limited-purpose wildlife police units in East Africa—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—has slowly but steadily gained attention of criminologists and law enforcement experts in Africa. This article traces some strands of this development. It does this by critically reviewing the literature on both the regular, traditional policing, and the special-purpose wildlife police units. The review clearly demonstrates several criminological concerns such as limited utilization of concepts, theories, and paradigms as gleaned from the literature on regular, traditional policing and special-purpose wildlife police units; unavailability of relevant information and data in the gray areas; and suggests the adoption of community …

The Development Of A Standard Digital Forensics Master's Curriculum, Kathleen Strzempka
The Development Of A Standard Digital Forensics Master's Curriculum, Kathleen Strzempka
Purdue Polytechnic Masters Theses
This research focuses on the development of a standard digital forensics master’s curriculum. A current state analysis has been done of various master’s programs across the United States. Each of the courses were analyzed and compared against digital forensic domains from previous studies, including the Digital Forensic Certification Board’s (2009) KSA domains and Beebe and Clark’s (2006) knowledge domains. The courses were charted under their appropriate categories in an effort to identify the topics covered within each curriculum. Both a qualitative and frequency analysis were then completed to review the domains covered within each program. The results showed a wide …
