Concern about disruptive and violent behavior has become the focus of the public schools today because of the number of incidents of violence that has occurred in the past few years across the country. The Federal and State of Arkansas legislation have focused on making schools safer by creating rules and guidelines that address policies and practices for public school districts. Important legislation has demanded the education of students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. Administrators, principals and educators in the local schools are impacted tremendously by this decision. The necessity to provide an appropriate education for special needs children while successfully implementing inclusion is a priority of all stakeholders. The need to ensure compliance with federal and state laws while providing a quality education to all children with disabilities is a primary concern. This concern has given impetus for this research study. This study examined the attitudes of 189 middle school principals in the state of Tennessee toward inclusion. …

The purpose of this quantitative study was to do a comparative analysis of Missouri Assessment Program Test (MAP) performance of third grade students in Missouri Bootheel schools. The analysis was designed to answer the following research question: Is there a significant difference in MAP scores of third-grade students who attended publicly funded preschool programs and those who did not attend publicly funded preschool programs? A total of 239 scores were analyzed to determine if a significant difference existed between the two groups. Data were placed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program. An ex post facto study was conducted to determine whether any relationship exists between remediation post Reach Exit Exam (E2) failure and NCLEX-RN success of graduates of baccalaureate nursing programs. Data was gathered from responses to the seventh annual validity study (V7S) offered to deans and directors of nursing programs by the Director of Research for Elsevier, Incorporated. Data focused on test groups which received administration of the E2 between September 1, 2006 and August 31, 2007. Responses from 28 baccalaureate nursing programs were included in the study. The strategic location of the Swahili people along the East African coast has placed them in the way of several newcomers, both local and foreign, who have come to the coast for various economic and political purposes. For this reason the Swahili have had to make adjustments to accommodate the newcomers, often having to redefine their Swahili identity. They have used various tools in this redefinition process including music, dance, and clothing. This dissertation explores the use of a clothing item known as kanga in this process. Effect Of Channel Catfish Stocking Rate On Yield And Water Quality In An Intensive, Mixed Suspended-Growth Production System, Bartholomew W. Green

This study was conducted to determine the effect of stocking rate on yield of channel catfish Ictalurus punctatus and water quality in a mixed suspended-growth (biofloc) production system with zero water exchange. Channel catfish (National Warmwater Aquaculture Center 103 strain; average fish weight -- 13 g) were stocked into nine 35-m2 tanks (28 m3/tank) at a rate of 2.9, 5.7, or 8.5 fish/m2 for a 238-d grow-out period. One 1.865-kW blower for every three tanks supplied air continuously through a diffuser grid (constructed of 2.5-cm-diameter polyvinyl chloride pipe) on the bottom of each tank. Well water …

Germinal Center Reutilization By Newly Activated B Cells., Tanja A Schwickert, Boris Alabyev, Tim Manser, Michel C Nussenzweig

Germinal centers (GCs) are specialized structures in which B lymphocytes undergo clonal expansion, class switch recombination, somatic hypermutation, and affinity maturation. Although these structures were previously thought to contain a limited number of isolated B cell clones, recent in vivo imaging studies revealed that they are in fact dynamic and appear to be open to their environment. We demonstrate that B cells can colonize heterologous GCs. Invasion of primary GCs after subsequent immunization is most efficient when T cell help is shared by the two immune responses; however, it also occurs when the immune responses are entirely unrelated.
