The need to satisfy aerospace industry's demand not met by traditional materials motivated researchers and scientists to look for new solutions. The answer was found in developing new material systems by combining together two or more constituents. Composites, also known as fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) consisting of a reinforcing phase (fibers) embedded into a matrix (polymer), offered several advantages with respect to conventional materials. High specific modulus and strength together with other beneficial properties, corrosion resistance and transparency to electrical and magnetic fields above all, made FRP also suitable for use as construction materials in structural engineering. Emotion conveys the psychological state of a person. It is expressed by a variety of physiological changes, such as changes in blood pressure, heart beat rate, degree of sweating, and can be manifested in shaking, changes in skin coloration, facial expression, and the acoustics of speech. This research focuses on the recognition of emotion conveyed in speech. There were three main objectives of this study. One was to examine the role played by the glottal source signal in the expression of emotional speech. Cervical oblique radiographs are often obtained to evaluate the patency of the intervertebral foramina. Previous work has demonstrated that computed tomography(CT), particularly oblique reconstructions of the spine, allows for the accurate measurement of foramina1 dimensions. Although oblique radiographs are routinely ordered by practitioners for this reason, there are currently no studies that have directly compared these measurements to those derived from CT scans. The purpose of this study was to establish any correlation between the dimensions of cervical foramina assessed from oblique radiographs to those observed on CT scans.
