Research Publications (2006 to 2010)

Nanocomposite polymer electrolytes were prepared by incorporating different amounts of zirconium oxide (Zr02) nanofiller to poly(vinylidene fluoride-co exafluoropropylene)-lithium trifluoromethane sulfonate (PVDF-HFP-LiCF3S03). X-ray diffraction (XRD) study has been carried out to investigate the structural features of the electrolyte films while a.c. impedance spectroscopy has been performed to investigate their electrical properties. The conductivity of nanocomposite polymer electrolyte systems is influenced by nanofiller concentration. The increase in conductivity is attributable to the increase in the fraction of amorphous region and the number of charge carriers and vice versa. The highest conductivity obtained is in the order of 10-3 S cm-1 for the …

The sixty tales that comprise the Sherlock Holmes Canon hold a unique place in the realm of both adaptation studies and culture studies. The stories were originally written at a time concurrent with the birth of cinema; Holmes was part of the vanguard of literary figures to appear on film. Since his first appearance on screen in 1900, Sherlock Holmes, his friend and colleague Dr. Watson, and the adventures in which they figure have been consistently adapted for the full lifespan of the cinematic medium. Despite this rich history, the adaptations have, almost without exception, been scrutinized through the lens …

Examining Classroom Grades As A Predictor Of Student Achievement On A Criterion- Referenced Test: Telling The Truth, Phillip David Kennedy

Dissertations

American education has made many attempts to reform its structure during the last several decades. Many of these reform efforts have been prompted by global events that implied American education as inferior to other nations’ educational systems. The 2001 No Child Left Behind Act required schools to examine their curriculum, instructional practices, and assessments. The problem was a concern regarding inconsistencies between classroom grades and student achievement (Missouri Assessment Program scores). Therefore classroom grades may be misrepresenting student achievement to colleges, military, or corporations recruiting high school graduates. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between student …
