Journal of Health Ethics

Participant – researcher communication during the informed consent process has characterized such interactions as being informative. The present research provides participants’ perceptions of the informed consent process, factors that affect their decisions to participate, in addition to highlighting participants’ relationships with the various professionals involved. A telephone survey was conducted with 60 participants previously enrolled in one of five drug trails. Findings indicated that the majority of participants perceived the informed consent process was valid, understood their rights as participants, had a high level of trust for the professionals involved, and with self-benefit as one of the first reasons for …

Value Added Services: Publishing Continuum At The University Of Nebraska–Lincoln, Joan Giesecke, Paul Royster

University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries: Presentations

During its 3 years of operations, the institutional repository at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln has gathered and posted over 19,000 documents, which, together with its hosted ETD collection, make it the country’s 3rd largest IR. Usage records also indicate it is one of the busiest, as well, furnishing almost 120,000 downloads during the most recent month (October 2008).

The IR has also become the cornerstone for a bundle of electronic publishing services developed and provided by the UNL Libraries. Indeed, these services may be seen as the enablers or preconditions of the IR’s successful track record.

Median Crossover Crashes In The Vicinity Of Interchanges On Utah Interstates, Katherine Elaine Winters

While not accounting for a significant proportion of overall crashes, median crossover crashes in the state of Utah do account for a significant proportion of interstate fatalities. Due to the seriousness of median crossover crashes in the state of Utah, the need exists to evaluate the impact of median crossover crashes in the state, to identify locations where median crossover crashes may be occurring at particularly high rates, and to identify methods to help mitigate these crashes.
