Ecology Of The Evening Bat (Nycticeius Humeralis) At The Northern Edge Of The Range, Olivia Maya Munzer

Only a single colony of evening bats (Nycticeius humeralis) is known to occur in Michigan, and it is the northernmost colony on the North American continent. In mid-May, only female evening bats migrate to Michigan to raise their pups, and in late August, evening bats migrate to southern portions of their range, where they are ubiquitous. I studied the roosting and dietary ecology of the evening bat in southeastern Michigan. Evening bats roosted in cavities, crevices, and under exfoliating bark of older trees located in a bottomland forest, interlaced with waterways and surrounded by agricultural fields. From this review, a FORTRAN code was developed that generates time and position dependent distributed loads based on linear wave theory for shallow water conditions. The routine was integrated into to the Abaqus finite element analysis framework, and used to evaluate the structural response of a representative bridge section impacted by tidal surge.

Sme Finance, Development And Trade In Botswana: A Gender Perspective, S M. Kapunda, B. Magembe, J. Shunda

Business Management Review

This study examines gender-wise the relationship between SMEs ' financing, development and trade in Botswana. Data was collected through personal interviews and questionnaires to two sets of 100 SMEs selected randomly. The data was analysed using essentially SPSS. The results reveal that lack of funds especially for "large" SMEs (mainly medium) is not considered to be a major problem in Botswana because the government has instituted mechanisms for assisting SMEs in accessing affordable sources of funds. Some of the SMEs regarded stiff competition, lack of a market and non-payment of accounts by clients as big problems.. However, women experienced more …
