Direction Of The Play: Bocon, Amber Mae Peoples
Graduate Student Projects
This project entailed the selection, background research and documentation, design, casting, direction, technical direction, workshop facilitation, tour management, and post-production analysis of the production of ¡Bocon!. Documentation includes research and analysis of the play, workshop artifacts, and an evaluation of the play as a production vehicle for the Theatre Arts Department of the Bridges Project at Central Washington University. The analysis also includes a discussion as to the process-based vision of this production.

This project entailed the selection, background research and documentation, analysis, casting, directing, dialect coaching and post-production analysis of Boise High School's production of William Inge's Bus Stop. Documentation included research and analysis of the play and an evaluation of the play as a production vehicle for the department of Theatre Arts at Central Washington University. The analysis also includes a discussion of the directorial vision of this production.

Cultivating The Taste Of The Nation: The National Council Of Women Of Canada And The Campaign Against “Pernicious” Literature At The Turn Of The Twentieth Century, Anne-Marie Kinahan

This article analyzes the campaign against “pernicious” literature undertaken by the National Council of Women of Canada at the turn of the twentieth century. Concerned with the growing availability of dime novels, penny dreadfuls, and romances and their perceived influences on young readers, Council members sought to educate the Canadian public about the circulation of so-called “pernicious” literature. But they also sought to eradicate the popularity of “pernicious” literature by encouraging children, youth, and adults to read a “better class” of books, through the creation of the National Home Reading Union in 1895.
