National Law School of India Review
In this case note, the authors examine the scope and extent of the power to grant an interim injunction conferred on Indian courts under section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The note first looks at the historical position regarding grant of an interim injunction in arbitration disputes including the changes brought about by section 9 of the 1996 legislation. It then looks at the interpretation given to section 9 and principles laid down by the Hon' ble Supreme Court for granting interim injunction in this case. It also gives suggestions for further reforms.

"I'll never change the name of the Redskins. You have my word on that. In addition to that, it's really what the Redskins mean that's not quite out there.., what it means is tradition. It means winning. It means a great tradition for the franchise."
-Daniel Snyder (owner of the Washington Redskins).
"A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom."

Sports Spectator Behavior For Collegiate Women’S Basketball, Jennifer Y. Mak, Anita N. Lee, Juliet Donahue
Management Faculty Research
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between the Desire to attend collegiate women’s basketball (DES) and three aspects of attending collegiate women's basketball games. The participants were spectators of a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's basketball game ranging in age from 18 to 70 (N = 312). The Modified Sports Consumers Questionnaire (Milne & McDonald, 1999) was administered during a basketball game. After exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), three factors (Habit, Attitude, and Satisfaction) with 19 items were retained for Sports Spectator Behavior (SSB). Frameworks For Patient Safety In The Nursing Curriculum, Theresa Maria Chenot
Frameworks For Patient Safety In The Nursing Curriculum, Theresa Maria Chenot
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Patient safety (i.e., the degree to which patients are free from accidental injury) has received a great deal of media coverage during the past few years. Professional and regulatory agencies have indicated that patient safety education should be provided to healthcare workers to improve health outcomes. The primary purpose of this exploratory study was to gain a better understanding of the current status of patient safety awareness among pre-licensure nursing students. To this end, six research questions guided the study:
1. Will interpretable item constructs be identified when responses to the Healthcare Professional Patient Safety Assessment Curriculum Survey (HPPSACS) are …

Endorser Source Credibility: Redefining Spokesperson Influence Through Development Of The Celebrity-Hero Matrix, Joshua Shuart
Endorser Source Credibility: Redefining Spokesperson Influence Through Development Of The Celebrity-Hero Matrix, Joshua Shuart
WCBT Faculty Publications
Endorsement of sport and non-sport products by athletes is an extremely popular method that corporations use to drive sales and advertising. Traditionally, celebrity endorsement research has focused on the physical attractiveness of the endorser; while this makes sense, it provides only a partial explanation why consumers purchase athlete-endorsed products. Several other components of source credibility, as well as previously unexplored elements such as "heroic" traits, prove to be stronger predictors of intent-to-purchase. A 3-phase research study of Americans aged 18-35 was conducted, with a Celebrity-Hero Matrix© (CHM) developed and several marketing recommendations made based on the findings.
Heroes In Sport: Assessing Celebrity Endorser Effectiveness, Joshua Shuart
Heroes In Sport: Assessing Celebrity Endorser Effectiveness, Joshua Shuart
WCBT Faculty Publications
The use of celebrities, and particularly athletes, to influence consumers and sell products is not a new practice, but one that is gaining considerable steam in the sports marketplace. However, many academics and practitioners have long questioned the means by which celebrity endorsement is measured and evaluated. Through the use of validated surveys among US students and the inauguration of the Celebrity-Hero Matrix (CHM), some of their questions are answered. Being labelled a 'heroic' athlete does, it seems, have tremendous power for marketers, and provides endorsement clout for the athlete.

Financial Benefits Of On-Site Athletic Training Services For A Performing Arts Show, Ritasue Morgan Campbell
Financial Benefits Of On-Site Athletic Training Services For A Performing Arts Show, Ritasue Morgan Campbell
UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations
The purpose of this study is to examine the cost of providing on-site athletic training treatments for a performing arts show, versus the cost that would be incurred for off-site treatments. As a profession, athletic training is growing quickly and entering a wide expanse of new settings. The physical nature of work, profit driven mindset of organizations and non-traditional occupational settings all contribute to the need for cost benefit analysis research regarding on-site athletic training. Using a cost avoidance formula, this research will examine if there is a difference in the direct cost of treating employees through an on-site athletic …
Second-Home Owner Attachment To A Destination: A Driver Of Tourism Promotion, John Brumby Mcleod
Second-Home Owner Attachment To A Destination: A Driver Of Tourism Promotion, John Brumby Mcleod
UNLV Retrospective Theses & Dissertations
Second-homes have become common place in many destinations. The visitation to these homes has become known as second-home tourism. Previous literature suggests that these homeowners might possess traits that would be attractive to tourism planners such as repeat visitation, word-of-mouth promotion, and the hosting of other visitors; The purpose of this study was to explore the presence of these traits in the context of international second-home owners and test a theoretical model that proposes place attachment as a driver of these behaviors. Attachment has been shown as a predictor of visitation and positive word-of-mouth in previous research. Borrowing from the …

Pro Teams Should Reward Good Off-Field Behavior, Porcher L. Taylor Iii, David R. Maraghy
School of Professional and Continuing Studies Faculty Publications
Professional sports—particularly the NFL and NBA, whose players clearly are behavioral models for kids and even young adults—should join the cash-for-performance movement by rewarding players for their exemplary good citizenship off the field. Why not reward integrity-passionate athletes like Matt Hasselbeck of the Seattle Seahawks or Willie McGinest of the Cleveland Browns with annual bonuses of $100,000 each—or donate that amount to their favorite charities? Such a bonus program would require more than being scandal-or police-blotter-free for a year. To qualify, players would have to travel at the highest moral altitude of sports ambassadorship and citizenship. Character counts and should …
