Take Me To Your Leader: Leadership And The Future, Elizabeth Leo
Take Me To Your Leader: Leadership And The Future, Elizabeth Leo
2007 - The Leadership Challenge - Improving learning in schools
Students need to leave school with dreams for the future, high aspirations and goals for themselves and society; young men and women who will contribute to active citizenship, community renewal and economic regeneration. Schools are critical in realising this mission. The majority of our schools have talented leaders and teachers with the vision, energy and passion to create a sustainable future for their students and their communities. However, it is more difficult for school leaders serving disadvantaged communities to succeed, not only in improving learning and attainment, but in sustaining these. Contemporary research on human motivation and learning is enabling …

Adolescent Dating Abuse, Becky Krieg
Adolescent Dating Abuse, Becky Krieg
Graduate Research Papers
Abuse can take on many forms. Many adolescents have not developed a full understanding of what a healthy relationship is. Dating abuse is becoming problematic within the adolescent population and a growing concern for those in the field of school counseling. School counselors need to be able to recognize signs of both potential abusers and their victims, and provide prevention and intervention strategies involved with adolescent dating abuse. Through education and involvement of the school and community, counselors will be effective in helping to diminish the cycle of dating abuse among adolescents.

Ethics As Style, Leslie Connolly
Ethics As Style, Leslie Connolly
Capstone Projects and Master's Theses
Throughout this paper I discuss the idea of ethics being represented through text. How a given newspaper chooses to write a certain word can let the reader understand a little more about the papers ethical framework and history. I compare and contrast the New York Times style choices to the Associated Press style choices and ultimately compare them to different ethical codes and theories. A stylebook for The Otter Realm was also designed in conjunction with this research paper. I listed unique words encountered on our campus so that future generations of Otter Realm staff can have a consistent reference …
