Dari Anarchic Cyber Space Menjadi Transnational Public Sphere. Membaca Relasi Antara Cyber¬ Space Fan Civil Society Di Era Postmodern (Studi Kasus: Greenpeace Online Activist), Moch Faisal
Global: Jurnal Politik Internasional
This article tries to examine the relation between Cyberspace and Civil Society, especially in the post modem era. The writer believes that there is contestation amongst civil society, government, and private sector in order to dominate the public sphere. By using its apparatus, state is dominantly dominating public sphere in every day life. By using high technology and huge amount capital, private sector is successful in dominating public sphere especially in form of mass media. Private sector is much more profitable because by using mass media such television, private sector can dominate not only public sphere but also private sphere …

Debat Ketiga: Memikirkan Kembali Keilmuan Hubungan Internasional, Aryani Kristianti, Musa Maliki
Global: Jurnal Politik Internasional
This article will argue that Third Debate is the 'revolution turn' in the study of international relations. There are some explanations to conduct this argument: the description of the history of international relations thought and epistemological problem. This illustration will lead us to understand that there is a deeply dynamic debate in philosophy circumstances. We can not close the eyes to this debate otherwise we will be stucked and trapped in the dogmatism, stagnatism and ideology. Epistemological problem of philosophy is one of the foundations of the entire big problem that should be discussed. From epistemological scrutiny, this article believes …

Tomography Of The Darcy Velocity From Self-Potential Measurements, A. Jardani, A. Revil, A. Bolève, A. Crespy, J.-P. Dupont, W. Barrash, Bwalya Malama
Tomography Of The Darcy Velocity From Self-Potential Measurements, A. Jardani, A. Revil, A. Bolève, A. Crespy, J.-P. Dupont, W. Barrash, Bwalya Malama
Natural Resources Management and Environmental Sciences
An algorithm is developed to interpret self-potential (SP) data in terms of distribution of Darcy velocity of the ground water. The model is based on the proportionality existing between the streaming current density and the Darcy velocity. Because the inverse problem of current density determination from SP data is underdetermined, we use Tikhonov regularization with a smoothness constraint based on the differential Laplacian operator and a prior model. The regularization parameter is determined by the L-shape method. The distribution of the Darcy velocity depends on the localization and number of non-polarizing electrodes and information relative to the distribution of the …
Analyses Of Dengue Fever And Aedes Aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae) Larval Habitats In A Tropical Urban Environment Of Costa Rica Using Geospatial And Mosquito Surveillance Technologies, Adriana Troyo
Open Access Dissertations
Dengue is currently the most important arboviral disease globally and is usually associated with built environments in tropical areas. Control measures are currently focused on community participation in control of the vector Aedes aegypti and larval source reduction. In Costa Rica, dengue fever is a relatively recent re-emerging disease and has become a serious public health problem. Remotely sensed information can facilitate the study of urban mosquito-borne diseases like dengue by providing multiple temporal and spatial resolutions appropriate to investigate urban structure and ecological characteristics associated with infectious disease. Initial studies showed that although dengue is a serious public health …
Development Of A Delivery System And Optical-Thermal Model For Laser Interstitial Thermotherapy Of Breast Tumors, Nelson Salas
Development Of A Delivery System And Optical-Thermal Model For Laser Interstitial Thermotherapy Of Breast Tumors, Nelson Salas
Open Access Dissertations
The purpose of this project was to develop a delivery system optimized for laser interstitial thermotherapy of small tumors of the breast. The proposed approach is to combine laser interstitial thermotherapy with stereotactic imaging for fiber guidance and treatment monitoring. The goals of the dissertation were to design a fiber insertion system for cylindrical diffusing tip optical fibers and to derive optimal laser parameters for coagulation of 1 cm tumor plus a surrounding 1 cm thick rim of healthy tissue. A fiber insertion system compatible with a high resolution stereotactic digital X-ray biopsy system was designed to guide the fiber …

Natal Dispersal And New Group Formation In Capybaras (Hydrochoerus Hydrochaeris) In A Seasonally Flooded Savanna Of Venezuela, Elizabeth Rae Congdon
Dissertations
This study examines natal dispersal and new group formation in capybaras (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) in a seasonally flooded savanna in Venezuela. The first section describes a novel approach to the study of dispersal that could be applied to many taxa. Dispersal is considered in three stages (emigration, transience, and immigration) and its proximate and ultimate mechanisms are clearly differentiated. The second chapter describes dispersal behavior in capybaras, including which individuals disperse, when, and to where. In the third chapter, I evaluate dispersal in capybaras with respect to social subordination and social cohesion hypotheses. In this population, some support was …

Going It Alone: The Terror Presidency: Justice And Judgment Inside The Bush Administration, Kenneth Anderson
Going It Alone: The Terror Presidency: Justice And Judgment Inside The Bush Administration, Kenneth Anderson
Book Reviews
Jack Goldsmith's The Terror Presidency is one of the most important evaluations of the Bush Administration's War on Terror to come from inside the administration. More than just a memoir, the book offers a cogent historical and legal analysis of the profound dilemmas that confront administration officials caught between competing demands of protecting the American public while respecting civil liberties. The review sympathetically considers the issues as presented in the book, and traces through the ways in which these difficult matters, all the ones that have confronted the Bush administration and created so many political disputes, will continue to confront …
