Paňca Ksīra Vrksa is significant part of Āyurvedic pharmacy. Milky-latex of five trees is included in this group. The plants mentioned in this group have diverse pharmacological actions. Basically they are astringent and are useful in treating bleeding. This may be pharmacological basis of inclusion of medicinal plants like Ficus bengalensis L. in the treatment of vaginal diseases (yoni roga in Āyurveda) like menorrhagia and dysfunctional uterine bleeding. In addition they have vulnerary and galactagouge properties as per Āyurveda (although it needs scientific validation). The pharmaceutical studies and therapeutic uses of Plumbago zeylanica, in fresh root and as well as dry drug (root), were studied. The fresh root drug preparation includes Chitraka swarasam (freshly expressed juice), Chitraka kalkam (paste) and their therapeutic uses. Dry drug reveals preparation of Chitraka churnam (powder), Chitrakadi vati (tablets), Chitrakadi dutika (pills), Chitraka ghritam (ghee preparation), Chitraka quatham (decoction), Chitraka himam (cold infusion), Chitraka Phantam (hot infusion) and their therapeutic use for the treatment of various ailments was recorded.

Fish catching with the aid of plants and their parts is an ancient practice. The rural communities of Nepal collect piscicidal plants and their parts from various habitats, such as forest, scrub, grassland, cultivated fields, wetlands and riverbanks and use them following traditional methods and practices to stupefy fish. However, at present, the piscicidal plants and their ethenobotanical information are being eroded as a result of haphazard exploitation of resources, habitat destruction and land use change (Joshi and Joshi, 2005). Patenting traditional knowledge (TK) without the consent of right-holders is a contentious issue. There are a number of proposals that seek to defeat Western patents of TK by using a database to defeat novelty. Legal protection of these databases, particularly in the USA, appears to be a concern of many potential TK right-holders. There are provisions in international and US law that can protect a TK database from infringers.

Caches have become invaluable for higher-end architectures to hide, in part, the increasing gap between processor speed and memory access times. While the effect of caches on timing predictability of single real-time tasks has been the focus of much research, bounding the overhead of cache warm-ups after preemptions remains a challenging problem, particularly for data caches. This paper makes multiple contributions. 1) We bound the penalty of cache interference for real-time tasks by providing accurate predictions of data cache behavior across preemptions, including instruction cache and pipeline effects. The two-part Conference Into the Future: The Agenda for Civil Justice Reform is sponsored by the Canadian Forum on Civil Justice (the Forum), the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) the Association of Canadian Court Administrators (ACCA), and the Canadian Institute for the Administration of Justice (CIAJ). Part 1 of the Conference was held in in Montreal from April 30 to May 2, 2006. Part 2 of the Conference will be held in Toronto from December 7 to 8, 2006.
