METHODS: Peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) from leukemic patients (29)(ANLL),(36)(ALL) and from normal donors(55)were typed for Human leukocyte antigen-DP specificities using microlymphocytotoxicity assay. RESULTS: Results showed frequencies of (DPw) alleles in (ANLL) patients were not significantly different from controls ,exept that in DPw1 was absent .In contrast ,in ALL,frequencies of DPw2 and DPw5 were significantly increased (p< 0.05,relative risk (RR)= 1.95 and p

Leveling The Playing Field: Is It Time For A Legal Assistance Center For Developing Nations In Investment Treaty Arbitration? , Eric J. Gottwald Sep 2006

Leveling The Playing Field: Is It Time For A Legal Assistance Center For Developing Nations In Investment Treaty Arbitration? , Eric J. Gottwald

ExpressO

As part of an effort to encourage foreign direct investment, developing nations have signed over 1500 bilateral investment treaties (BITs) in just the last fifteen years. BITs grant foreign investors substantive rights, such as freedom from expropriation and the right to sue governments directly for a breach of the treaty in a process known as investment treaty arbitration. Over the last five years, the number of investment treaty arbitration claims filed against developing nations has more than tripled. The stakes are high: investor claims routinely seek damages in excess of $100,000,000 and challenge host state regulation of basic public services …

Zoom Techniques For Achieving Scale Invariant Object Tracking In Real-Time Active Vision Systems, Eric Nelson Sep 2006

Zoom Techniques For Achieving Scale Invariant Object Tracking In Real-Time Active Vision Systems, Eric Nelson

Theses

In a surveillance system, a camera operator follows an object of interest by moving the camera, then gains additional information about the object by zooming. As the active vision field advances, the ability to automate such a system is nearing fruition. One hurdle limiting the use of object recognition algorithms in real-time systems is the quality of captured imagery; recognition algorithms often have strict scale and position requirements where if those parameters are not met, the performance rapidly degrades to failure. The ability of an automatic fixation system to capture quality video of an accelerating target is directly related to …
