Cleft Palate Repair Without Fracture Of The Pterygoid Hamulus, Harith A Al Ani
Cleft Palate Repair Without Fracture Of The Pterygoid Hamulus, Harith A Al Ani
Iraqi Postgraduate Medical Journal
ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Cleft palate repair should be done with minimal tension across the suture line in order to avoid the development of palatal fistula. Fracture of the pterygoid hamulus is routinely done by many surgeons during cleft palate surgery to facilitate soft tissue approximation. OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the actual need for fracturing the pterygoid hamulus in palatoplasty. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Seventy-one cleft palate patients were studied, their ages ranged between 16 months and 14 years .In all of them surgical repair was done by Veau-Wardill- Kilner operation without fracturing of the pterygoid hamulus .Dissection of the mucoperiosteal flaps from the …

Design And Realization Of A Single Stage Sigma-Delta Adc With Low Oversampling Ratio, Yongjie Cheng
Design And Realization Of A Single Stage Sigma-Delta Adc With Low Oversampling Ratio, Yongjie Cheng
Theses and Dissertations
Due to the rapid growth of the communication market, a large amount of research is in process toward a high speed and high resolution sigma-delta A/D converter. This dissertation focuses on the design of a single-stage sigma-delta A/D converter with very low oversampling ratio for the wireless application. An architecture for a multibit single-stage delta-sigma A/D converter with two-step quantization is proposed. Both the MSB and LSB signals produced by the two-step quantization are fed back simultaneously to all integrator stages, making it suitable for low oversampling ratios. The two-step ADC avoids the problem that the complexity of an internal …

Potential Field Based Approach For Multi-Threat Containment With Cooperative Robots, Bhushan Mehendale
Potential Field Based Approach For Multi-Threat Containment With Cooperative Robots, Bhushan Mehendale
Theses
Target or threat containment is a process where a team of robots forms a particular formation around a target so that it gets engulfed in it. The robots under consideration run decentralized Swarm-Algorithms that make them cooperate with each other using their local sensing capabilities. Previous work in this area has dealt with robot formations and single threat containment where the target is either fixed or dynamic. In either case the same targets exist throughout the containment process. The challenge is to use such collaborative robots to contain multiple targets that appear at random times, and expire after some time. …
