Las Universidades Argentinas En El Contexto De Las Políticas De Los 90s: El Caso De La Licenciatura De Articulación En Ciencias De La Educación De La Unicen, Iris Richmond

Education Policy Analysis Archives (EPAA)

This educational program should be understood within the framework provided by the structural reforms of the educational system, promoted by the national government in the 1990’s with the intention of restructuring the State–Society relations. This program that appeared to be promoting the democratization of access to the university system was transformed into a market mechanism, for the provision of financial resources to the university by selling “knowledge” to graduates from teacher …

Navigating Adolescence With A Chronic Health Condition: A Perspective On The Psychological Effects Of Hair-An Syndrome On Adolescent Girls, Kimberly K. Mcclanahan, Hatim A. Omar Oct 2006

Navigating Adolescence With A Chronic Health Condition: A Perspective On The Psychological Effects Of Hair-An Syndrome On Adolescent Girls, Kimberly K. Mcclanahan, Hatim A. Omar

Pediatrics Faculty Publications

HAIR-AN syndrome is a subphenotype of polycystic ovary syndrome and is characterized by acne, obesity, hirsutism, and acanthosis nigricans. It usually manifests in early adolescence, a time of significant developmental change in females across physical, cognitive, social, and emotional domains. We contend that adolescent development for females is difficult, even in the best of circumstances, and having a chronic health condition, like HAIR-AN syndrome, will likely impact the afflicted individual's development and psychological well-being. While many researchers have discussed the long-term health effects of HAIR-AN and similar disorders, little has been written about the potential psychological sequelae of HAIR-AN on …

Assessment Of The Tube Suction Test For Identifying Non-Frost-Susceptible Soils Stabilized With Cement, Amy Lyn Crook Oct 2006

Assessment Of The Tube Suction Test For Identifying Non-Frost-Susceptible Soils Stabilized With Cement, Amy Lyn Crook

Theses and Dissertations

Frost heave is a primary mechanism of pavement distress in cold regions. The distress exhibited is dependent on the frost susceptibility of the soil within the depth of frost penetration, the availability of subsurface water, and the duration of freezing surface temperatures. Cement stabilization is one technique used to mitigate the effects of frost heave. The tube suction test (TST) is one possible method for determining the frost susceptibility of soils in the laboratory. The purpose of this research was to assess the utility of the TST for identifying non-frost-susceptible (NFS) materials stabilized with cement. This research investigated two aggregate …
