Digital Interference Holographic Microscope And Methods, Myung K. Kim
Digital Interference Holographic Microscope And Methods, Myung K. Kim
USF Patents
A simple digital holographic apparatus and method allow reconstruction of three-dimensional objects with a very narrow depth of focus or high axial resolution. A number of holograms are optically generated using different wavelengths spaced at regular intervals. They are recorded, such as on a digital camera, and are reconstructed numerically. Multiwavelength interference of the holograms results in contour planes of very small thickness and wide separation. Objects at different distances from the hologram plane are imaged clearly and independently with complete suppression of the out-of-focus images. The technique is uniquely available only in digital holography and has applications in holographic …

Ring Geometry Diode Lasers Arrays And Methods So That They Are Coherent With Each Other., Michael Bass, Jun Dong
UCF Patents
Systems, configurations and methods of using laser diodes in ring-shaped arrays placed a distance away from thin disk solid-state laser gain media, which provide uniformly absorbed pump power distribution with high absorption efficiency. This results in major improvements in the scalability and ruggedness of such lasers and disk laser amplifiers. Use of the diode laser pump configurations of the invention results in compact, robust and scalable lasers that produce high quality, high power outputs.

Social Workers Addressing Student-Perpetrated Interpersonal Violence In The School Context : Awareness And Use Of Evidence-Supported Programs, Natalie Diane Cawood
Social Workers Addressing Student-Perpetrated Interpersonal Violence In The School Context : Awareness And Use Of Evidence-Supported Programs, Natalie Diane Cawood
Dissertations and Theses
Researchers have argued that there is a research-practice gap in the delivery of prevention and mental health services in the school setting. An extension of the work of Astor and his colleagues (Astor et al., 1997, 1998, 2000), this study addresses that gap by examining the extent to which evidence-supported school violence intervention programs (ESP) are known and used by school social workers, and the barriers that are related to the use of ESPs.
A cross-sectional, web-based survey was completed by 250 members of the School Social Work Association of America, the majority having an MSW as their highest degree. …

Conflicts Of Interest And Institutional Litigants, Curtis E.A. Karnow
Conflicts Of Interest And Institutional Litigants, Curtis E.A. Karnow
ExpressO
This paper uses techniques borrowed from the field of game theory to describe rational bargaining among institutional litigants, and explains how the results, while often not leading to the rational outcome in a given case, do rationally serve a more general strategy. The paper then reviews the law on conflicts of interests and concludes that such conflicts—as between attorney and client, and among clients—will often result when institutional litigants bargain. The paper continues with a review on the law of waiver and provides a basis to accommodate the conflicts of interests. That accommodation however will often not be practical, and …
