A V. Migdal Insurance Company Ltd., Eliezer Rivlin, Aharon Barak, Dorit Beinisch

Translated Opinions

Facts: The appellant in CA 11152/04 (‘the appellant’) was injured in a road accident. As a result of the accident, his sexual functioning was impaired. The main issue addressed by the court regarded the compensation awarded to the appellant for the use of escort services.

Held: The appellant did not succeed in proving, from a factual viewpoint, a need for resorting to escort services. In addition, the law of compensation does not recognize the possibility of pecuniary damages for the expenses of using escort services. Compensation for impairment of sexual functioning can be awarded for pecuniary loss, i.e. expenses for …

U.S. Nuclear Weapons Complex: Y-12 And Oak Ridge National Laboratory At High Risk, The Project On Government Oversight, Peter Stockton

The Project on Government Oversight (POGO)

Since POGO's original report in 2001, U.S. Nuclear Weapons Complex: Security at Risk, the organization's continuing investigations' have documented how a variety of U.S. nuclear facilities have not implemented adequate protections against these threats, even when the facilities have large stashes of weapons-grade and weapons-quantity nuclear materials which particularly merit protection.

This report more specifically documents the shortcomings of efforts to secure Y-12 and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). An initial examination of these sites was reported in POGO's May 2005 study, "U.S. Nuclear Weapons Complex: Homeland Security Opportunities". That report presented the findings of POGO's investigation into security at …

Department of Plant Pathology: Faculty Publications

Microbial content of wastewater in two abattoirs and the impact on microbial population of receiving soil was studied in Agege and Ojo Local Government Areas in Lagos State, Nigeria. Wastewater samples were collected from each of the abattoirs over three months period and examined for microbial content. Soil samples contaminated with the wastewaters were also collected and analyzed for microbial content as compared to soil without wastewater contamination in the neighborhood (control). Vehicle & Infrastructure Relationships In Hydrogen Transportation Networks: Development Of The H2vision Modeling Tool, Patrick Meyer Oct 2006
