Evaluation Of Textile Fabric Properties Utilized In Foam-In-Place Head Restraints, Rebecca Anne Pfeifer
Evaluation Of Textile Fabric Properties Utilized In Foam-In-Place Head Restraints, Rebecca Anne Pfeifer
Master's Theses and Doctoral Dissertations
The purpose of this research was to evaluate and compare the physical properties of knitted fabrics in bilaminate and trilaminate composite forms used in Foam-In-Place (FIP) manufacturing technology for automotive applications. Seven physical tests employed by the automotive industry to evaluate the physical properties of fabric were used. The factors tested were Elongation, Boardiness, Weight, Thickness, Stretch and Set, Breaking Radius, and Ravel. Each test was performed according to standard test methods established by American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) or Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) or the specifications of tier-one automotive seat suppliers. Fabric samples consisted of three …

Downturn In Nebraska Net Farm Income Expected For 2005, Bruce B. Johnson
Downturn In Nebraska Net Farm Income Expected For 2005, Bruce B. Johnson
Cornhusker Economics
What is obvious to most observers of the state’s agricultural sector is that this year’s income levels will not match those of a year ago. And in some cases, they won’t even come close. However, we need to remember that 2004 represented a truly unique set of circumstances, where both the crop and the livestock sectors were enjoying phenomenal conditions. So, even though down from 2004, the 2005 net farm income forecast still looks relatively strong in the context of the past 10 years.

Interview No. 1091, Hector Ponce
Combined Interviews
Mr. Ponce very briefly discusses his family and childhood; as a bracero he picked beets in Nebraska, peppers in North Dakota, and dispensed coal for heaters in Michigan; overall, he had great working relationships with his employers; while in Michigan, he was employed by a group of brothers who treated him extremely well; they often invited him into their home, and they offered to help arrange for his residency in the hopes that he would stay to work there permanently; he also relates a story about how his employer in Nebraska was intent on finding him a girlfriend; he goes …

Does The Icj's Decision In Avena Really Mean Anything To Mexicans On Death Row?, Kenneth Williams
ExpressO
This article assesses the legality of President Bush's order to state courts that they review the convictions and sentences of certain Mexican nationals on death row in response to the ICJ's decision that the rights of these inmates had been violated. The article also discusses the review process and makes a proposal to ensure that the ICJ's mandate is carried out. Finally, there is a discussion as to the importance of these cases to both the U.S. and Mexico.
The Practice And Legality Of Rendition, Katherine R. Hawkins
The Practice And Legality Of Rendition, Katherine R. Hawkins
ExpressO
“Rendition” is the United States’ policy of sending terrorism suspects to be interrogated in Middle Eastern countries that practice torture.
This Article introduces the subject by describing a complaint filed in a lawsuit by Canadian citizen Maher Arar. The United States sent Arar from John F. Kennedy airport to Syria, where he was tortured and was held in a grave-sized cell for nearly a year. Arar alleges that his transfer violated the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (“CAT”).
Arar’s lawsuit may be dismissed before the court reaches the substance of his claims. But …

Fluoropolymer Compositions, Optical Devices, And Methods For Fabricating Optical Devices, Dennis W. Smith, John Ballato, Stephen Foulger, Suresh Kumar Manthati
Fluoropolymer Compositions, Optical Devices, And Methods For Fabricating Optical Devices, Dennis W. Smith, John Ballato, Stephen Foulger, Suresh Kumar Manthati
Clemson Patents
Optical waveguides interconnect optical information processing devices, or connect such devices with other optical communication links such as glass optical fibers. Fluoropolymers consisting of alternating perfluorocyclobutane and aryl ether linkages possess suitable properties for optical waveguides and other devices due to tunability in optical properties of the copolymers. Perfluorocyclobutane (PFCB) copolymer may be employed in solutions that exhibit a high solids content. Such solutions show useful physical properties for optical waveguide devices since the solutions are capable of achieving single step film thicknesses, when applied to a substrate, of greater than about 0.6 microns, and sometimes may achieve a thickness …
