In this essay, the theological response to the question is an ecclesiological one: there are degrees of membership in the Church, from the explicitness of baptism to a nonofficial or "anonymous" form of Christianity. Rahner arrives at this position by starting with what can be said of the human being as spirit, that is, unlimited openness to the being of God, a capacity for God, an innate tendency toward God. In turn, the Incarnation, where God enters into human reality and becomes human being, reveals the fundamental ordering of God toward the human person (a subject in an interpersonal, intersubjective …

One of the most amazing inventions in the history of humankind is the internet. Nowadays, the internet environment is changing so fast that it is almost impossible to keep up with advancing technologies. It also is growing so quickly, that its use is spreading to involve almost all aspects of human life, from online banking to job searches to finding directions to researching material for children's school projects. The burgeoning role of the internet, in turn, has resulted in almost unlimited growth in the …

Doppler measurements from Subaru and Keck have revealed radial velocity variations in the V = 8.15, G0 IV star HD 149026 consistent with a Saturn-mass planet in a 2.8766 day orbit. Photometric observations at Fairborn Observatory have detected three complete transit events with depths of 0.003 mag at the predicted times of conjunction. HD 149026 is now the second-brightest star with a transiting extrasolar planet. The mass of the star, based on interpolation of stellar evolutionary models, is 1.3 ± 0.1 M☉; together with the Doppler amplitude K1 = 43.3 m s-1, we derive a planet mass M sin i …

Production And Handling Practices For Safe Produce, Pamela L. Brady, Justin R. Morris

AAES Research Reports and Research Bulletins

The University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture received a grant from the USDA’s Initiative for Future Agriculture and Food Systems program to help small- and medium-sized farms become more profitable and to therefore add stability to the family farm. One approach to doing this is to help farmers growing produce reduce or eliminate safety hazards which may be associated with their products.
